Having visited Vientiane in 1973, at the age of 21, I returned in 2024, at the age of 72, noting the changes over 51 yrs later. It would be fantastic if someone recognised themself in the video, from 50 yrs ago.

After visiting Luang Prabang , Laos, I took the new fast train to Vientiane, returning after 50 yrs, in Feb, 2024. In Part 5 , I compare Vientiane of 2024 to Vientiane of 1974.

Unable to visit Luang Prabang , Laos in 1973 , I returned 50 yrs later, in Feb, 2024, to explore this beautiful, ancient capital. My tour included the magnificent Kuangsi waterfall, with the bear sanctuary, the 500 yr old Pak Ou Bat Cave , a trip down the Mekong river and a wander around the popular Luang Prabang night market.

During my 8th visit to Bali, I compare Ubud today to Ubud of 1974 and 2001. My (A$50) tour covers the Monkey Forest, Tagallalang Rice Terraces, D'Tukad Coffee Plantation, Kintamani/Mt Batur, Tampaksiring Sacred Springs and Goa Gajah.

On my 8th trip to Indonesia, I revisited Bali and Surabaya. This video follows my tour around Surabaya, visiting the longest bridge , the oldest mosque and Kampung, in Indonesia, and the monument to Indonesia's heroes.

This video covers a tour of Nusa Penida, which I would not recommend due to the long waiting times, long period in the car, a disgusting 'lunch' and only 3 places visited, during 8 hours on the island. During my 78 overseas trips, it was the worst tour I have experienced. Enjoy the 3 places we visited.
