@NIOCARAES i could definitely go for a hg taurus from gundam wing, but im also okay with them making good kits like this one. if you think about it, even the grandaddy gundam has like 15+ different versions... and most of the newer ones are legitimately better than the older ones. redoing popular kits obviously make enough profit to keep doin it
In my opinion, the Mk-II is the perfected "original" Gundam design by far. The RX-78 is iconic but goofy looking imo, the Zeta just looks like a worse version of the Mk-II for me, and every other time they've designed a Gundam with the purpose of recreating that original look they haven't quite got it. There are mobile suits I like more and even Gundam designs I like more, but the Mk-II is the best of this specific design idea.

There's an irony to the sturdiness of the usual Mk.II kit. Within the series/U.C. timeline itself, the Gundam Mk.II had several rigidity problems that the Titans couldn't quite fix even after several revisions... but the plastic model kit in real-life stays together _so much better_ than the infamous problems with the usual Zeta kit [minus the Ver. Ka version for the latter, which finally fixes the transformation].
Especially the Real Grade kits. My Mk II is still going strong and stable after 12 years, meanwhile the RG Zeta breaks apart when you so much as glance at it.

The MKII is definitely one of my favorite Gundams, it has such a really awesome bulky look but its movable frame allows so much flexibility out of it and still able to keep up with the transformable suits the titans have been pumping out. Also in series that this suit's movable frame allowed the AUEG to perfect project zeta leading to the creation of the Zeta Gundam, yeah truly a well made Gundam.
In-universe the Mk-2 survived until after the events of Unicorn, Banagher piloted a modified one, probably the same unit used by Kamille, Emma and Elle. The Mk-2 Is basically the vilage's bycicle.
Was just shelf browsing and came across this kit. Didn't buy it the first time I saw it, but after some thought I caved. Can say without out a doubt that this is my favorite looking high grade. Honestly inspired me to get the real grade.
Best of the official Revive kits in my opinion. A Japanese guy I know loves this kit a lot and I can see why to the point that I even painted the eyes, chest sensors and headset. I need to build the AEUG Real Type colors version I got from Gundam Base Tokyo eventually.
The best Gundam. Now do the PG, which is one of the oldest and one of the most satisfying builds despite its many flaws :P In case people don't know, the Mk-II PG is over 20 years old and uses screws, which makes the ankles really weak and prone to falling over. However, it has a lot of interesting internals and fun things going on like spring suspension, metal "cables" and a lot of opening panels, that most of the later PG's don't have, up until the PGU. The Unicorn for example, it has its transformation gimmick like the MG and RG does, but there's not much else going on with it. The Strikes and the Astrays similarly also don't have a lot of gimmicks or that many internals. Because it's not that easy to build, it's actually more satisfying than the PGU is, in a way. Even though the quality is worlds apart, you can feel that they really tried to experiment with the Mk-II while with the PGU they tried to perfect a smooth experience. So smooth that it's a little too effortless. Plus it's WAY cheaper and doesn't need a separate lighting pack.
Everyone forgets this one undocumented detail. There is a removable panel on the back pack which exposes a peg hole. This is so that the Revive can use the G-Defensor that came with the og HG of the MK II in the early 2000s. So yes... you CAN make the Super Gundam
I think that’s just inherent with the Mk II’s design and the order in which Bandai releases kits. Every new line that isn’t explicitly for non-protagonist mobile suits starts with the RX-78-2, with which the problems of the line arise. The Mk II usually gets released later, so it can learn from the teething issues the RX-78-2 had to deal with. On top of this, the Mk II has no core fighter or other transforming gimmick, so more focus can be put into making it a solid kit.
I've been watching your videos for a little while now, wanting to try this Hobby. I finally took the plunge and just finished building this same model kit. I'm hooked already! I feel like this was a good kit to start with. Now I need to figure out where to start with panel lining and damage/weathering. I really appreciate your content, it has helped me out greatly so far!
11:08 There is another solution for stands. The backpack has a little plug hiding another peg in the middle of the back. It is right between the joint for the two wing parts. It is meant to work as a way to mount the shield on the back, just like the RX-78 Revive. So this can be used as a mounting point that frees up leg articulation.
I will admit that the Gundam MKII is one of my favorite suits alongside the RX-78-2. I once took a Titan’s HG MKII Revive and turned it into a zombie mobile suit for a Halloween display at my local hobby shop a couple years ago that I dubbed the ZOM-B13 Zombie Gundam.
This the first mobile suit I've ever built, I should probably go back to it and upgrade it a bit (sand it, panel line it, etc...). What a fenomenal kit

