That's so true hes rare and one of a kind and he has a voice that's like a wolf howling at the moon his voice is crisp and clear and he can hold his notes for a long time. My wolf dog is named after the rev his name is Jimmy and his fur is grey and white and ye has silver blue eyes

This is amazing. The guitar in the beginning, the jam session in the middle, Jimmy's vocals! I need to own this! Maybe as a Self Titled anniversary re-release?

I should note that I ripped everything prior to knowing about better quality file formats. Most of it is from prior to 2015.

I came across A7X recently and got hooked immediately. Could not stop listening. Of couse I started looking the guys up and found that all my favorites came from the Rev. I cried so much when I found out he had died. I got drawn in by his weirdly playful grooves that make total sense when put together with the other parts of his songs.
Imo he was a genius. Such a loss! I still can‘t help tearing up when I hear Fiction or his part in critical acclaim. I will never see him live. 🥺
The main riff in Scream was written by Zach
Y’all forgot a DRUMMER wrote all parts of most of the song and demoed them for the rest of the band. You would not have the first 4 avenged sevenfold albums without him. Y’all hate for no good reason
Jimmy was by far what made Avenged the band that it was.

This is not really true. He only contributed songwriting to self titled and Nightmare. He helped write a little bit of MIA off of City Of Evil but not much else on the first 3 albums. Although his writing was outstanding on those 2 albums.

I’m amazed that the rev was behind so much of the work for avenged. They’re all obviously talented but they even talk about the rev as a musical prodigy and amazing drummer that’s irreplaceable. On top of his rare vocal style

It honestly Sounds more like Syn on this one whereas Until The End sounded like Rev
or probably Rev low keys, like Fiction's end.. hard to know
The voice in the beginning sounded a lot like Jimmy but after half a minute I feel like it switched to Syn or something. Maybe both?
@@hellomynameisdia8530 I don't think that's jimmy at the start either, because at the very end of it, before it "switches voices," (0:29) he goes down a little, and it still sounds like syn.

Jimmy's voice was really precise in the high range, like, that's exactly where he sounded the best, but this sounds nearly exactly like syn does at this range.
@@Brattleborg dig into Jimmy's work more and you will know who did these parts.
I've known and know that ppl surely gets confused with certain Jimmy's voice as Gates's
@@uraharakisuke101 I don't really think so. it's lacking the texture that made Jimmy's voice so unique. It has the nasally-ness of Syns.
In the past I've confused Syn's and Jimmy's voice in the HIGHER range, but low range is a whole different game.
I can't picture Jimmy being the singer behind the second verse, when it's lowered an octave.

What? No fans hate on Jimmy. He also didn’t start writing songs until ST and then really got into it when writing Nightmare. Prior to that it was mainly Matt and Brian who were and remain the primary song writers.
Hello... What are you referencing? If you are talking about the hate in the comments... It's likely due to me leaking the three demo songs that I got from Jimmy's drug buddies 8.5 years ago.
So the last part of the song is made by zacky! damn and his riff here is pretty cool

How do you get this ? From where?
I got this from Brian Cherry and someone named Matt something along with stuff of Jimmy's that was in Leanna's hands but somehow ended up in their hands. I believe that they were some of Jimmy's friends that dabbled in drugs. Don't really remember all that much as this was 8 years ago. I gave most of what I had (minus a few things I kept for sentimental reasons (a tour pass of Jimmy's that I kept in my server book prior to a few head injuries and Matt's Under 21 License. I'm pretty sure I kept Jimmy's Blockbuster card as well) back to Joe and Barbara Sullivan. Joe was so nice and understanding. I wish that I would have talked to them prior to last year, but eh.

How did you manage to get hold of these demos?
I'm pretty sure Jimmy's drug buddies stole them from Leanna and I found some of Jimmy's stuff on eBay nine years ago. Talked to them for a while, tried getting the stuff back to someone in the band and never happened. Pretty sketchy guys, I sent money to them via Wells Fargo cash deposit into their account and Western Union. Ended up sending almost everything of Jimmy's that I had back to Joe Sullivan in 2022.
Also, the band should have known of me having these demo songs. Was in communication with World Audience in 2015. Failed to get offered the $1500 I spent on the stuff (or anything for that matter), so the deal never materialized. I ended up getting $500 from Joe a few months after I sent him the stuff as he offered from the get go that he give me something. I never wanted the stuff. Thought it was odd that this stuff wasn't with the band or not in a storage unit, but what can you do?

Shame seeing stuff get split up and lost, although having seen my grand mother pass last year and the aftermath of most of her stuff going "missing", I can see how it would happen, especially with someone famous and a lot of connections. Very nice to hear they got his belongings back in the end, was a good thing you did.
Like, he obviously wrote a lot of these. But don’t forget how much he fucked his drum kit every take. God damn
