Cedar Point: Planet Coaster Re-Creation

- Here's is a overview of the entire park I've been working on it for about a year now and the progress so far. I have allot of little details in many different areas to still complete. I have used MANY different creations from the steam workshop( I am not taking credit for allot of the buildings by any means). I've expanded the map to its limit and had to building diagonally I ultimately had to compromise Camp snoopy in the rear of the park to fit other important areas. The video is my very poor attempt at capturing what I have so far. Please don't mind the lagginess and moments near the end where it freezes up. However I hope you enjoy my work to this point.(I do NOT own any of the music you may hear within this video)
Cedar Point is my home park. I've been there more times than I can count... and let me just say, this recreation is as spot on as you can get in video game. Even the buildings were very very close to the actual buildings. Very solid build, even if it had some flaws. 9/10

This is unbelievable. Ive been to Cedar Point over 50 times in my 40 years. Ever since Planet Coaster came out, I've been waiting for someone to painstakingly recreate CP... And here it is. I hope Cedar Fair sees this and recognizes the amount of skill and dedication that went into this. I'm awestruck by this.

absolutely insane. I never comment but I had to find you and tell you that this is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. My dad's an older guy and found this through PointBuzz, and I kid you not it's all he's talk about for the past week. Our whole family loves Cedar Point and this has my dad absolutely stoked for the upcoming season. We watched a video together and got to see places we have so many memories. My jaw dropped when I saw the restaurants in frontier town! Big props to everyone who worked on this amazing project. This is incredible, i'm at a loss for words. In the words of my dad "That man deserves damn medal!"

Fantastic recreation! You have really pushed the limits of this game and have found the perfect balance of compromise vs. recreation! Hope you put this up for download. Really wish the game would give a new environment to create in -- at least a blank canvas so you don't see these silly backgrounds in every park. How nice would this look with just lake as far as you could see in the background. Hope you release this on the workshop. BRAVO!

You could switch the background to grassland, that would minimize the cliffs at the edges.

@@Themeparkmisfits You can change the background at the menu if you open the park as a new scenario I think. You might have to manually smooth the land at the edges though. If switching from one of the maps with high cliffs at the edges to grassland, it leaves behind part of the cliffs.
As a local who has went to cedar point 30+ times last season, I can say this is the best recreation I’ve ever seen.

You nailed pretty much every detail of the park as I remember it when I went a couple years ago. Provided you even laid out the park on a peninsula as it is in Sandusky, you hit everything pretty head on. I WILL say that the ride stats on a lot of them seem pretty off. So it's not exactly pragmatic, but it is Planet Coaster we're talking about so there's GOING to be some variances. BUT I will also say if you were to actually OPEN this park in game, it might crash your graphics card lol.
It was fun just to take a trip down memory lane. Well done!
To follow up on this, I opened the park on my computer and it didn't really crash my computer. Just made it really laggy. Oh and within 5 minutes, employees were quitting. So there's that lol. It'd take some tweaking to make it a functional park in-game.
Really great recration! The builings look spot on, but the coasters just look a bit off, like they look to big and stretched out, but other than that, this is spot on! Love the Millie recreation.

You have built upon a version of Cedar Point I had uploaded over a year ago. I removed it in hopes others would build their own. I see a lot of MY work in your Cedar Point and I should get some credit for it. But I can't be mad because there is work in this Cedar Point from many in the Planet Coaster community. I am happy to see such an accurate Cedar Point for all to play in and enjoy. I approve of it. My only gripe is the change to the "Gemini" yes its a wood coaster with metal track but it just looks odd built as an RMC! Anyway...good job Dan on improving CP. - I sent ya a friend request on Steam.

@@Themeparkmisfits thank you for the comment. I try to make them as accurate as I can or what would be the point. I am working on my own park lately. I stepped away from my Cedar Point recreations for a short time until I see what all is new for the park this summer. Plus I need to get a few more detailed pictures of the park before I tackle anymore of it.
Your park has to be one of the best laid out parks i've seen crammed into the land space and still keeping its realism. I do have some building such as the midway game buildings complete. but that's about it. My Recreations are split into two parks. Is your recreation available to download on steam?

I think I downloaded your park in STEAM. I saw it once, but just because of all the rides, it takes SOOO long to load. It is amazing though.

Is this another Cedar Point recreation? There is a recent one on the workshop that is a complete park but I think this one is different. How did you get the whole park to fit front to back? Is it the way or angle that it's positioned on the map? How did you make the Funway Station for the CP&LE RR? You can only have straight track stations, but the Funway station has a curved platform and curved shelter. I was at Cedar Point once in 1995, when the Pirate Ride dark ride was running and pre-Mantis, Millennial Force and all that. Disaster Transport is now gone as well. My hometown park is Dorney Park, which Cedar Fair bought in 1992.

So I opted to build a fan rumored family inverted coaster on that side of the building. Because 1. The game barley has any kiddie rides for me to build that peanuts area and 2. I think it would be a real great addition. So that's my own adaptation there.

I'm still working on buttoning up several ideas around the park. I cant put an exact time on how soon but trust me I'm doing what I can to have it completed asap. I want to post another video of the final project as I eventually do upload to the steam workshop.

O and this is amazing
Since the game dosent offer many kiddie rides for that area of peanut land. I opted to build a rumored family inverted coaster themed to the red baron.
