- Is Instacart Still Worth It? (Lower Base Pay) Today we got a $33 and a $68 in 5 hours of sitting out in parking lots. I only drove 30 miles to earn $101. Technically only worked 2 hours because I sat for 3 hours with no orders. Instacart did go down in this video as well. After Instacart lowered base pay to $4, do you still think instacart is worth it?

I can't work for a company that keeps slashing their workers' pay. Imagine your boss lowered your wage instead of giving you a raise- you would quit immediately! Please stop shopping for them until they correct their terrible treatment of shoppers. Gas prices keep rising and rising to add insult to injury
Instacart has been dead in my area for years. I used to be able to make $200 a day on IC alone. those days are long gone. I only do 1 or 2 batches a day (if that). Cutting the pay is the dumbest thing they've ever done. Batches are just going to sit because the pay is so low. Drivers are going to realize they're getting paid doordash earnings to do instacart work. Customers are going to start receiving their orders later and later for something that's completely out of their control. You might start seeing tip baiting become a problem again.

Only getting orders from stores that you are close to is just awful I've complained about this so many times but it doesn't seem like they will ever make it how it used to be again I cannot understand why they want us to sit in parking lots all day long that's actually a crime it's called loitering
They did it because shoppers complained they were getting orders from too far away too often. I hate it though too, I get homeless Crack heads coming up to me in my car all the time, that's the worst. And wasting so much gas... if I'm in a zone, i don't move around very much, maybe just 2 times, but I'll sit in my car for up to 2 hours at a time, then my back starts hurting a lot. It's awful.
I don't think Shoppers were actually complaining about that they just used that as a reason to blame us they just want us to be desperate and sit in the parking lot like pathetic losers

Thank you for your Service. May God bless you. Asthma and Arthritis limit many people when it comes to getting groceries. Many people can only get into upstairs apartments. The stairs make it difficult to get groceries.
This lower base pay is crazy. I did an order that was around 25 items and taking it about 10 miles. The customer tipped well so the over all pay was ok but when I looked back, IC on paid $5.00 for the base. I thought the $5.00 was for under 10 items and only a couple of miles....not the case.. I think they are lowering the base based on the tip amount....not cool

Instacart plays any game they can get away with, people accept horrible batches so they won't stop. I'd hate to give up the freedom for nonstop misery in a 9-5 but... winter gets crazy busy where I live so that's the only reason I'm holding on to my active status, good luck to ya!

I think it's still worth it - especially in California where base pay doesn't effect you as much as tips do. We have that Prop 22 which pays us $18.50 hourly regardless.

In my area, north central Cali, im lucky if i get between $50-70 a day. I like small batches because I'm in and out. Good video! 🎉
I had some issues as well yesterday afternoon. My issues were happening because the app needed an update, but I can't see why that would cause it to give you the wrong addresses. Also, that $60+ after 7pm is insane! good stuff man

The Death of Insta cart has come it’s OVER😂😂 they wildn no more 50$ plus over orders I literally just saw a order that said 15 $ with 30 items w/ 28 miles I was like yea that’s when I knew IC was done thankfully I have a full time job now so I only do Insta on the side sometimes

Of course it’s going to be worth it when customers are tipping $50! I’m not getting anything close to these high paying orders. Good for you that you have a good rating so you can receive those good orders. 😌
My goal per week is $1000 which is $142 per day working 7 days per week. I don't think I'm going to reach my goal. Every single one of my customers increased my tip today, so that's nice. I try to give excellent customer service but it does take longer.
In my area that $64 batch would have been gone as soon as i hit click lol good catch
I put the non-cold items into the banana boxes from Costco. The boxes stack. I put the cold items in cooler bags and two of those cooler bags fit into one of the Costco banana boxes.
I have one of those big rolling coolers on wheels from HEB to put all the cold stuff in also
I actually stopped working instcart full time because of how slow it was and how many shoppers in my area have two phones it is hard to compete with that
Same i start a w2 on monday and im excited to not have to stare at my screen fighting for good batches parking lot camping.

