Awesome video Tom. This Aquarium looks amazing. At 21:55 did you know that the Tide pool outside the aquarium where you’d often see Seals or Sea lions is where Pixar got the idea to make the Marine Life Institute in the 2016 Disney/Pixar Film Finding Dory
Yeah I knew about that, there was plans to redesign the finding Nemo ride at Epcot in to the Marine Institute. Too bad I didn't get to see any Sea Lions on my visit
Wonderful and very educational aquarium! The Seafood Watch Guide is fantastic (or fin-tastic, ;) !) The Ocean's Edge is amazing and I'd want to be the SCUBA diver feeding those fabulous animals. It's lovely getting up close and personal, gently petting the critters in the touch pools, but I'm curious, do we know if the rays are physically harmed by removing their tail/stingers? Thank you, Tom! Please keep filming these great videos for us all!
This was a beautiful aquarium, I had such a great time. I have asked about the tail spine removal before. I was told it doesn't injure them, they frequently lose their barb in the wild. The barbs grow back and have to be removed again. Thank You for your comment, I'm glad you enjoyed my tour
Hey Tom! I just wanted to leave a comment expressing interest about something. I find it very interesting that this is the only known facility to successfully house & care for a Great White Shark. For me, this brings up a lot of questions. What did this place do differently? Why didn’t they survive elsewhere? Did they do something special? Each question that goes through my mind is more complex than the last question. Very interesting. Regarding your channel, I’m making good progress, I’m at the Long Island Aquarium. Currently binging your channel and watching very little else so I’ll be caught up soon and can comment more regularly. Hoping you see this & reply with your thoughts on the Great White Shark, Tom.
The size of the tank the Great White was housed in played a role. Also the fact the aquarium pumps raw sea water into the tanks is something most facilities can't do. It's truly an amazing aquarium, it's definitely one of my favorite aquariums
That would be cool to see, the majority of the time the sharks die. I think since the aquarium pumps raw seawater into the tanks, that might have contributed to the sharks survival
Thank you for taking us along. Beautiful place !!
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed my tour. It's a fantastic aquarium, the otters were one of the highlights
WOW!
That's a perfect way to describe this aquarium

@@TomsRoadTrippin It’s definitely a subject of great interest. Yes for sure, amazing aquarium.
Also an Aquarium I suggest you look into going to is the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport
I'm sure I'll be near that
My son wishes that there is a Great White Shark in Monterey Bay Aquarium... My son named Jun really like Great White Sharks.
