- Selling this one for a friend. He has asked me to hold the Guitar, deal with shipping and handle the transaction, as he believes it is easier to sell in the US.
Here we have an Altman Guitars AD-4, SN 188, with 45 style inlay, old growth Adirondack red spruce top, a very striking and upgraded set of Brazilian rosewood, engraved gold Waverly tuners, Ebony fingerboard with a scale length of 25.34, slotted Ebony bridge with long mammoth ivory saddle, forward shifted and scalloped red spruce X bracing, frets only show a shadow of use, full mid 30s inspired mahogany neck with volute, Brazilian Rosewood Peg head overlay, 1 3/4 nut, 2 9/32 bridge spacing, nitro lacquer finish, and comes housed in a fiberglass Hoffee case.
This instrument is built from About the best materials that money can buy, as is the tradition of Altman. These days, we are hard-pressed to find a set of Brazilian like this. It has a very big sound, And excites easily by the right hand. The treble is very luscious, while the bass is deep, but maintains a nice punch and control. The action is low, and playability good with medium gauge strings; However, there appears to be a slight heel gap at the bottom of the neck heel, thus a reset will need to be performed in the future, if the player desires a lower action. there is some room on the saddle for lowering, but not much.
Asking price is $12,000.

A great sounding and looking guitar.
The final tone at the very end says it all. Whoooom... Finally, a guitar that can handle the complexity of the mids , that we often cancel out in the mixes later, because they're too squirrely. While I remain a Jimmy Fan, because I am a banger, This would be the go-to for sitting down and getting serious and lovely, but enough spririt to jump up later when spirits fly while aurora borealis suddenly reigns down.
Awesome guitar. Great sounding guitar, I think anyone would love to have that one, really sparkly treble. As always great demo.
That is such an awesome sounding guitar! A very full, warm sound!
Thank you sir; the Altman boys are masters of their craft.
wow Shawn that beauty sounds amazing, your sure spoiled getting to play all those wonderful guitars.
great playing pure genius.
Thank you Anthony; yeah, I am pretty spoiled, it almost gives me a toothache when I think about it lol.
I really like ths one...
Brother she is for sale, if you like her really well.
Wow - that has everything but a fireworks show accompanying that guitar. I must say though - I think I prefer your D18. It’s the mahogany that does it for me.
It sure does have it all, but you aren’t the first person I have known who is biased and loves mahogany lol. Been down that road for a long time myself. 😂
It's got it all! Sounds as good as it looks!
I reckon if a man likes total package with bling, he is found it with this one lol.
@@ShawnBrockMusic Herringbone is as much fancy as I want, but that guitar sounds great.
Boy she sounds Mean Shawn. Love the engraved tuners! Lovely Guitar.
I just had a listen and subscribed my friend, excellent stuff you have over there, and I hope these other folks will subscribe to you as well!
@@ShawnBrockMusic thanks Shawn. I do a little bit of everything over here.
Love your videos Shawn! Subbed a little while ago. Can you tell me a little bit about how you have your mics positioned? You get such a great sound!
Man I sure do appreciate it, I just go for trying to make things as natural as possible. Most of the time on guitar, I shoot for an off axis microphone position on each of the two being used. I like having one pointed roughly at the right hand, and the other somewhere around the neck and body joint, and I will go for anywhere from 15°, to 45° on the angle.
@@ShawnBrockMusic Thanks Shawn! I look forward to hearing more of these awesome guitars you get to play.
That one has all the bells whistles and lights. Lol. EE 😁
Man I thought about confiscating one of those flashing yellow lights that you see on a forklift, to put on the case lol. How are you doing over there man?
I’m doing pretty good for an old guy, lol. I don’t know how I got old so quickly.
I posted a video earlier myself. Of course my Epiphone AJ doesn't sound anywhere near level of any guitar you Demo.
