UPDATE: It had been 4 months since the release of this video, and it looks like lots of people are using this as a decider between the two. Since the release of this video, the Golf+ team has released 2 new full courses, with a 3rd on the way in December '22. They have also made a lot of quality of life/UI fixes. In this same time, the Golf eClub dev team accomplishments have barely been seen. They released a tournament based on the existing courses, but in the way of new content, there is little. There has also not been a large amount of quality of life fixes that would make the game better.
Thanks for the update, so to be clear, it seems it's a clear preference and recommendation on Golf+ over eClub correct? eClub just seems so much cheaper especially during the current sale.
@@JordanSilveira23 That is the other thing that has happened over time, Golf+'s price has gone up significantly. I think by a full $10 since the release of this video. eClub is a good golf simulator still. If you want a single-player experience for a short while, eClub is perfectly fine, but if you are wanting to play with all different types of folks and enter competitive tournaments, Golf+ is still the outright winner. They have the content and user base.
The main difference is that Golf+ always has people ready to play. When trying Golf5 there is never anyone to play with. Also with Golf+ you can use sticks with the controller. I have not been able to do that with Golf5.
If golf plus has slower greens definitely tells me your playing on novice. You can swing with one hand and the ball go straight. Putt on pro I bet every putt finds it’s way off the green
Even with my opinion I still think you did an excellent job comparing I watched all 7:17 and was entertained. I’m gonna try e club I really love golf plus tho except my controller spazzes out when I’m hitting driver sometimes
I tried to switch between the novice and pro options when I was doing the comparison on TopGolf and full 18s, but I actually distinctly remember booting up Golf+ to test the putting green prior to recording. You are 100% right, I definitely didn't check the putting differences between Novice and Pro. I made an assumption that green speed would be the same between the two and the direction of the shot is the only thing that changed.
Thank you so much! eClub is a fun, well-done golf game, but it just doesn't have the community and competitive scene that Golf+ does. Which in VR, is so rare.
@@noblesquashy Great review...Green speed is a separate setting that you can choose on any difficulty....We have slow, medium, fast and pro green speeds and they all have their set 'stimp'....Keep up the great work!
@@GOLFPLUSVR Thank you! And thank you for the reply on this. It was definitely a mistake on my part as I was testing all of the settings through the first few times. I've learned how fast it can go now based on my three putt sinks 😅
I honestly think Golf eClub has done a pretty good job maximizing graphics on the Quest. Probably the closest we are going to get on current HMDs. Its just tough to make a multi-employee business not selling your game on the Quest line-up. My hope is that right now, VR game devs are maximizing their physic engines, and then in the future, they can apply it to higher end HMDs with way better graphics. You are definitely not alone in that sentiment.
Can you let me know what GOLF game I could play with an HP G2 with WMR , I have a 4090 so I might have enough power to run the HP G2 but I heard Frames are pretty brutal and it ruins immersion if you don't find the right games. Any help is appreciated. And I have Game-Pass (Basic or regular version) So I have some free game opportunities as part of that game-pass, but I'm finding that they only give you jank games other than like MSFS-2020 and maybe one racing game (forgot the name but its like version 5 of the racing game)
Golf+ is Oculus only. You may be able to play Golf eClub 5 by buying it on Steam, but I would check the requirements or email their team to verify before buying. I know nothing about HP G2 personally.
@@noblesquashy I don't have Steam, just Game-Pass, which is Microsoft Store stuff but a subscription, and not the premium subscription either, just the normal Game-Pass. Like it's 12 bucks a month, I know that's expensive, but it's the only thing they had
@@OctoAito I don't have an X-Box. And I can run VR on MSFS-2020, which I got from Game-Pass. Do you know if the Pimax Crystal is better than HP G2? or does the PIMAX Crystal not have earphone pieces (G2 includes ear muffs which is great sounding but allows you to also hear room voices to interact with friends)
so all in all it looks like TGC VR is better than both of these then. it has i think 12 18 hole courses. ive played 5 or 6 of them. I really wish one of the games would allow you to drive the carts to the next spot is my only real wish . having that seems stupid but when you are in game it grants a more immersive feel to it. that imho would be great and knock any contender into second place and if you dont like driving the cart, give the option to skip it. on a side note, I would love to see tgc 2019 championship in vr. it looks fantastic already but in VR would be so awesome.
TGC VR hasn't been updated in 5 years. Golf+ has over 12 18 hole courses and is constantly updated. I'm doubtful that it is doing better than Golf+, which at this point, is the best VR Golf game in the biz.
Great video, thank you! I've heard good things about both, but I appreciate how thorough and simple you kept this review! I just won a Quest 2 from work, and would love to get other friends into it as well, for a Winter (we live in Michigan) golf league. So i should probably buy both to test out, especially since they both keep adding features/updates...
They really are both heating up in the features section. Lots of new stuff always coming out. Recently I've found myself playing Golf+ a bit more. The Golf+ discord has a great section for getting games going and they host consistent tournaments and challenges! Hope you enjoy!
Do you get everything included with Golf 5 if you install it on a Quest 1? Golf+ full courses only appear on Quest 2, all you get on a Quest 1 is the putting practice and Topgolf. I have a young nephew with an original Quest 1 and we found out the hard way after buying and installing Golf+ that he was limited to what he could play and now he has to invest in a Quest 2 to get the full experience.
I only have the Q2, so I'm not able to test directly. However, I can't find anything on the game or on the website that says any part of eClub is not available on Q1. I would definitely expect any restrictions to be on the game's website: www.aaagamestudios.com/golf-5-eclub/ or Oclulus page: www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/4113720305326115/ Looks like you are good to go.
Man watching this is tough cause I would like to play in those little tournaments and have better graphics in golf e5 but overall golf plus is better and I don’t know what to get now
Golf+ also has a ton of tournaments, they just aren't in the games. You can join their discord here: discord.gg/golfplus. Discord is easily the biggest resource for VR sport's game tourneys in general. Golf+ also has weekly leaderboard challenges in-game.
I recently played ForeVr Pool with someone that prefered golf e5 over golf+ but he said it was difficult to find matches online, that is not the case with golf+
