I kept tightening and Un tightening it and was wondering wth was the problem after watching your video I felt dumb and remembered what I had to do lol Thanks !
Dude, You can lower the rear of your hood on this car by putting a washer between the hinge and the hood at the front hole. Seems counterintuitive but what this does is it lets the hood hinge rotate farther forward and lowers the back of it which is setting the height. You can also get some side to side alignment by loosening all four hood bolts and then pushing it to the side you need it moved and then tightening them. Provided you have enough slop in your holes.
Hey guys ... I have a 99 mustang I’m having that same exact problem he just showed in the video, only i replaced the hinges twice and cant get it even, she closes fully but its uneven and higher on one end,,., any help pleaseeeeee !!!!
If the car has been in any form of an accident it may keep it from lining up. I also have more to do on this car because I aligned the door and fender and need them actually both aligned to the hood
ik this is from 4 years ago. So brother got into a lil accident. ive been trying to aligned this hood. Do you think it be easier to just buy new hinges and do the same as u basically did or should i buy a new hood. I have a honda civic 09 DXG version
@@dannyjohnsonsgaragedo you reckon like the whole front could be lowered a bit and then on one side it’s lifted up a little more from a pole I ran into trying my best without buying a new hood but might just end up buying a new one
Well I pulled a mustang move and hit a curb; lesson learned and bent my lower part of the radiator core and has the exact alignment issues you have. Any advice?
It will have to be straightened on the frame area where it’s bent. If you can find the area you might be able to use ratchet straps to yank it back, but it may need to go to a body shop
this isn't going to help me any. i've got a car that was in a crash twice before and the hood hinges are off, the fenders are off, and i have no initial starting point/measurements for anything. the old hood hinges and fenders were bent and taken off the car and the car was sitting for 3 months, to make things worse this type of car, the fender cowls cover up the hood hinge bolts, so you cannot tighten or adjust them without removing the fenders first, which then defeats the whole point of aligning everything. i dont even know how or where to begin.
Damn did you ever fix it? I got into an accident and damaged my hood grille and bumper and I’ve replaced everything besides the hood and I might not now based on this video if I get the hinges and it fits better I might just have it repainted and added body filler to save the $600+ bucks of a new hood.
I've hit 4 deer with my '03. (Iowa.) Everything but the front bumper cover is aligned, the side mounts where it bolts to the fender are broken off. Is there any way to re-attatch those brackets? It's got me stumped.
It might be difficult if they’re completely broken off, but you could see how I epoxy’d them back on for this bumper ua-cam.com/video/e7kZ03hPyx4/v-deo.html
Man I’ve been looking for hood hinges for my 92’ Buick Riviera, and I have had zero luck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. No I do not want to sell or junk this car.
Thank you! All this time I thought my hood was bent after a minor fender bender
Awesome video saved me from pulling my hair out with frustration on aligning with hood clip lock ... thanks for that video

Thanks. I’ll have to move everything around with a second set of hands
I'm slowly restoring you're sisters old 03 gt and I've watched soo many of you're videos too and they've helped so much😅😅
Amazing video! I'm doing this for my Avalon and I didnt even know that you need to adjust the hood, thank you!
Very helpful thank you
for people who speak English, fender is a wing and a hood is a bonnet 😊
Well done..doesn't look to hard..really appreciate the video..
Thanks to you ❤
Yes mine too on toyota camry 2011 thank you for the video
Thanks I’m getting some new ones ..
Did getting new ones work for your hood?
Very helpful video, similar on the 05 Jags

It all depends on where it’s bent

Its crazy what can get bent and damaged from hitting a deer...I know all to well.

I have the same exact problem but on my Chrysler 300 one side is higher then other. Where do u buy ur hinges ?
Salvage yard
My hood flew off my car pulling out the stud bolts leaving a hole on the frame don't know how to go about it to fix it
You’ll need someone to weld on and bolt on a new strip of steel for the new hood hinges to bolt into

awesome money savings here!!!!!!
Do you recommend buying used oem or new aftermarket for a Cobra?
I had tried getting second set of oem but they seem bent too.
I would think they are discontinued by now unless you find them on eBay or something.
Where can we get the part?
At a salvage yard or eBay is probably you best bet
Legend saved me 💪💪!!
Just wondering. Do you know what that ground is for?
It’s just to ground the hood. The car runs without it
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage i would think it's for the light but I guess not lol. I wonder why the hood would need to be grounded?
Watching this after my hood came up and broke my windshield
i love you danny
thanks but mine wasn't an accident.

RockAuto, or junkyards I suppose. It’s hard finding parts for the early 90s GM stuff these days. At least in my experience owning a ‘94 Cutlass
👌👌👌👌👌
Yank crap car
