Wife and I loved both seasons for different reasons and we have high hopes for season 3. Was amazing to get your thoughts on it Cody for what worked and what did not work for you. Cobra Kai is probably the most suprising show i ever watched. I started watching after the season 1 review on this channel. I've never would have seen that one, i would have never even think of watching this show. Karate kid was sommething from my youth and i lost interest in Daniël son and Mr Miyagi and Johnny Lawerence a long time ago. But i started watching and i realy like this show. I realy like the character of Johnny Lawerence and i realy dont care for the Larruso's, especialy Sam. Anyway, i would like to thank Cody Leach for bringing this show to my attention. Its awsome!!!
I hate that every single time Miguel appeared in season 2, he was always depressing and moaning about Sam and always with a sad face and dialogue. I wanna root for him not think he is a crybaby.
I think it’s about even with season 1. And I for one loved every second of that final fight in the school. It was so damn well choreographed and entertaining that I don’t mind how over the top it was.
I want the season 3 finale to have Johnny and Danny to team up and beat the shit out of Kreese, Captain America and Bucky vs Iron Man style. And have Miguel, Sam, and Robby team up to fight Tori and Hawk.

I’ve seen people stabbed in school And there’s literally school shootings. I’m 28 and that last school fight scene is completely believable back in my high school days. Kreese at the end says that Johnny failed his students in their time of need but that literally makes no sense. Johnny an adult can’t go into a public school and he can’t fight children. That whole tension is ridiculous. Still this show is a bop.
Once again I agree with pretty much everything. I also really hope that in season 3 we get the full coming together moment for Danny and Jonny. Cuz they did the will they won't they in the first season as well. And if they don't give it a conclusion in seadon three I worry about that becoming too much of a trend. But i do think the writers are a bit more sophisticated and respectful to their audience that, that probably won't happen.

It was over the top, but i think it needed to be because it was very lighthearted, even made me laugh at some points and i had the feeling that it will simply end with some security guards or even the police arriving. Then suddenly Miguel falling down shocked me because i really didn't expect something really bad happen in this fight. That moment changed the tone in a second and i really liked it. Overall season 2 ramped the 80s action movie vibe up for me, what i really loved but on the other hand the series shouldn't go even more over the top than it did in S2 because it will jump the shark then. Hopefully S3 won't focus on Okinawa but maybe start there for the first 2 episodes. Think the valley quite to important for the plot to stay away from there for too long. Also hoping that S3 will continue to tell the story with many greyscales instead of installing more strict good vs evil storyarcs. Kreese is enough antagonist, we don't need more characters like him.

As for season 3 , it would be awesome if somehow theres a team up between Daniel and Johnny vs Kreese and maybe we get Terry Silver or Mike Barmes in there too or somehow have that lead up into season 4 if Netflix is smart and renews it!!!
Daniel should have taught his students how to know when to stop fighting. That lesson would have saved Miguel. I hear Chozen and Kumiko will be coming back and We know Ali will be coming back. I do think the reason why Moon describes to leave Hawk for a girl is because she doesn't want to be in a relationship with a person that is into violence that is why she des idea to be in a lesbian relationship.
Season 2 was a bit too much into the teen drama, as you mentioned, and I have to agree that the conclusion was so overdone that it took me right out of the genuine feel of the story, and made me immediately think about the producers and their desire to go big to somehow top the conclusion of Season 1. There was no need. "Randy" is not making the rules here, where "the body count is always bigger." What made this show succeed was how grounded it felt. They need to be careful to keep it that way.

I think the teachers there is Freddy Kruger, Jason Voorhees, Norman Bates, Michael Myers, Ash Williams, Leatherface, Charles Lee Ray, Pinhead, and the rest are the teachers from The Faculty, so they heard that threat on the PA, and just felt like kids are growing up so fast today. 😉😂🤣 Just kidding, but seriously, yeah, this is a good series, and glad more people are able to see it.
I feel conflicted on the final battle. On one had that thing was entertaining as hell to watch, I loved almost every second of it. I didn't like that Robby attacked Miguel afterward, I feel like if they wanted to have Miguel get hurt then Robby could still do what he did with a broken arm, and what happened there was totally out of left field, Robby has shown no tendencies to do something like that, he is not afraid to get violent in defense, but if Miguel backed of Robby would have too, or at least that was the way his character seemed. On the other had the entire sequence makes no sense plot-wise. We see like one officer who everyone just listens to as he violently pulls them apart, either they would get off when the cop said or the would attack the cop, also there WAS ONE TEACHER WHO INTERVENED, but he got an elbow to the face as I recall. The fight is way to big, it is like 20-40 kids doing karate in the high school, and sometimes the non-dojo attendees seem to be part of the fight, and others they are just spectators. The whole fight just makes no sense, like why wasn't the school in lockdown, and the teachers converging on the girl who just broke into the loudspeaker room, assaulted the speaker, and issued a violent threat. But the sequence is still awesome.
All of these criticisms are fair, but it’s for those over-the-top reasons I loved this season. I think Okinawa will fit in as Daniel struggles with his karate and, besides Julie Pierce, Chozen is the only other currently known student of Miyagi Do Karate, taught by Sato, who learned from Miyagi’s father. I think it will teach Daniel to learn and accept that all forms of karate can be used in the wrong way and hopefully soften his stance on how the brand of Cobra Kai being the problem and not the teacher. He seems so focused on the name and not giving Johnny a chance because of it. Chozen could open his eyes to the fact that Miyagi’s form can be twisted, too.
There's lot rumours who Terry Silvas son/daughter could be, Chozen from KK2 confirmed, I reckon Daniel & Johnny will join forces merge there martial arts teaching to take on Kreeses dojo in another tournament.

Season one is superior. I still enjoyed the second one. I now want to see Terry Silver and Mike Barnes return! Terry Silver is the main reason that I now have gone back to Karate Kid Part III and re-evaluated the movie. I still think it’s seriously flawed and not a good movie but I now enjoy the movie for what it is. Though it is ridiculous that this millionaire spent so much of his time and energy torturing a kid 😂 A return of Elizabeth Shue would be interesting of course. I think this show has one more season left before they run out of ideas. If they drag it on beyond that I think it will suffer.

Hawk losing to Dimitri and Dimitri becoming a bad-ass way too easily really brought this season down for me. Ultimately, I have to say I still loved it, but those were big problems for me. Tory and Aisha were both sort of underutilized too--Tory never even spoke a word to Johnny, you'd think they'd have some sort of relationship with one another, but you never got to really see what his thoughts on her were or vice-versa.

I like this show very much. I don't like Dimitri though. He is annoying character. He is such a coward. I want to like him but I just do not like his character development. The thing I do not like the most though is how much of this show goes against what Mr M stood for when he taught Daniel Karate. He never taught it to create a rivalry pr settle that. He taught it to teach discipline, control, respect, self defense, and life lessons. He never taught it Star Wars. Mr M hates fighting and I think he would be angry with Daniel and want to talk to him about how to settle the rivalry.
Big positive: This season was very action pack. Big negative: The ending was very depressing.
