- L&T announced a merger of LTI and Mindtree. Together they become $3.5 billion company and india's 56h largest IT company. How this will impact the employees and who are impacted. We analyze the impact.

LTI, which clocked $2.1 billion in revenue in the 2021-22 financial year, has domain expertise across BFSI, manufacturing, energy & utilities. It employs over 46,000 employees.
While mindtree has strength in communications, media & technology, CPG, retail and manufacturing verticals. It closed 2021-22 financial year with $1.4 billion in revenue employing 35,000 people. The combined entity will have 81,719 employees.
Having strength in one doesn't meant they did not have vertical heads. It's true that they may be strong in one area. Just hit a search on Google for some leaders in BFSI in mindtree. You will get many names

I have one question. I am a QA Automation resource having 11 years of experience in TCS.
I am having offers from Infosys and Mindtree in my current city. Infosys CTC includes 15% variable pay. Mindtree CTC is 10% higher than Infosys and it is all fixed, no variables.
I am confused whether should I join Mindtree due to money or join Infosys due to brand name since the job offers are in the same city where I am currently staying.
I am not sure on the job security in Mindtree.
Please help me decide.

I got the offer from mindtree (4lpa) and virtusa (5.5lpa). Virtusa offers full stack role with 2 years bond. Idk what role will be there in Mindtree and no bond. Which one should I choose?
if you can take care of traninig part, go for higher one. not much difference.

@@vaibhavgoel1473 if this is for me, salary negotiation is an art. In normal times, each company sets its budget for a profile howver these times its like no bar The best option is to have a counter offer. Or if you have only one, try to have other by the day of joining

I would go with Fiserv for work life balance ..but it really depends on project.

working on Tata technologies means working for automotive. its Tata motors subsidiary and likely to come up with IPO. which is indicaating they will grow fast. but again work life balance in fast growing companies is always a challenge. which is good for growth. Tata group has three companies once that happens TATA technologies, tata consultancy, tata elxi .
if you want to work in relax env, LTI is not the first choice.
IBM is slow place to grow.

I have offers from mindtree (Software engineer 4LPA, no bond) and HCL (4.25 lpa, Software developer with 1 year bond of 50k). Keeping in mind about the training and growth I am thinking to join mindtree. So, is it a good decision, or i should go with HCL?
yes. I also think so. bond is another factor goes in favor of Mindtree

@@AditiKumari-wt3gl but mindtree has delayed the joining a lot, till now they are saying that onboarding will take minimum of 2 months, and who knows they can even extend that duration.
@@AditiKumari-wt3gl this year the situation has become very different. So think wisely. I kept waiting for mindtree, but after receiving that mail ,I have joined HCL.

@@PoojaBisht-io6ev i joined lti in July 2022 and after training i am on bench .it's been 8 months now I'm still on bench .and most of freshers are getting support role even if you are from cs /IT background
.i also had 2 other offers .i regret joing lti.please rethink before you join LTIMINDTREE.

If you are already doing internship in Mindtree, important is how it is going and if you are able to use opportunity well.

at the risk of being wrong, i would say, Normally bigger companies maintain a healthier work life balance.
however this combination of multiple factors like Project, your manager and deadlines.
this is impossible to predict. but from my understanding of various business models, bigger companies offer you more time .

LTI will have uncertainity for next 1 year. though you as a fresher will not be impacted, but wipro is giving you fullstack training, i would go with that.

the unknown here is, How many people are on the bench in Mindtree and LTI at the moment. .bench of one company might be sufficient to handle merged entities demand.

I don't see any gains for employees in near term . its a decision taken keeping company's benefit in mind. maybe large deals could bring some brand value, and company can claim to be a big house like other top 5.

The immediate challange is not mindtree but external environment. If it is good, mindtree or LTI joining will not be impacted. The merger will not have any impact on joinings .it will be good to have couple of offers.

in the meantime i would suggest please put extra effort as external environment is bit challenging for next 6 months-1 year.

Mindtree is going through a transition. If you trust your skills are good, your knowledge ig good. You can choose any of them. Else i would go for capgemini.
But please do your own research. And never follow anyone's advice.

Work life balance in big companies is project based. So i have little doubt that Big4 are bad in wlb. Projects and wirk nature demands extra effort. It can happen everywhere

@@shayankabasi160 cloud data architect role is very promising. EY has done split recently. There will be growth as each vertical will get focus.
However there is no guarantee of work life balance as data engineering is heavy duty job. all legacy data is moving to cloud and its complex exercise ..

Yes some change has taken place compared to 6 month ago period. But not to the extent you are talking. Please check for correctness
HCL 4.25lpa 1 year bond or capgemini 4 lpa 2 year bond? fresher
i don't have a clear winner here. While i would prefer Capgemini over HCL but 1 year extra bond is bothering me.
Newcomers get impatient these days, so you would find yourself unsatisfied for 2 years. because people your exp, might many jumps ... keeping that in mind, I would consider HCL. but please check my video for freshers, and also HCL.
See, the LTIMindtree entity is now headed by people from Cognizant, soon the entire company will be a mini cognizant basically. People are leaving one company in dozens and joining another company where seniors are going.
very well said. mindtree management comes from Cognizant. And normally when a CEO takes over, he brings his own people from previous company.

@@healyou4243 as a shareholder it should be good in long term. But till the integration is complete, in short run hangover would persist. That's the only concern. Often lot of noise takes place during this phase.
