My first time seeing the High Rollers and I loved seeing Rhiannon laugh so much, I'm going to have to check out their adventures, if only to see more of that!
Can't help but chuckle at Johnny expecting Corazon and Dob to behave themselves. You think he'd know by now there only one rule to oxventuring: Chaos is a ladder.
Anybody DMing 10 people is a bit of a handful. But imagine the magic if they could pull it off. I'll settle for seeing the other side if things with the people that didn't get to play this time.
This was hilarious, I hope they do do more together. My two favourite D&D groups, Oxventure introduced me to D&D and High Rollers is the campaign that I look forward to each week. They are both great for different reasons, but they've both been very special over the last several years, and it was lovely to see them play off each other.
For anyone who hasn't watched the Oxventures yet, 1) what are you waiting for, 2) this is the average amount of shenanigans, and the puns were actually less frequent than usual. Speaking of puns, "but it is greaseful" was great, but "SMASH THE CISTERN" has to be number 1. Luke Westaway, take a freaking bow.
"You all passed my morality test well done." Meanwhile in Corazon's inner thoughts *"sigh... I miss Prudance, she'd have loved to send 10 people to the furnace..."*
Hulmes is so accustomed to watching chaos run rampant, the man just sat & smiled. Ahhh Prudence's influence is complete... Corazon suggests sacrificing civilians.
The horror on Johnny's face when the team discussed exchanging gifts (at 1:51:35), no doubt worried that it would end up being something game breaking they would have to account for in Oxventure.
I don't think so, it's something Luke already did during Watch Out!, and Johnny accounted for it perfectly. I believe he was more worried by what would have happened if Dob and Corazon gifted something weird to the others, because then it would have been much less under his control: imagine "We should exchange items to prove it wasn't a dream. You see, I have this magical Hammer of Etholfrith the Builder..."
@@alessiomusolino4642 i agree. Johnny is not the type that would worry about a simple item in his game, but creating madness in someone else's campaing would. btw, it would be extra fun if Dob used the hammer here, since the skeletons also created an union. plus, 60 skeletons and one flaming skull would create so much problems for the "totally not jeff bezos" owner of the company. since, you know, they are immune to any damage other than the hammer itself. and they would destroy the company everytime someone asked them to do anything...
Merilwen is the only one from the oxventure that is not chaotic. Dob and Egbert are chaotic good (they try to good things in the most insane ways possible), Corazón is chaotic neutral (if possible, he avoids killing, but can easily kick an old man to death and WILL steal from anyone) and Prudence is chaotic evil (murder for days). I love that the Oxventurers (Prudence does the same with red for tieflings) use that single stripe to suggest the skin tone. Very subtle and cool.
Woke up this morning after listening to an episode of HR Curse of Strahd thinking "I wonder if Mark and Johnny Chiodini have done anything together". This was an amazing find, the two teams that got me into D&D.
It would've been interesting to hear that morality test conversation with Prudence present, because she would've been totally for sending ten people to the furnace :D
At first I thought it was an Into The Electric Castle deal and I was impressed with the prog metal deep cut I assumed Johnny was pulling, but when the Amazon company town satire dropped I absolutely creased.
