Just bought this laptop! I’m beyond excited it should be here today! I built my pc around 6 years ago and it’s finally nearly absolute and I play newer games on med-low settings. So I figured it was time for an upgrade. However, I’m currently pursuing my career and furthering my relationship with my girlfriend which has pulled me away from home where my desktop is. So for the last 3 years I have not really got the use out of my gaming desktop as I had should. I recently was just looking at gaming laptops and came across this laptop and my jaw dropped. The price was incredible and too good to pass up so I ended up buying it! Anyhow thank you for the insight on what I should be expecting today!
Hello @dalportodev! I'm a first time viewer and i have been enjoying your content. Was looking for a decent gaming setup for a reasonable price point and this video (also your other EVOO full review video) convinced me to purchase it. I'm getting this exact same laptop you have here tomorrow. Can't wait to game on it. Love the content keep it up!
Don't stop watching my videos! 😂 This is hard to avoid with computing technology because the industry advances so fast throughout the year. The predator Helios 300 is a great laptop, still better than this one perhaps in some ways. Still need to check thermals in this Evoo laptop.
I had the same problem and ended up returning my asus Zephrus gu502 to get the acer Helios 300 Got the same RTX 2060 gpu but I like the ability to have a normal 2.5 inch hard drive as well as two ssds But ended up having to buy the 17 inch model of the Helios cuz microcenter is the only store around that carries any newer acer laptops in stock and doesn’t force you to order online only like bestbuy does and I couldn’t wait to get the 15inch while having no laptop at all
I got me one of those … Best bang for the buck . The THX audio software is kinda nice at times with the normalize feature but mostly useless … Im really happy with it . just missing on a thunderbolt . It does get hot at times .. When im rendering or gaming but nothing too major
I read it's just a rebrand Chinese market laptop. Considering most products made in China is cheap junk, I'm worry about the reliability and durability if they cut corners just to get the price that low.
Nice review! Looking forward for the full review of the labtop. I hv the 15” GTX 1660ti one can I do the same thermo setup as the 17”? Will you be able to do the review on the 15”?Tks
I'd love to see some under-volting on this bad boy, she does have some trouble keeping her CPU under thermal control during gaming loads when the GPU is soaking the sinks.
This laptop is undervolted out of the box. -.05 in the BIOS. I've had this machine for a few days and I'm quite impressed. Great thermals and sound quality (with headphones). I like it much better than my Alienware m15.
@@darrell9616 I noticed that setting in the BIOS as well. The thermals are generally under control but when the GPU and CPU load up I'd like to see better CPU temps however they have crammed a lot of hardware into a very thin machine. I find the internal speakers to be very inconsistent, mostly they don't have enough volume but for some reason in WC3 reforged they are much louder than in Battlefront 2 which is strange to me.
@@trevorshubin I always use headphones, so I don't have any feedback on the speakers. My XPS 15 from 7 years ago was my favorite. Everything else I've tried has been terrible in regards to speakers. I think that the thermals are great considering the HW. I do use a cooling pad, though. Even with a video overclock I've had no thermal throttle at all. A significantly better experience than with my 2 Alienware machines.
I jus picked up the 15in version for 799 I7 pro, 512SSD, 16G ram, gtx1660i graphics card .... I bought more for business home designing ,music production, and video editing .... U never get these specs for this price
How easy is it to get it to Canada? If I ship it to my post office in the US and I need a return for whatever reason, will it be free of charge in Canada?
Could you please check yours for light bleeding? I have this laptop as well and the light bleeding is pretty severe. You can see it clearly after you press the power button and Evoo logo screen appears.
The price changes every few days, I guess Walmart can't make up their mind. I picked it up for $999.99. I've seen it priced at $1099.99 as well so who knows what price it will be tomorrow.
When I'm gaming with this laptop my Temperatures get to 80c. I don't know much about gaming laptops, but I don't think that's to good. What could I do to cool it down. Any recommended setting tweets I should do overall on the laptop. Also thoughts on cooling pad? Any particular one that works well? Thank you!
@@kaseybakker7201 undervolt means that u lower the voltage in the cpu but leave the same speed (lower voltage = less heat). There is others videos that show u how to undervolt the cpu (here in youtube is other user with the same Evoo doing it)
That's a really great point I've been meaning to add. In the process of getting my hands on a top of the line industry microphone to start adding ones worth listening to. 👌
Are these drivers up to date? EVOO is using last years OP (OverPowered) designation which suggest older drivers.. The proprietary THX drivers aren't on the website which is unfortunate since Microsoft deleted them during the first Windows update.
Very well said, I have one of these and I can confirm the conclusions of this video. Very solid machine overall.
Hey, how are thermals? Mainly the cpu?
Looking into this, does it still hold up?

Epic! Thanks for watching hope your wait for the new laptop goes by quickly. 😂😂
Get the upgraded battery and double battery life. There are 2 nvme slots, awesome
Thanks for the review! I'm debating on getting this one....so so close.
Wait for my full review in a few days. Thanks for watching!
@@dalportodev Will do. Thanks!
Ive been curious about this laptop. i figured the battery would be one of the shortcuts they took in making the otherwise great machine.
Yeah it's too bad. I like being able to stretch laptop batteries out to at least 5 or 6 hours to make me happy. Thanks for commenting! 👏
great review mate, that laptop is sure interesting
It definitely is when considering the price. Thanks for watching!

It has some of the best thermals. On turbo with a mild undervolt I never see above 75c on cpu or 65c on gpu when running stress tests.
I need to stop watching laptop videos since I bought my Helios 300. I just see the other options I had.

How is it running so far?
Any issues?
Is the ram upgradable ? To like 64 GB ? Also many ppl complain about the spacebar key not working ? Any similar issues ?
Upgradable up to 32GB
At the time of the recording what price was the laptop
How is it now? Still hold up? Any problems?
Where can I buy this please i don't find the button "buy"
