Hi, glad to see you in Yogyakarta 😊😊 its called becak. Nowdays price more expensive than regular transportation like Grab/Gojek. Becaks are still maintained for tourism purposes. Only small groups of locals who still using this vehicle 😊
Thanks for viewing. Yes , I used Grab/Gojek motorcycles in Jakarta and Bandung but prefer the comfort and protection of the Becak., especially now they are motorised.
This is a very interesting video; you have footage before and after. Would like to hear about your impression on Indonesia's development all this time. As an Indonesian, history like this fascinate me. I wasn't even born when you visit for the first time. 🤭 7:35 how is it even possible, did you use app (gojek/grab) or did you haggle?
Thanks for viewing . I make my videos for myself so I can recall people, events, sites and incidents to remind me of my 76 holidays. They are very amateurish and boring compared to others on UA-cam . So I am surprised when people actually make positive comments ( I receive no compensation from UA-cam, so feedback is appreciated. The becak driver at 7:35 was waiting outside the station.
Re Indonesia's development. The people are still wonderful. Food and shopping is still exciting. Things are still inexpensive. Changes I notice are the growth of Grab/gojek and the decline in bus travel. Also train travel is now very quick, efficient and cheap. Fortunately motorised becak still exist. The biggest change is use of mobile phone apps to order and pay and the growth of malls. Also there appears to be less real poverty and many shanty areas no longer exist. Jakarta is now a modern metropolis. Clean spaces have also expanded. Prices to enter Borobudur and Prambanan are expensive compared with other 'wonders' such as Taj Mahal.
welcome to Indonesiaa 🎉🎉😊 what nostalgic moment from 50 years ago to 2024
Thanks for viewing. I would be thrilled if someone recognised themself from 50 years ago.
