Except i dont have the kick down yet :( but im glad i found my insane and stubborn double on the youtube. After i stubbornly taught myself the kick 10 years ago im trying to relearn it again, im currently on the 2 day break phase heheh. Yeah the struggle’s real. Was feeling a bit down about it, heartening to see someone else mirroring my process exactly. Good luck everyone, fight on!

    Been practicing tkd for about 7 years (i've obtained my Dan rank) and if I could recommend anything - You should learn the turning 360 round kick, then the jumping 360 round kick, and finally the 540 where you land on your kicking leg... The motion will make more sense with the proper progression and technique. :)

    I have a few tips on the 540 just in case you are interested. When I was learning it, I started off by doing the chamber only. (A chamber is usually something you do before you extend your kick to give it more technique and power.) I took a step with my kicking leg and landed on it a few tries later. Starting off with the chamber helps a lot. After a lot of practice, I slowly started extending my kick. After a few months I got it down. I was really surprised by how quickly you got it down. I think that if you just practice a little more, you can master it. Also, don't practice the 540 when you are hurt, because this can lead to permanent damage. There still is a lot of techniques and tips to the 540, but I just covered some of the basics. I hope this helps you with the 540 in case you are interested. This was a really cool video!

  • @steamynoodles507
    @steamynoodles507 3 роки тому +19

    I think one of the main reasons it was so hard was because of your body positioning, I noticed in almost all of the clips your body was leaning significantly towards one side, if you try to keep your body upright, and pull your arms closer to your body, it becomes much easier to spin quickly and stay upright, as well as landing your kick. This will help you significantly in extending your kicking leg so it is more of a kick rather than a knee up.

    One thing to note to make things a little bit more easier to practice. When you do the 180 then skip up for the 360 spin and is about to do the kicking motion, I suggest you like almost practice raising the non kicking leg diagonally and practice leaning over it or like jumping over the non kicking leg/raising leg. And if you get it done you should land with your kicking leg :> hope it helps

      Haha trust me, I thought the same but the kick definitely isn't impossible. Just make sure you aren't kicking up but instead horizontal and again just focus on the jumping at first before moving onto the kick.

      Sounds painful. I've been training martial arts for over 10 years. I have some recommendations for you: If you're pulling your muscles, you most likely need to train your flexibility and standing kicks still. Afterwards, Mastering a 360 tornado kick is a good place to start. Build your way up. Stay safe 🌎BG🔥

    Don’t train through pain bro it’s there for a reason if if you successfully learned it becuase of your pain ur movements are restricted and your body will cheer to achieve it’s goal meaning you will learn the improper movement and could hurt yourself in later attempts also the more you hurt yourself training the longer you have to take of just remember to train your body you need to look after it 🤙👍