@@melissaerkouni3591 facts plus a guaranteed check is nice too. Like I'm all for being my own boss because I have a few side hustles but instacart has left a bad taste in my mouth for sure.
I noticed all of the veteran shoppers in my area look miserable. A few I don't see anymore. I have a job interview on Tuesday!!

I once had a double with customer b living right near the store. She had a lot of meats. I contacted her and told her I was delivering her first. And why. The next day she rated me four. After all that trouble. Sometimes they are the second order because they need it delivered later. I wonder if that was her case.

All I get these days is grouped batches with over 11 miles but Instacart hired a ton of foreign shoppers here in Colorado and they are not friendly so I’m not able to stay in Colorado unless I find more work Walmart here is garbage my excepted rating is down to 30% and I’m thinking rent is cheaper in Austin tx Instacart has ruined my life I’m taking psychedelic therapy’s to cope with this new low pay scale even man this really sucks I always made so much more then you too at 800-1220 a week
I was wondering what changed with IC. It's been bad for quite some time. I've gotten used to the convenience, but the customer experience has been horrible for a couple of months.

I finally got out of the low rating and thought I'd see more batches. There's none. Hopefully once school starts back up and football season.

Instacart is absolutely not worth it. I needed to get a regular job in retail again. I do this now as a side job. I have seen so much decline and such bad pay in my area with orders, and I'm not willing to drive all over wasting gas and time on so many small orders.
Also in my spark zone they just made our zone 3 orders per batch almost all orders for spark and I basically quit I don’t see good orders and when I do there asap or express orders so I’m burned out on it
Yes had an issue where i could'nt click i have arrived and they had alcohol. I gave chat support the alcohol info since the ID never came up and got a warning email about breaking there liquor agreement like really.
I my city in Walmart in cosmetic department customer need to pay inside of department before you going check out, usually I always told them I am instacart shopper , it was enough , but last time seller told me I need to pay before doesn’t matter instacard you or not , I made refund for customer, tell me please is it possible to pay before I complete order I think it’s not possible, let me know if I wrong please?

I know, the average order I get are 2 orders- $11-12 that’s about $4-5 per order that’s not good money. I can get the same money by doing a 1 item order at Walgreens. It doesn’t quite make sense honestly, more items, more money! No tip, no trip!
Aphid, sometimes if you have two maps on at the same time. .the navigation will go berserk. Don't know if that's what happened. Also, you can deliver to customer B first then A if it makes more sense, then call support and have them close out the batch for you.
When you say 2 hours of work, are you counting delivery time or just shopping time?
If it's me I count sitting time. I could be out doing something else making money but I'm sitting, so it's work. I also don't like just sitting in my car so that's work too, lol. Kind of like a tradesman would go out and bid jobs, but not being paid unless one is accepted.
always a trip hearing someone else say HEB. I never use that car play on my car..the navigation is so strange I stick the phone, even tho that too can be wack sometimes. Watching you go up those three flights of stairs
My market is in Canada. In short, it is trash, and yet it is in the most populous area of Canada 😕- most customers are not tipping which I can’t blame since Instacart is charging more for the service
i deleted the app because the online button was not working, it was a shame because some of the orders were so easy to fill!
I've never seen an H*E*B. Or is it spelled H-E-B or H.E.B.? What does that stand for? What kind of store is it? Is it like Costco or ShopRite?
HEB It’s a grocery store and it stands for the initials of the owners daughter I believe

Ive been getting alot of stupid customers lately who put in the wrong home address. They would give me a drop off 10 to 15 minutes from the store. Than I messege them and they tell me they made a mistake bla bla bla and their actual home address would be 45 minutes away :/
Me being me, I cancel and return and get my bump pay. Its been happening this week to me. Its annoying.