Absolutely love the mk ii high grade! I have the titans version. The only oroblem i have with it is with my kit the ankles and knees are sooooo loose. I have to pose it on a stand or else itll just fall over all the time.
Kinda need to added another extra information, hg mk ii have an extra single hole attachments in his backpack. So literally, he can equip some of single peg accessories or even some build strike backpack on it. 👀👀👀
This was made so that the Revive can use the G-Defensor armor that came with the og HG kit from the early 2000s. So you can make the Super Gundam mk II
also the Revive Mk-II can store its Beam Rifle on its hip-skirts as in there are two pegs on the rear of the Beam Rifle that slots into the rectangular holes on said hip-skirts which is kinda rare for a HGUC kit.
I bought the Gundam Base 21st Century Real Type version of this kit. Comes in a really nice gray color which I think suits the Mk-2 nicely. As for the kit itself, it's really a great example of what a good HG should be IMO: Solid, good posing and minimal stickers needed.

I made the mistake of buying a RX-93 Nu Gundam to add to my small collection of Gundams and Shinkalions but it towered over all of them and ruined the display I had created. This one has a very similar look and colour scheme and looks the same height as my others so I'm going to buy one next week from my local hobby store that has just started selling these and then find a completely new spot to display my RX-93 Nu Gundam on its own.
of the HGUC kits I've built so far (RX 78-2 revive, MkII revive, Zeta revive, and Zaku II revive) this one is the best. I'm considering spending the money to get a P-bandai G-Defenser for it
Dont... just buy the old HG Super Gundam Mk II... there is a panel that can be removed on the Revives backpack that accommodates the old HG G-Defensor. Save yourself some money
I've had this kit for a long time and I really like it. I didn't know about the collapsing shield feature at all! I do know about this secret feature though: On the backpack of this Gundam, there's a hidden attachment point if you pop off a panel. This can be useful for customization. I think the articulation is flexible and solid over time, but the ankles can get weak. I love the way you can store all of the weapons on the model kit.
The best looking version of this kit is definitely the Gundam Base 21st Century Real Type (the grey version). If you can pick one up and you like the HG revive MK II, I highly recommend
I just recently built the Titans version of this kit. It was an interesting kit to build compared to the very old HG of it that I built when I was a kid.
quick tips, the flap on the lower part of it's head kind of in a way when looking up. You guys can cut/sand it if you guys want to make the flying pose better
Now that we'll be seeing the backlog in the future, I also wonder if we can always add the crouching pose in every articulation section for testing the overall lower body movement of a model kit since some of them are quite limited or unnatural when doing crouch poses.
This got a reprint within the last year, right...? I saw it on shelves in Japan last August and picked up the Titans colors stateside in November. I don't think it'd be cheaper to order on Buyee atm. Also, I'd argue that this has a pretty robust inner frame in all 4 limbs. I remember displaying one side with the armor off bc I was so impressed when I first built the AEUG colors in 2015. Compared to the old AEUG one I built 9 years ago, the Titans one I built a few months ago has looser ankle polycaps, to the point where it literally couldn't stand lol. Nothing some glue didn't fix, but you can see why Bandai moved away from polycaps. Too much potential variance between 2 copies of the same kit.
Such a masculine, powerful design that if you are not familiar with the lore, you would think that Mk II could crush Unicorn and Mighty Strike Freedom with one hand with a beer mug on the other...
The revive is so good, I wasn't a huge fan of the suit mean I like it okay but it was like kind of just whatever but this kit made me love the mk 2 it's just so good
when Im about to buy this kit, I actually have a hard time to choose either hg gundam mk 2 or super gundam. but in the end, I choose gundam mk 2 since I was collecting all ms for Gundam Team in ZZ. totally worth it
For the longest time, I didn’t like this design. But then I bought the G-Diffuser from P-Bandai (remade to support the RG version), and I had to get the MK II, so I bought this kit over the better RG because I’m a HG collector. But I’m loving this kit, this design after turning this into the Super Gundam.
Kit looks nice, but mine became pretty loose at the legs, feet and one shoulder pretty quick. Noticed it slowly beginning to lean forward after a few days.

That ver ka zeta looks to have higher quality that most high end transformers lmao.

More than likely will purchase this kit this week. If its in stock. Intending on a build day with the kids, I found some Pokepla for them last week.
The Titans Mk.II's frame is the more traditional grey and can use the build hands edge, with less color clashing.
I have it and its one of my favorite HG kits, found 1 at my Hobby Lobby in Farmington, New Mexico i even got the Titans version.
of the HGUC kits I've built so far (RX 78-2 revive, MkII revive, Zeta revive, and Zaku II revive) this one is the best. I'm considering spending the money to get a P-bandai G-Defenser for it
