      Same, but it didn't start as a troll, it started as a "I want to be seen as "equal" " as it was when guys would give particular attention and benefits (like diamonds in minecraft ahah) to girls. Sometimes I'd say "im a robot" or "a chicken" when people asked gender questions (as if it changes anything? dunno)
      As time passed I just found myself liking how people see me as a guy, and I really want online people to see me as He/him or They/them. However I don't think I have dysphoria, or more specifically, I like both being in my current body, but also would like to be seen as a boy (I already bought something similar to a binder to make some tries)

    Is there any feasible way to sound more masculine without deepening? I'm female, but for the sake of singing I want to achieve the light, high-range male voice that people like Brian David Gilbert and Tyler Joseph have. My voice is already reasonably deep, within and often below the ranges of higher male vocalists, but my sound leans more to Rose Marie than anything masculine.

    • @vocabilities
      @vocabilities  4 роки тому +81

      Lisa Z I don’t know Rosie Marie but will take a look! My first thoughts are that what differentiates a male voice from a female one? It’s generally that they are deeper due to size of the instrument (body) and the chasm that resonates the sound. If you want to sound like a man with a higher voice then you will need to develop a more flexible vocal system that will offer you the dynamics to play with! The exercises for resonance do just that!

    My voice sound like Michael Jackson's, in fact I can sing his songs. It doesn't bother me one bit, i'm use to it. When I was growing up, my aunt sometime called the house to speak to my mom. When I answered the phone, my aunt thought I was my big sister. It never bothered me, like I said, I sing, and I can cover Michael Jackson 's music, and Smokey Robinson's music. My high voice makes it easy for me to sing lead on many songs, by The Stylistic, The Delphonics, Blue Magic, The Miracles, The Imperials, Earth, Wind And Fire.

    I really wish I knew these tips earlier. I used to work on a domestic violence hotline (solo worker for an entire US state from 8pm-8am) to earn my way through college. It was because of that job that I learned that when I'm talking to strangers or people I'm not comfortable with, I get nervous and my voice goes much higher than my normal range. How did I learn this? Well, on the phone, somewhere toward the beginning of the call, some callers would [sheepishly] ask if I was a man or a woman (often asked by callers who would prefer to speak to a woman). At the time, I knew I didn't have a beefy, deep voice but I knew I still had a voice that, when relaxed, everyone would consider masculine. So that was a wake up call to me to pay a little more attention to my voice in those situations (since I'd definitely prefer to sound more masculine). But I haven't really tried to address the problem since then [other than relaxing when I'm nervous] so I look forward to watching more of your videos. Thanks, man! First time subscriber.

Most people who called though were not in immediate danger and just wanted to talk about past trauma so they let me call them back if I was busy helping others.

    The low, tapping-like voice that he’s using at the end is called “vocal fry.” It’s okay to use it as a trick to promote lower voice, but it’s actually abusive to your vocal folds if used for an extended period of time. Use it as a means to an end to achieve a more masculine voice, but not indefinitely.
