What’s so good about this watch? Having owned some G-Shocks in my life, I can say they are very tough and mostly utilitarian in design. Yes, there have been many fashion themed editions with so many different colours, but the Casio in this video seems like a different and possibly classier way into a trendy yet tough watch. I hope you enjoy my take on this watch with a detailed look at this watch overall.

Ok, ok, you twisted my arm 😂 i was looking for something different to the standard black G-Shock but i can't pull off yellow or red. Very compact watch, I had quite a few of them over the years. Don't have one at the moment. I'm playing around with my very first Ali Express that arrived today, an Addies pilot style diver with an NH35 movement and I'm very impressed everything is perfect, + 4 spd.....€62 equivalent including customs. Now I'm waiting for my Heimdallr Monster hoping it'll be as good! You've gotten me all nostalgic now, reckon I'll have to buy a Gshock! Excellent video!

I picked the gray primarily because of the positive display. I do not know why they use the negative so much? Not sure why people think the negative is so cool.

Mine arrived yesterday ... also got the grey version. This has become an iconic time piece. Grey is also a great all round color - that would work in any season.
This is my second G-shock ... my other is a blacked out negative display DW-5600.
Just catching up on this video now. After being totally ambivalent to the Casioak and not really getting the hype the past few months I’ve really come around to them! I even like the customised rainbow ones you see out there (although I would wouldn’t personally pay the money people are charging for them) so definitely seems a perfect mod platform.Total SNES vibes with this colourway too! Or maybe even original PlayStation!
Would love to know how you get on if you do mod this one yourself.

Only made a bid on one of these yesterday,in grey aswell. Mainly want it because the grey has been discontinued.

I have several of these in different color ways. The light can adjusted to stay on for up to five seconds.
I am curious: Can you set the analog hands to match the world time? (I read somewhere that this feature is not available on the 2100.) Thanks.
A few weeks ago Casio were marketing the 'mini' casioak as a woman's watch, they seem to have changed their marketing recently though. I love the idea of a Nintendoak, I'd buy the luminous replacement chaptering though as the gray version is supposed to be discontinued (best to keep the original parts in perfect condition). I respect this watch and i am glad so many people are getting pleasure from it but I don't feel the need to own one. The light is pathetic (fine for $30 but not over $100) and the lume is token. While i like the overall shape which seems like a genuine step forwards from Casio, i don't like the arrangement of the dial and the only colour ways that look good to me are the yellow one and the black with white indices. The other colour ways all look washed out to me which makes it hard to see the details on the watch.

Got the same colour. I thought the strap, compared to my 5610, was less comfortable..so..I got colour straps from Ali ..looked good in red but the bezel was flimsy..so got an original red bezel. It looks good. Agreed, just add solar Casio.
The mid size needs less bling & a stealth version.

How do you like the gray colour?After you had the grey one did u feel like you wish you could gone for other colours instead?
Grey is cool, but a bit too heavy on the grey! A black or dark grey strap would help break it up
You can get aftermarket chapter rings with lumed indices, an easy mod.
Sounds very good actually, any recommendations where to get them?
@@watchmewithwatches I've seen them on Ebay but they cost almost as much as the watch, there are some guides on YT but I think they were home made with lume paint.
Hi Dan, got the black/white goes on the wrist more times than not. Thinking of getting a modding kit strap,metal bezel etc,just can’t make up my mind to what colour strap there’s so many to choose from. Enjoy the grey it’s one of the better colours.
Its tempting, but apparently they don't comform too well unless you have 7inch or larger wrist.
I’m just over 7 inches so will keep looking might find the right colour.

Hi Dan I love Casio's but with this one I find I'm a bit on the fence, 45mm seems big but it seemed to fit you fine the lume and backlight could be better, not a fan of the day indicator , like it more now than I did an hour ago so it seems to be growing on me cheers ...stay safe
I wish the lume or light was better, but the size is actually great and never feels too cumbersome.
I have the very same watch and lemme tell you, this wears like a 40mm(coming from a dude with 6,75in wrist)

This watch series always look 10x better in person, red one gets too much hate because on videos it just pops way too much.

I got one yesterday. Set it all up easy enough. It wears great! Recommend it highly.
