So after 15 years, there is no KDSS, an old motor, reduced boot space and fuel tank, Adblue and a price increase.. Toyota is on a roll

Forgot less 2nd and 3rd row space. No global round headlamps option. But...all new price $$$$

Ordered a Kakadu a week ago and was told worst case scenario I'll get it in 12 to 15 months.....

Not to mention we were one of the last countries to get the new Prado.....

Whenever Toyota releases a better product, I’ve realized that there will be compromise to make it a better product but somehow negative people always don’t see the good but the %5 of the bad. Mostly the bad is a small fraction.
This is true in real life. Great things to learn.

@boxoffisa Even the new 250 series has a stick to hold up the bonnet like my 22 year old rav4. The previous Prado has gas struts to hold the bonnet up but latest 250 doesn't. The small things matter. The downgrades matter. When the price has increased considerably.

Absolutely disappointed with this new release

Yea such a disappointment. You can sum it up here. The small things. No front bonnet hydraulic lift. So much plastic.

@Murrayhewitt1967 Yes I was told 150 series has hydraulic gas struts for the bonnet. Makes no sense why the 250 has a stick to hold the bonnet up like my 22 year old Rav4...

Why would you not have a drawer in the back with a flip down front you can sit on?

AdBlue use when towing heavy loads ?

    • @marklaurendet1861
      @marklaurendet1861 18 годин тому

I think they have abandoned the towing market
No space in rear, reduced fuel etc.
4Wd options just for bragging rights in city use ?
Good for day or overnight trips I suppose. That is what their market is to Toyota. Perhaps in the main they are right who knows.
But it certainly is not the old Prado's some have come to love, shame really
But hopefully we may see better models coming in the future

@@marklaurendet1861 Agree and they have reduced the payload from the previous model. One reviewer speculated that AdBlue may need to be filled every 2,000 k's when towing heavy loads. I have a relative who owned a current model Disco and always had stress when towing his 2.7 T van as the AdBlue would be used up very quickly. I believe the price now is up to $4 a litre.

I think this has been designed for day or overnight trips at best. The boot and reduced fuel to me means Toyoto has abandened their old towing market.
Shame as an existing Prado owner there is no upgrade path for me.
Hard to believe after 15 years they release this, maybe new models coming that are better suited to touring.
    .
Not sure on this one but it appears no partnership for extras like Ford & ARB. If this correct fit anything to overcome the shortcomings of the new Prado and probably loose your warranty.
OH well, that new Ford Ranger that will be heavy duty looks better every day now

Time to buy Ford Everest or Isuzu as both are more practical, better looking, better space management

I always enjoy the first few reviews that manufacturers paid for, they always have good things to say. Awaiting the people who didn't get invited to the press release to get their hands on one and tell us the truth.

need to move the spare out from under - caused massive compromise to rear boot/seat arrangement.
Primary concern must have been the soccer mum school pickup needing electric tailgate.

I would still prefer the LC200 V8 over this

need to see a side by side review in same off-road terrain between the new Prado GX (maybe GXL) and Everest Sport (price equivalent) ... Altitude is like an extra $10-15k more

Sometimes you come to see a review and it gets ruined by negative people who don’t wanna buy but to comment negatively. See all these negatives while I placed my order. Been seeing this car and it’s indeed good for my needs. I am getting one. But these negatives on every video are somehow beyond stupid. Just buy old one or a Benz or a cayenne. Stop this nonsense of negativity.

I don't think it's a coordinated review bombing. A lot of people are disappointed with this product, especially those who were looking to upgrade their old prado. It's important for customers to give negative feedback so companies don't get complacent, like this.

Not really a tow vehicle, toyota just lost a massive chunk of the market.
