How? This was utter crap. Not only did they change and bastardize most of the details, they some how fucked up all of the characters. Not a single character acted in accordance with his/her character ideals, goals and philosophy.
I did not expect perfect or even amazing when I started to watch the show as I had a long time ago decided that the only way this story could be told correctly was going to be on showtime or other studio of similar production value. The story and characters are complex with a large cast. Yet I decided to see what they came up with, and it was like Eragon all over again. Only worse, as instead of a single disaster that once you see it, you never have to watch again, this way you get an entire series of broken, twisted plot lines. Characters that were added or fused with other characters. Hell even the basic values of what drove the main characters were destroyed.
The only good thing about the show, was the actors. They did the best they could with what they were presented with.
I strongly suggest you read the books starting with Wizards First Rule. If after reading it you still think that this show was well done, then I salute you sir or madam. They Took a series that could have been a book a season possibly two seasons per book as the story moved along, but chose instead to try and stuff almost 14 books in to a couple of seasons. Jeez I there is about a novel of things I could rant about but lets leave it at that.

THANK YOU!!! and yes zed1stwizard is right...while Denna was training Richard Cara did some training with him. he told Cara that he remembered everything done to him by her in the book Chainfire. didn't see in the book that Denna was retrieving an object for Darken Rahl tho...and no Cara was not a lesbian in the books...She loved Benjamin lol...Berdine and Raina were intimately together tho and that was a romance in itself that i love sooooo much and bawled like a baby in Temple of the Winds.

cara never tried to partion her mind and she never had a son. Richard partioned his mind the first day he was with Denna. Denna offered herself to Richard to kill at the end. She was in her birthday suit sitting on her bed waiting for Richard to come back from Darken Rahl's questions. He used love to kill denna and she even put the sword point to her heart and told him to twist the handle to make sure the deed was done right. She asked Richard to take her last breath of life and her agiel to remember her by.

This serie really sucked. Let's change everything. Lets take everything that made the seeker unique and just make him angry and solve everything with violense. Lets redo darken to a short and darkhaired one cause you know, that's what evil people look like, right?
And for god sake, don't let the sword glow white because he, after being tortured for a loooooong time show compasion and forgive his tormentor, no no... Let it be pure rage instead. Rush trough one of the most important things shaping the seeker to be able to show more women in leather... yeay.
