    2 things. 1, you told us the 2 settings within the first minute -- THANK YOU! I hate watching over half a video and still waiting for getting to the point of what the video is about. 2, you gave us not only the why of which you change those settings, but also the why of which DVR defaults that way. Thanks again!

    • @psy0rz
      @psy0rz 5 років тому +13

      yeah..he changed the settings...changed them back to default..then gave the example of what davinci does by default, and THEN finally changed the setting and showed what it actually does.
      ...and then repeated everything AGAIN.

    Super handy thing to know, especially for people who are trying to fiddle around and see what works. But did you know, that you can save the settings as the default setting for new projects, so you don't need to make the change every time?
    Press "Shift+9" to get to the Settings
    Click on "presets"
    Save your current (optimized) settings as a new preset
    Right-click on the newly created preset and select "Save As User Default Config"
    That's all!
    I personally have set the "Color science" to "DaVinci YRGB Color Managed" as well. But I'm still a beginner with DaVinci Resolve.

What I find frustrating, and you just reminded us of this with your video is that with each new project you have to change the general settings for this or for that. Isn't there a Master General settings page, that controls all of your new projects?? I looked and looked but could not find it. Maybe you can help. Thanks

    Hi Alex, thank you for your insightful video! I have what I hope is a simple problem: When I drop an iPhone 12 Pro video into Davinci Resolve 16, Davinci washes out the clip (desaturates it). Exporting reveals that the clip is actually altered and not just how it looks in Davinci. Any ideas why Davinci is doing this and how I can fix it? Can it be fixed in Project Setting? Thanks so much! Keep up the great content.

    Great videos. Personally I leave S-curve on, because you can do the linear contrast with the shadows and highlights luma rings, so having the contrast slider work the other way makes sense. That way I can choose which I want without needing to change settings, or mix between the two types.

    Great video. I like the idea of working with less hidden signal tweaking. With contrast s-curve deactivated, you loose pivot, so workflows can change. So for example for grading raw (in BMD Color Space / Gamma, no LUT ...) I need a curve instead of pivot ...

    Hi, I have a small doubt, when we make the absolute black point to black, the graph in waveform showing a bit clipped. But the image looks good with great contrast. Will this cause any issues for broadcast? Is it actually a good workflow to even clip or do we need to preserve the entire range in the waveform. As far as i researched i came to know that we need to preserve the entire range without clipping. Any thoughts would be helpful Thank you.

    Enjoyed the video, and the others in the series. I have a question about the workspace. I use DaVinci resolve on both my iMac and my 15" MacBook Pro. But on the MacBook Pro I can not get three sections (eg colour wheels - curves - scopes) to show at the same time. The lower area will only show two panels at the same time. On the iMac (27") I get the three panels/sections as seen in this video.
    Is this an adaptation for the smaller screen used by the MacBook Pro, or is there a way to get all three sections at the same time? I've looked through 'Work Space' options and couldn't find anything. Am I missing something simple that will rectify this?
