I remember, so many years ago, having downloaded this song off of some file-sharing service. And something about its arrangement resonated so deeply with me, particularly the first minute and a half. It's almost like you're drifting in a comfortable, dreamy void, but being pushed into motion, as if you are being ushered to escape. ...yes, this particular variant of Infinity feels like something you would hear in an escape sequence, but it doesn't feel stressful like most escape sequences are, but rather... encouraging. I have vague memories of writing to this and similar songs. I can't remember the exact context very well anymore because of memory damage (thanks, coma drugs), but I remember this one specifically. Back then I think had that same "this sounds like something you would hear in an escape sequence at the end of a game" interpretation on the arrangement alone. I've heard all the other variations, but this one has always been my favorite. Perhaps someone else who happens upon this variant of Infinity had a similar experience. Then I won't feel like such a weirdo about it.
I watched the anime and listened to the soundtrack for Lost Universe with my BFF nearly 25 years ago. We grew up in the city, then went to a rural college. We'd park out on the empty rural roads after midnight and stargaze to this song. We'd talk about anything and everything, the good and the bad. We felt such a deep connection and unlocked the secrets of life. I've felt the awe of infinity to this song. Today, on my BFF'S birthday, I came looking for this and find that the Red Zone Remix of Infinity moves me ever more as time passes. I'm going to give my BFF a call and tell her how special she is...

I still prefer the original remix from the cd.
