That’s really pretty but I feel like it’s a waste of product unless you use the rest on your lips or something, cause I see a lot of makeup artists do this and they never show what they do with the rest 🙃
tbh after the first time trying it youll know how much to place on your hand. yes a little will remain smudged on your hand but it wont be enough to be considered a waste.
i would just use a little bit of it on my cheeks and blend it with my hand. or use it as lipstick first then tap a little bit of the product on my lips with my finger, then put it on my cheeks
MUA’s do this for hygienic purposes, which truthfully they should be using a mixing palette for, not the back of their hands. The idea is to separate the product from the container to gain access to it, without the applicator of said container touching the skin of a client, which would cause bacterial contamination. Leading to them being unable to utilize it on any other clients. By transferring the product from the applicator to a sterile mixing palette, the artist can dip their brush into the mixing palette to pick up product and then apply it to the client. As for what they do with leftover product on their mixing palette, they discard it when cleaning and sanitizing the palette after an application with that client has been completed.
The issue is applying too much and unevenly, and can depend on the type of blush one's using. Some blush can go a long way for a tiny dot. And applying it to the fingertips would just have the same effect as applying it directly to the face.
It's wasted if you put too much on your face. You buy makeup to look a certain way, so it's also a waste if the way you apply it can't possibly reach that goal.
Yeah, I don't get why they don't use the same technique as for buildable foundations. Just use a bit, blend, and then add more if you need to. The only reason I'd put it on the back of my hand first is to warm it up, but it's not like your cheek is ice cold compared to your hand. 🙄
instead of wasting so much product you can just take a small amount and spread it along the cheeks. just do the second step first with the smallest bit of product
Amazing but I think you could just apply a little amount of blush and then blend it out very soon before it gets stained as a way to prevent waste the product on your hand
I used to do that and trust me, it's harder to blend a cream blush if you put it directly on your face. you'll end up wasting more than you should have anyway from trying to blend it in and it'll still look patchy. or you'll ruin the base once you get the right look. the purpose of using the back of your hand to blend the first drops is to break the blush down so you can put it layer by layer on your cheek and not the other way around. it may look a lot, but it's really not a lot amount of blush used on the hand. you're just seeing it as a lot because she spreads it wide when blending
Hi, Haley. I just wanted to thank you for making me confident & comfortable enough with my own skin & going foundation free ( yes, even concealer free). Thank you for being such a huge influence in my foundation free journey. Your videos have been really helpful, love you so much! 🤍
So do I. I used to put a lot of make up on my skin. But putting some make up on my hand and blending on my skin is really good. Now I am quite confident with few make up and it's really natural .
You can also put it on a pallet. You don’t need as much as she put, but she was just trying to show an example of what to do. I do know the brand and color of that blush though.
I do like to put it a bit lower on my face, kind of in the center, because I have a very long skinny/hollow-cheeks face, so that trick makes my face look fuller 😅
God I saw the thumbnail and it was how I used to do my cream blush 😂😭 I just realized that I looked a bit ridiculous with that amount of blush. I don't use blush as much anymore though.
I always did it directly on my face, but some products just don't blend well enough. You're right, putting it on the back of your hand first gives much more control
No. Just apply one little stroke on the face, then blend it, then do the same thing again over and over untill you get the result that you want, and not actually waste product on the hand
If you guys are worried about waste, use a glass palette instead of your hand. The palette won't absorb the product and it's more hygienic in general. Also, be mindful of the amount ESPECIALLY with high pigment liquid blush.
The point of the blush application is not the she puts product on her hand, idk why everyone keeps mentioning that. This tip shes showing is accurate. With cream products, youre supposed to apply small amounts at a time and layer one on top of the other until your reach desired coverage or pigment. This also applies to foundation and concealer. The reason cakey finishes happen is cuz everyone dumps a crap ton of product directly to the face all at once and dont blend it out properly cuz all of that product has no where to go. I learned this same technique from Pony syndrome, a famous South Korean makeup artist. Obviously you can put less product on your hand, thats not the point lmao.
People saying that the blush left on the hand is wasted. No. She made a video for demo purposes and that's why used slightly more than necessary. You can normally just use 2-3 drops based on your blush's consistency and pigmentation and believe me it won't go to waste. Lastly, makeup spreads on the skin as it gets warm so it might appear that there's a lot left on your skin but it's actually not that much, it's just smudging and spreading due to the skin's heat and ofc your application process.

