Wait just a munite? If I'm driving on a run-flat performance tire, (one without a tread-plug), and it goes down, how is this substantially different than when, (a properly specified and installed tread-plug goes down)? [Not including a side-wall blow-out... in either circumstance]. This is why regularly checking lug nuts (140) and displaying (DIC tpms tire pressures) are the most important safety items on any sports car! Lugs, TPMS, oil pressure, and coolent temps!!!!
Rick, as far as "plugging" tires go, Michelin has a guide to repairing a punctured tire. not a plug but a patch. A proper patch following Michelin's procedure will restore the complete speed rating of the tire

I would never plug my corvette tire… if I can afford a corvette (new) and pay for the highest grade gasoline….. I can afford to invest in a new tire!!!!

Hi Rick and Chuck. I test drove a 23 c8 Stingray last weekend. It has already had two owners and now has over 9500 miles. I really went just to sit in one and see how it felt. When I asked the salesman if it had the 7500 mile service and dct filter change, he didn’t really know what I was talking about . I told my wife that is just the perfect reason not to buy another Corvette from anyone but Rick! I will not be buying locally in Texas! I really don’t think there is a dealer anywhere that takes care of its customers like you do! Thanks for the knowledge. Hope to buy from you before too long….

As always I enjoy watching you and Chuck. I feel for the guys that are waiting for their cars as mine was ordered and ready (2024 Z51 3LT fully loaded) in 6 weeks from order to NCM delivery. Walked away from dealers wanting 10K over MSRP or wanting large deposits. Unfortunately you and I weren't able to do business due to timing issues, but maybe in the future. I'm only 72, so i'm sure there will be a few more cars in my future.

appreciate your opinion and no real argument replacing the tire is safer, BUT i have plugged a tire and then took it 175mph on track during a full day or road course racing.
Okay so after the 500 mile break in what about before the 1500 miles,
if I want to do spirited driving are we allowed to launch the car with launch control not on the track?
Also which SD card is best for this canybody have any data?

So if I win, I expect to get a send off pat, even if it is virtual.😂 What would also be great is if Corvette would get you allocations for the Eray so my current status of 1101 could get advanced. I know that is also your wish. Bet it would sure make your life easier. We all just need to continue to hang in there. You don’t need any more pressure. Get your health under control. That has to be your priority. All else will fall in place.💕👍
I've been doing the "flood start" technique for awhile now. It made sense to me since gravity will cause the oil to leave the top of the motor on a car that's stored for 5 to 6 months. I don't want to risk metal to metal contact. I use Mobile 1 oil and filters. Didn't know about the AC Delco check valve. I may switch to AC Delco filters if Mobil,1 filters don't have a check valve. TY
The information that you and Chuck provide is fantastic. I did buy my 2023 C8 locally from a salesman I have worked with for 20 plus years. But I received valuable information from you and Chuck. If my salesman retires you will be next on my list.

The subject about plugging a tire hasn’t mentioned one thing that was done to a tire on my 2022 C8. Besides a plug the tire tech. put a patch on the inside. I have driven over 6,000 miles since then and no problems.

I am curious why Michelin would say it is OK to plug a run flat? I would think they would say no way if there was a liability OR safety issue. Thanks for the update!!

Great vlog! Felt some very particular nostalgia when I saw the black C-3 parked in front of another “Antique,” that B-52D! Have a few flight hours in that airplane and I campaigned a C-3 (an ‘81” in NCCC for a few years. It was great pic for me-work and okay all in one! Thanks Guys!

Rick & Chuck-you mentioned not to plug a tire which I completely agree. Patching a tire seems acceptable to me.
