To add more storage you could always add a shelf on top of the washer and dryer and have a complete and unified look 😀 otherwise it's looking amazing!!

Love the look and how clean it all looks also LOVE LG they are my go to for everything! One note to think about I've seen lots of posts from rental property owners who say guests steal all their laundry supplies, especially the pods. They get small containers for guests that only hold enough for their stay. As spendy as that stuff is gotta protect it!

Yes! I think I'm going to put a lock on the cabinets and only provide (like what you said) just a few pods per guest. It's so hard to trust people sadly

Lovely, make me think I could fit a stackable in my laundry area. That is after an upper cabinet was removed. The only thing I would have added would be hanging bar for hanging wet clothes. Or even hanging clothes while folding. ❤️👏
I think I am going to add a hanging rack to the left side of the closet!!

I love how this looks! As someone who has sensitive skin, I always appreciate knowing what brands you put into the fancy containers. Maybe add a cheat sheet attached to the inside of the cabinet door? More labels probably wouldn't be as pretty but just something that shows ingredients.

Good tip!! Once we get more of a flow in the house, I for sure should add more labels for clarification!
Cleaning out the dryer vent (huge cause of fires in the usa if ignored) seems challenging, unless the units have a way of getting a vaccuum from inside the dryer, or you will have to go from the roof. Something to consider. I would also consider getting your cabinet maker to 'frame' the left and top side to hide the water supply if it doesnt impede with your way of getting them in or out, and make it larger to accommodate differences in model dimensions down the road. Make sure your countertops dont overhand too much on the right side, as that wiggle room was probably what allowed you to get them in there.
This is so wild that you bring this up, because just yesterday I asked my contractor to show me where the vent let out....and it in fact goes to the roof but it does have a couple of 90 degree turns to get to the exit point. Definitely trying to come up with a good plan to clean it out
@@ErinRobinson If you have access to a air compressor, they make attachments for cleaning vents that the pros use. For my home, I disassemble a panel in the dryer and attach a shop vac inside the dryer, then from the roof send down the air hose. I am sure there are videos out there about this! Good luck, looks great! I remodel about 25 homes a year I know your pain!

A small rod or even a low profile retractable clothes line so you have a spot to hang items to dry!
A lot of folks have mentioned this! I might add one of the retraceable options to the left side of the closet. The only thing I'm trying to determine is how much I will use that feature as a vacation home

They're white oak veneer and stained but the stain was a custom mix from my cabinet fabricator

If I could go back in time I would have stacked mine like you did! Instead we put a counter above our washer and dryer and it’s too tall to use comfortably since it was dictated by the height of the appliances and yes reaching over to get to the stuff in the cabinets above is so annoying! I had to put a step stool in there for both. Too expensive to redo but definitely learned my lesson!
At least the step stool can help! I live with your exact same setup in my own house, so I went into it already knowing this pain point! We have to live and learn I guess!
If I ever do the renovation that I want to do to my bathroom, that is the type of closet laundry room I want to put into it. Thanks for giving me idea of what it would actually look like in real life, versus just in my head.😆 Your home is coming along beautifully. 🏡

The laundry room is kind of like the last room to get "finished" generally since most people never see it! As long as it works for you, take your time getting to it!

@@ErinRobinson I understand, my heart is with you 💖 I think I can, some of my walls are fully solid because it's a concrete building. I think I can try to find a stud with a good magnet that I have, but we have tried it on a wall we thought was okay but the whole thing is concrete behind it 😅 Any recommendations on how to make it happen anyway? I've heard of a type of drill gun, but I'm not sure?
@@robynhalyard9100 Hummm, I am sure there's some sort of drill bit especially made for concrete that you can use with your regular drill. Another idea is obviously some seriously strong adhesive mounting options. I feel like 3M has a sticky solution for everything these days. I also would recommend a tension rod if you need a place to hang dry clothes. Just make sure it's a heavy duty one

@@ErinRobinson yeah. I kinda knew right from the first video where you explained everything you wanted to work on, change and fix that this was going to be a monster project. But I didn't know how incredibly up to the challenge you were. The knowledge you already had and the commitment to learn anything you don't and the willingness to get in there and get your hands dirty was all surprising to me. It shouldn't have been but it has been. Just really nice work Erin. Top to bottom.

@@ErinRobinson to be complete honest, although I do work in construction, I'm a civil engineer by occupation with a background in landscape architecture so my expertise mainly pertains to the area (land) that is being developed before and during construction so basically the exterior of buildings, parking lots. I've worked a lot on golf courses😄 . I'm quite certain you have acquired more expertise on the interior restoration of a building than I will ever know LOL.

I love how you turned a small laundry space into a nice space. I have a hard time deciding on how to decorate/design a space lol! We just bought a home in September and I’ve yet to really commit to a style for any room! 🤦🏻♀️😂 Are you using this as an Airbnb type place?
My biggest tip is to decide the things that YOU personally need vs what you've seen in other laundry rooms. For instance, since this is an airbnb I wasn't too worried about putting a hanging bar in there because we won't have many delicates in the house but if you have a lot of things you want to hang dry, make sure you have a creative way to air dry/hang those items