@@TrustMeIKnowThingsmakeup artists wash their hands.
The back of your hands warms the product.
I have never used a mixing plate in my life
You can also put a bit of blush straight onto your fingertip, then apply it to your cheeks!
Yes, that way you won’t be wasting so much product.
warming the blush with your fingers first before applying leads to a more natural finish
The issue is applying too much and unevenly, and can depend on the type of blush one's using. Some blush can go a long way for a tiny dot. And applying it to the fingertips would just have the same effect as applying it directly to the face.
Exactly!!!!
No, the blush on the hand would be wasted
Better overblushed than waste, right!
It's wasted if you put too much on your face. You buy makeup to look a certain way, so it's also a waste if the way you apply it can't possibly reach that goal.
Put the amount you use then.

Great tip about horizontal motions! I always want my blush to be high on my cheeks and not dip down too low and look weird aha.
Glad it was helpful! it works well to not to go too low :)

How about we add a little bit on the face, smudge it to see how it looks like and add more if needed?
I know unbelievable but maybe give it a try
Thanks for sharing ❤
My goodness you're gorgeous😊❤
Thank you😊
Hi Haley! How about for powdered blush products?
I always use this technique and it really works 😍
This us a good tip esp for the rare beauty blush
Beautiful😍✨❤
Love the shade and it looks good on you. What’s the shade of this lippie and brand?
Nice !
That mistake you said so, it's because you didn't blend it well. You can directly put lil amount on your cheeks and blend it well.
I adore saie blushes formula! What shade is that one?
Yes..what shade is this??😊
it's the liquid blush from saie(shade rosy)@@amyyoung2804

Love you ❤
I did this for years 😍
No. Just apply one little stroke on the face, then blend it, then do the same thing again over and over untill you get the result that you want, and not actually waste product on the hand
Just get a mini clear jar swab there first then dip. You can seal the jar and reuse till out
Nah, it looks almost invisible and what about wasted product
just put less liquid on your face, stop at one-two tiny dots instead of wasting your product on hand;)
Can you tell me about simple makeup tips with product🥺
If you guys are worried about waste, use a glass palette instead of your hand. The palette won't absorb the product and it's more hygienic in general. Also, be mindful of the amount ESPECIALLY with high pigment liquid blush.
My korean blush wont work with that technique. Because it gets to dry quickly
All her tips are “first apply it on your hand and then apply it on your face”
When i done this technique in the summer my aunt said me how beautifully tanned you are and I was like it is makeupp💅😂
“Prodoc”💀
Cakep bgt mba
gurlie I hope I nail your techniques for my uni grad. even though idk how to mke my indian self be like you. HELP MEEE!!
I simply apply lipstick or tint on my lips and buff that, then I use the residue from that for my cheeks. Works just fine and zero waste.
Pls tutor w powder blush😢
im not gonna waste my blush
Mam can you share your hair care routine, please
I’ll do this next time😊
The free concert😩
Superb
Just mix your blush with a little of your foundation to make it blend better into your skin
Would it also work for blush powder?
I mean, you can put the blush a little bit at a time right?
if i don't look sunburnt i don't want it
I realized i naturally do this
Omg what lip shade are u wearing?
Would you teach us your technique if it is a tint not a creamy blush?
You drew a pink heart on the back of your right hand 😄😄

Hi what shade is that? 😊
Sorry but u blended it so much until it disapeared .by thé way nice technic🌕
Why not just use your finger to tap the blush brush then put it on your cheek. Then you’re not wasting any and you still get the same result.
Melo, why wasnt there a live video?
You do whatever you want
