The Braveheart Tourbillon, A Milestone For Bovet 1822

  • The Braveheart Tourbillon project has existed since Pascal Raffy bought the brand in 2001. This special model, which includes a flying tourbillon with no circular balance wheel and an in-house cylindrical hairspring, was the first project he started. The Braveheart is an achievement for Raffy because it also embodies the final step of an integrative industrial process. Indeed, after acquiring the Bovetbrand , Raffy also purchased several industry suppliers in order to create a manufacture. The Braveheart, as well as the Virtuoso II, another movement that we will soon bring you more information on, can be seen as the ultimate step of the process. Apart from that, the Braveheart also marks the beginning of various horological concepts Bovet works with. First, the design is even more precise and well-balanced than on previous pieces, and naturally there are no less than 6 patents, which include one for the convertible Amadeo system. This system is like a tribute to the history of portable watches as it allows the owner to wear the watch as a wristwach, a pocket watch, or a table watch with just a few flips of the wrist. Really well done.

This makes the top Rolex, Rado etc watches look like mid range or even low range watches. Just unbelievable. I am actually motivated to work harder towards buying this wonderful piece of art, of time which this watch in itself is timeless!

It is said that the limit of our language is the limit of our mind. Hearing this gentleman describing what he produces, well no wonder his timepieces as so beautiful as if I may , his capacity to use the English Language is amongst the best in detail and vocabulary. Congratulations .

Marc André, it was nice meeting you at Baselworld today. I had to think quite some time about your question which video that is my favourite, this has to be the one! You're showing out most respect for the people being interviewed and keeping a really high quality on the content! Looking forward to see more video coverage about the House of Bovet! Greetings from Sweden. 👌😊

Towards the end, he expresses his view of watches that gives you time but a time piece gives you emotion etc After watching quite a few of these excellent videos, I have a very new respectful appreciation of these time pieces. I see why people with means would spend coins on such beautiful works of art. This Braveheart Tourbilion would certainly sit in my collection. It is gorgeous perfection of movement of time. The best that I can hope for is to 3D print a tourbilion and admire what it takes to make it smaller and smaller to fit into a wristwatch...

Raffy is right - even if I was unaware of the many patents and the philosophy behind the integration of the various complications - I have an emotional response to this piece.

+Cormac Brissett We think that emotion is the first and necessary motivation to get interested to a watch. A good one is when you let the heart aside and the the brain sees also that every detail is legitimate, well done, coherent. Thank you for your comment!

The top looks like the hand piece of a 80s-90s telephone and that is a turnoff. Also wouldn't it be just a little more impressive looking if it is a off-centre tourbillon?
