  • My recordings of FM radio signals from The Netherlands (aka. "Holland") received here near Warsaw in Poland at night of 9/10 September 2023 via 1000km tropospheric propagation. Unusually for this time of year hot + dry weather conditions resulted with extremely distant FM radio reception. I first noticed weak Dutch signals (from Smilde) at 20:15 LT CET, NL peaked at 23-0h (104.6 performing the best) and continued till around 2AM (97.5 was the last of 6 signals to be discovered).
    Logged transmitters:
    Smilde/Hoogersmilde (NPO Radio1 91.8 and NPO Radio2 88.0 - both 90kW @1007km)
    Markelo (NPO R1 98.4 and NPO R2 104.6 - both 30kW @1007km),
    Groningen (Radio Noord 97.5, 20kW@993km)
also: a suspected Dutch pirate briefly on 95.9 (not included in this compilation)
Receiver: Sony XDR-F1HD + 5 element Yagi antenna, Vertical polarisation (all NL FM broadcasts V)
Location: Góra Kalwaria, 30km south of Warsaw's centre
