    Gday, I’ve watch all the videos on the indexing drill sharpening jig and have learnt quite a lot from this, I’ve only discovered your channel and I’m liking it a lot, you give a very clear description which I find quite easy to understand, I’m looking forward to watching all your videos and hopefully making a few things along the way, thank you very much mate and cheers from Australia 🇦🇺. Matty.

    Hi Alan i am thinking of making the worden . I see you have a lot of experience with modifying the tool holders . do you think it would be possible to adapt to take R8 collets to sharpen end mills . Regards Mike

      Hi Mike yes you could replace the steel block on the table. With a bigger one to hold a R8 spindle and make it revolve as I did for my ER20 collet seeua-cam.com/video/_9ShMo0erzs/v-deo.html

    I'll stick to hand grinding. Although ive just made a 4th cmc axis using an ER20 collet extension on a 20mm ground shaft (I had to drill through) ebay , er20 20x100mm under a tenner, its a good starting point for this project.

    The 12 locations of the index are not through hole (are they) to the spindle question here (I am just wanting to learn here so I ask questions often please) is why does the spindle lock when you are tightening the screw? We truly are enjoying thee lessons here so we thank you for making them. Yes it does grind well. We like the machine lathe post mount-ability really nice. I will go see Hemingway.

      Hi No the index holes use the counter sink part and the index pin has a point on it to give a positive location.If you tighten the screw too tight it will stop the feed movement. The index pin is made to slide in and out with the feed screw.

    Hi Alan, Great video and a very nice tool. I see you are using the white wheel in the grinder. Have you abandoned the diamond embedded wheel?

    • @enotsengineering
      @enotsengineering  7 років тому +2

      Hi Alan
      No I only use the diamond wheel for carbide tips

      It's wasted to use diamond embedded wheel for all kinds. It's more expensive and the drill not requires very much precision just in particular situations.

    Why not extend the 10 and 12 marks across the circumference of their respective wheels so they can be viewed from there?

    The device is certainly impressive, but it seems to me it's an overkill and could be made simpler.

    i could have sharpened a dozen drills while you were messing around with this over engineered contraption

      ya me too, but not as perfect and you can do milling cutters with this but not by hand
