25: Three Peaceful Days - Belhaven, NC to Norfolk, VA

  • Well, after no small helping of anxious moments with our malfunctioning bow thruster and anchor windlass caused by our melting battery banks, we had three beautiful days of peaceful cruising as we traveled from Belhaven, North Carolina to Norfolk, Virginia.
We're working to reduce the time between our video releases and the actual events, so this episode spans three travel days instead of our normal single day. One of the benefits of covering a few cruising days in just one episode is that you get to see a more compressed view of a few of our normal day-to-day operations - e.g., waiting for bridges to open, anchoring, docking, and the like.
Anyway, after our three-day trip, we docked at Waterside Marina just in time to attend the America's Great Loop Cruisers Association (AGLCA - www.greatloop....) Spring Rendezvous. This was our first AGLCA spring rendezvous, but we previously attended two of their fall rendezvous at Joe Wheeler State Park in Rogersville, Alabama on the Tennessee River. They are always wonderful events filled with fellow boaters, lots of fun, and excellent information.
We say it in each episode, but we'll say it again here: Thank you for watching! We appreciate your time and comments.
    Onward!
    Guy and Vickie...and Sailor too

I ride the ferry at 3:45 nearly every day. Maybe I even watched you guys pass. Enjoyed your video and look forward to the next. Thanks.

That's fun to know. That ferry was busy while we were there. What a great place for you to commute. 😎

That's a great place to live! We really enjoyed the area. Great place for walking, riding our scooters, cycling, sightseeing, etc.

I started following your videos a few weeks ago and I’m really enjoying them. However, if I could make one request. Although it may be painful for you to relive 😂, could you add a minute or so into your next episode of the repairs that were made of your windlass and batteries? Thank you. Keep up the great vids and fair winds and following seas to you two!

      Hi, Seawizz!
Thank you so much for watching, for your kind encouragement, and for asking about the battery adventure thing. 😎 That's a great idea and we'll most certainly include that soon and let you know when it's published. We think it could be good content for a bonus episode that just focuses on that whole story.
      Thanks for the idea!

Watch out for the eagles with Sailor. I’ve seen eagles carry off goats!!!

If you want to expand viewership, please run video of your boat at the start. What kind of boat do you have? Very frustrating...

Thank you for the idea, Jeff.
Our boat is a 1994 Kadey-Krogen 42 Widebody. Our idea list includes doing a video introduction to ONWARD and your idea just pushed that item higher up the list. 😎
