Dig those old photos and ads in the cabin. Nice score on the showers. That's cool that you got to see the burros too. So many cool places you found along the trail... What a great trek.
explorethewest Hey Charlie it was a great trip. Lots to see. Highly recommended but don't plan on getting a cabin if you go. We were just really lucky this time. We were lucky to get a shower too because someone claimed the cabin as soon as we left.
@@mobiltec I've only ever heard the area further down described by this Tom Mahood guy, who found the remains of those Germans. I'd love to see footage of someone hiking out there one day. Again, great video. Enjoyed it.
LOL @ "What's in here? Closet... dead body..." That's a pretty well outfitted cabin, or rather a cabin complex. And as the video progresses... lots of cabins out there, looking entirely habitable. That was quite an adventure!
Anonymoose Out of the three times I have been out there this is the first time I have found one of the cabins unoccupied. It was really nice. Right after I filmed Russell's Cabin with the shower it became occupied. They don't stay vacant very long.
+Thunder Adventure Company You'll have a great time. You'll want to go in the back way from 127 through Warm Springs. That's the way we came out. Going in through Goler Wash is pretty brutal going over Mengel Pass. The down hill part is a rock garden and without very high clearance and big tires you'll beat your Jeep to death. I didn't take video of that because I was so busy.
Thunder Adventure Company If you search Mengel Pass here on you tube you'll see plenty of videos showing what it looks like going through that rock garden.
Mobiltec, been a while since I watch your videos, but enjoyable and interesting. Last time I communicated with you, you were having some eye issues. How did it turn out or not resolved yet? I was thinking about going to Rileys Camp, do you turn off at the corral on CR and how far is it down the road. Thanks again and I hope that you are doing well. John
Hi John, It's been so long since I went to Riley's Camp that I don't remember the route off hand. I know it's right behind the Morning Star Mine and that is how I would find it again. The eye is good again. As good as it will get anyhow but pretty dang good. It took 3 years and 5 operations but I'm now seeing out of it better than the left one. Soon I will need to have cataract surgery on the left one but that's pretty straight forward and common. Thanks for asking.
Hi Mobiltech have you ever traveled on state road 395 beteewn death valley and yosemite. I am wondering just how busy a road it is. Looks like it might be less peopled way to get in and out of yosemite and sequoia thanks David
mobiltec Thanks, that sounds good, I hate driving in traffic when I want to look at the scenery......looking at the map I don't think sequoia has a way into it from the east side but Yosemite does.THanksDavid
Wanna bet ? hee,hee....South of death valley is the El Paso Peaks, Black Mountain country, got any video's on that?...A friend of mine Terry Carter just interviewed me on that a few months ago and recently released the video on it here on youtube about the Desert Giants or the Nephilim. I spent decades out in that country too. Love the Desert. I'm a old guy now, still a prospector, happy to see folks like you all out and exploring.
Thanks for an interesting trip. Will check out more of your videos...

Very cool series. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for making this video. I know it's old by now, but not many people go down Anvil Canyon to make videos like this.
We thought about hiking further but our time was limited. Thanks for watching.

superdave0002 Hi Dave, I've traveled that route a lot. Never had any problems with traffic. It's a great highway.

superdave0002 You can hike there.
How often do you see snakes ?
In 25 years of exploring the deserts and mountains, I have only run across one rattle snake.
Exactly if you're lost set a fire and someone will find you especially if you throw some plastic in the fire.
Like Your Video's, searched for the Russell Hugne Lost Ledge 3 times...Find the story from Eugene L. Conrotto's "Lost Desert Bonanzas", ......
I've heard the story. Even if you found it there is nothing you could do with it though.
