Wow! Marty and Daniel. Two of my favorite dudes!! Daniel, I have both your Young Man's Country and Cosmic Country albums on repeat when I'm driving. They are just so melodic and tasteful. I'm so glad you are getting the recognition you are. Hoping you come to play in the Bay Area. (besides Tahoe LOL). Thank you for sharing this great lesson.
I get so much mileage out of double stops and this is by far the best "how to" lesson I've seen. Learnt some new tricks here. They are great to improvise with and for the most part sound good no matter what you do. You seem to find yourself naturally chasing the chords. Great for ear development. Thanks for the great vid.
Amazing, I've always known this is a blind spot in my playing and haven't devoted any practice time to it. This is just what I needed, thanks Marty and Dan!
Discussed finding the SAME minor and major shape” at different places But depending on strings used in double stop, form changes for same note in scale. Drastic difference between dstops on G and B, then demo on D and G for A note.
A timely lesson for me, I’m trying to learn double stops and keep looking for a specific pattern to emerge. There has to be a trick for learning this without so much thought going into it. I must be missing something. Thanks Marty and Daniel.
When you first descend the chromatic Amaj scale,...I mean I get the major and minor thirds but what notes are you using too harmonize the chromatic tones of the G-string? I mean I can hear it and can slow the video down but a simple explanation would speed up my retention of what I'm playing. That's how I really learn theory...I mean I like too write it down...then improvise.
Indeed, what a wonderful lesson made simple. I’ve been looking for this explained and never found it… then I stumbled on this video and almost didn’t watch it. I do have a question though… I see this is in the key of A… (maybe a dumb question) but how do I do this in other keys? Thanks again… I’m excited to practice this lesson. May Peace Prevail! ✌️🙏🎸
Couple things for Sir, Marty Schwartz. You've been great to learn from. Your newer Playlist item riff theory is great keep it up please. Also could you invite Daniel Donato for one of them please? Maybe he could teach us about theory of his tasty ass riffs in his song Justice. That would be so sweet. Thank you again both of you for your lessons and inspiration.
I was not ready to have my mind blown and the first couple exercises you know, I watch a lot of videos and don’t finish all of them. Doing them all at once though across the different strings and hearing it. It’s unreal when you think I’ve been playing the major scale all these years and it could have sounded like this .
You did that very well. I could see your finger and the frets they were on. Not many people do that which makes it difficult to figure out what they are doing.
Thank you. Good stuff Daniel. Question: As you move between notes of the scale (chromatically) how do determine if the double stops are major or minor? Are there rules?
Thanks man! You truly are a guitar guru and I have learned so much from you so I just wanted to thank you again. I know you probably won't see this reply or w/e but wanted to.say it anyway
Great lesson Daniel, thank you. I totally could use more double stops in my playing. Just need to practice the hybrid picking a little more and I think I’ll get this down. People say you can’t learn guitar on UA-cam but I beg to differ. I’m not a pro player or anything but I’ve definitely learned a lot from gracious people like Marty and Daniel. If you seek to learn how to do proper bends, arpeggios, double stops etc. you can easily find videos to support that and gain the knowledge needed to apply this stuff to your playing. Lessons like this are invaluable to me and I appreciate it so much. Thank you Marty & Daniel Take it easy ✌🏻
Whooaaaa, I been away. What'd I miss? Tom Petty and this? Got some catching up to do, Marty. Don't send me to summer school, I'll make up the work, I promise. ✌️ ☮️

Double stops are just so fun, especially in more laid back blues and/or rock. Adds depth and harmony! Cheers for this collaboration.

Ok so I have a lot to learn about guitar playing but this lesson kinda blew my mind. Thank you both

Thanks from Mont-Tremblant Québec.

Yo that’s cool
I’m gonna rewatch this a bunch so I can hammer it in. Great lesson
Thanks for the lesson, this really helped me to get more out of blues playing!
Luv the explanation. I still have a hard time distinguishing a diminished by ear. Rock on.👍👍✌️
Glad to know what that is.
partial chord, power chord, double stop, or simply an interval

I cant seem to find highway to hell solo on your channel? (Could you teach me, master?)

What an incredible and super useful lesson- Thanks Daniel and Marty!
That tele tho 😮💨
Great lesson and sick tele, thanks!
Great lesson. Coulda used some tabs on the chromatics as there are just too many variables.
Thank you, Daniel, I finally understand the 3rd and 6th double stops.
Love the double stop 😃
Great lesson!
Now if I can find a lesson on Willie Nelson style double stops!
Ive been loving with double stop since 2 years ago

I can hear Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison in that lesson ❤
Hey Marty. How long have you been playing just curious?
I started playing 30 years ago
Thanks man! You truly are a guitar guru and I have learned so much from you so I just wanted to thank you again. I know you probably won't see this reply or w/e but wanted to.say it anyway
