I’m sorry the comments are incredibly negative. It’s not fair to criticize some young people giving an amazing effort and frankly, an awesome video. I hope you guys are still making films.
Agreed; people's expectations are quite laughable considering that the original book itself has actually been described as "experimental," and that the Navidson Record in the book is constantly praised as being genuine precisely because it's not Hollywood-level. I see this as an experimental short film for an experimental book about an experimental documentary. In that sense, it's most appropriate.
I'm watching these videos as I'm reading the book for the first time. Always careful not to go into spoiler territory. I think you guys are doing a great job even though it's not entirely accurate.
the bag people are supposed to be celebrities. in the book it mentions the family has 2 celebrities over (a couple I'm guessing) but doesn't specify who. This is just an funny way of showing it.
The ashen hallways and the spiral staircase from House of Leaves meets the black lodge in twin peaks with the backwards speaking voices on the ppl with bags over their heads. Interesting.
I guess they are just doinst doing their own version of events. Not only is Reston supposed to be black and wheelchair bound, but all these guys are supposed to be in their forties. And Tom is supposed to be fat. Nonetheless I won't judge, I loved the book and I find these vids interesting.
During the Will / Karen interview you forgot to make the word house blue at least once. I wouldn't nit-pick, but I was so glad to see someone doing cool subtitling (which I feel is essential to a HOL adaptation, since so much of the weirdness is in the words) that I feel obliged to let you know about this one oversight.
I actually do recall something similar being described in the book, either during this particular scene or during another. The implication is that the "magic" of the house interferes with Navidson's equipment--when Karen buys a compass, for example, the needle never stays still, not once.
no, youre not an ass. just a bit harsh. its not somethin great in the field of acting but you didnt have to point the obvious. i dont beleive they felt it was great acting either. this is just a tribute, you know?
Well, apparently you don't, but you have to admit she's not that great. I'm not saying I would be, I'm just saying it would be more entertaining to watch if the acting was better. And I did say I like the videos, so I don't think I qualify as an ass, but I appreciate your opinion anyways. :)

I'm currently dying in my apartment. I feel compelled to scratch the floor....
I thought Reston was a black dude in a wheelchair...

SAME I bought the book last month and was really surprised to find these videos and read along
This really feels like something I shouldn't have seen... well done!!
It gives me Lonely girl 16 vibes .. takes me back to 2009.
I love this. Great adaptation 😳🤩🤩

I think it's supposed to play on the fact that the book also does the same thing by switching up the languages at inconvenient moments.
Oh nooo the David Lynch backwards talking!
Reston is a black dude in a wheelchair... But I guess it would've been too difficult to put in practice(he moves a lot)
poor Reston is rough on those crutches

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I thought the paper bag thing was pretty rad
ne comprenant pas angais, j'ai mis la traduction en français, mais c'est traduit n'importe comment . dommage, très mal traduit
Sure was nice of them to invite their alien friends over.
what's with all those subtitles changing language all the time ?

Yeah I know, I guess I'm just a bit picky on those things... And it is a good video, despite the few errors. I love the book.
Yep, Reston is a black man in a wheelchair, not a white woman in cruches.
Hate to nitpick about Reston...it's so hard to see a blonde girl take the role , but you did what you had to do.

"Du behöver alla dessa prylar du bara kommer att utforska en maskerad för skriker högljutt."
Google Translate or intentional mistranslation?
Nick Simmons.
@turtnip AAAAAAAA the loveliest douche of them all haha
And again, "Karen" has bad acting skills. But otherwise, I like the videos.
wt effin f? i just noticed that
I don't get this at all, just a bunch of bad acting as far as I can tell. Story makes zero sense.

and MALE!! XD
Wow you really lost me here.... I take it you had no crippled black friends to play Reston? And no good actresses were available to play Karen?
