Although I live in Italy, I love diner scenes in american movies! I noticed that the portions/dishes are 2-4 times bigger than a person would normally eat here. Which means that - if I ever manage to travel to the US with friends - I would save a LOT of money by splitting the portions with them.
Restaurant portions are big in America, I have never visited Italy but I have visited Norway and we paid more money for smaller portions, I also noticed that in Norway (and I’ve heard other Americans who’ve been to Europe say this is the case around Europe) they don’t have take out boxes really available. In the US if you feel your portion is too big nearly every restaurant will give you a styrofoam clamshell box on your request to take any food you don’t finish at the restaurant. I eat breakfast at a lot of diners, but rarely when I eat lunch and dinner and I never eat the whole plate, I take half of it home because it’s too much food otherwise
America is a Huge and a great country and it is neither from the music industry People nor from the movies people...it is great because of REGULAR...EVERYDAY...PEOPLE
I live in Ohio and I’m so happy I found ur show. My daughter lived in Medina amd we go up their a few times a month. Come this summer I hope this pandemic is gone and we can go exploring. U have all these eat shows but u also have car ride exploring shows I can’t wait to check out. Thank u

I cooked in many diners and he's right, the hard part is getting it all together at the same time. You might have one at the table order steak, next person an eggs breakfast etc. You have to know when to start things and when to put your toast down, and on and on. It can get confusing. I always got spaghetti because it was usually pretty good wherever you went. But when they got to the part on the piroghis and cabbage rolls kielbasi and Lake Erie perch, that brought back memories of home. Indescribably good when cooked by a little old Polish woman. And even though I live in California now, I'll never forget the Cleveland girls whose families came from strong ethnic backgrounds. They were something else.

George's Kitchen in Cleveland (Triskett and Berea) is the best diner in NE Ohio! Great food, great prices, and great employees.... I love that place! Been going here for decades! Best breakfast and lunch in town!

That guy split a biscuit and put a little bit of gravy on it and then put the top back on. You are supposed to dump the bowl of gravy over the biscuits.
The food is so good he was there 5 years ago and didn't visit since? 1:29 . Anyway, diners are fantastic and you get much better quality then fast food restaurants most of the time at about the same price.
It may sound nice but when you say that the portions are so big that everyone needs a takeout box take the leftovers home, means that profit is walking out the door. I do not like to throw away food and do not really like left overs. I prefer to eat a normal sized meal and not throw away food that you take home and eventually throw it away. My opinion.
@@Larryloafer488 You can basically everything make yourself at home. Hashbrowns etc is super easy. Unless you try doing the Swiss Rösti, wich may take some patience 😁
Diners in NY are expensive as restaurants. So not much incentive to patronize them over a chain restaurant, unless they’re RIGHT on your block. Price isn’t the draw, like it seems to be in Cleveland.
