    Little tip on the grass at the side of deck to get a nice grass finish get a spade take out a tiny bit of mud from under the grass without damaging the grass then press the grass down to curve over the mud to give it that better look 👍🏻

    Looking good lads. Some on here Brand bragging should watch the Torque test channel and learn a few things. No customer I have ever worked for has ever asked me what brand of tool I use and never had one complaint on my work. Also I wonder how many know Decking Board can come both side grooved and how many engage not having a clue what the client has asked for. I have had loads of jobs where I have advised the correct way to do jobs but they have wanted their own version. Great job guys.

    9:10 Gods watering can 😉🙏🏼
    Spot on about the tools Dave.
    All I have is a Spade,a 5 foot wrecking bar,a decent hand saw ,a £60 Cordless with two batteries,a wheel barrow,a bag of hand tools,chisel’s and 30 years experience in Civil and Military Engineering.
    Yes it takes me longer and yes it takes more effort but the job gets done to a high standard and I never run over my quotes.
    My only concern is my sparse tools array getting robbed by a full kit wanker in poser clobber 😉👍🏼

    I’ve been doing decking for around 12 years now and honestly the biggest tip I can give for smaller sized decks is to pay attention to what direction you put your boards on IE left to right or front to back. Can give you the illusion the deck is bigger than it actually is sometimes.

    Oi Dave I’m not old I use inch when working with wood, I’m not a pro so I find it easier 😂. I don’t have the proper gear nor the Materials but I did have a idea 💡 so during lockdown I reclaimed some decking and the frames, I cleaned them all up and got what tools I had out and made a big decking across the back of my house and closed it all in and it’s been up almost 2 years, i liked the idea 💡 of allenkeys for spacers for the decking boards I used packers that all I could think of at the time but worked. A great insight to build a little decking Dave and Stevie 👍 few things I would change how I done mine to how you done yours defo, for future reference I’ll do it 🤝.

    Do not use 4x4 posts as support just lay the frame on concrete pads as posts will rot
    Plus use a bitumen paint on the frame

  • @simonfootie6255
    @simonfootie6255 Рік тому +2

    You should use full boards and you won't get waste if you use 2.4 m or whatever is closest to the length of the frame
    Plus make sure the boards are layed down wet so you don't need to use spacers as they will shrink
    If you use spacers then the gaps will be too much once they dry out
    Also you have too much spring in your frame you should've used centre supports
