Love my EOTech EXPS, definitely my favorite holo i have or used!
I see you Karl lol
EoTech is my favorite optic and I was disappointed that you guys aren’t doing shake awake.
Shake awake is good for most red dots such as holosun and or aimpoint that the battery life is outstanding. As much as we love our eotechs , the battery life isn’t something to write home about . Meaning if they added a shake to wake , those who use this optic for their truck gun and such will cause the optic to be always on and eventually die when it’s time to use it . Same for the military. They turn it on when it’s time to use their weapons . Or at least for a couple of hours . Having a shake to wake will kill the battery life dramatically.
@@Trashcankicker.This is old but no it wouldn't. In most cases it would actually save more battery life. Regardless this whole point is moot considering there is an easy fix for what you just said. You realize all eotech has to do is make shake awake that is able to be turned off/on (which most companies that do shake awake DO THIS). In other words, adding shake awake is a relatively inexpensive feature that adds no point of failure when it can be toggled. Eotech just refuses to innovate.
I have a holosun 512C on my 300 blk bedside gun only because of the shake awake feature. EOTECH would take it's place if that feature was added. Listen to your consumers!
yea it only takes 1 sec to push the button, but Eotechs are made with combat in mind so there is no shake awake i guess.
1 second could be the difference between life and death.
Not a fan of shake to wake myself, often times it just drains the battery or batteries even faster as the optic is inadvertently activated more frequently.
Besides with the eotech, they have a 4 and an 8 hour patrol period of activation. That’s pretty good for most applications. There is no “shake” or movement needed. It’s simply on already.
Shake awake by NO means takes the place of years of battle testing.
I love my Eotech Exps3-0!
Come on EOTECH its 2021, we need a motion auto-on & no motion auto-off feature
its a feature some people don't want. I think, being that a big part of their sales is mil/le, they won't ever add that functionality. if your rifle is sitting in a vehicle all day while you patrol (le) or you're on route to an objective knowing you aren't getting into contact on the way (helo insertion) this would simply kill battery. I'm personally glad they don't have a motion activation; wouldnt have bought one if they did. I train defense wise and make sure I incorporate turning it on into my reps: rack the rifle (if at home with empty chamber. I gotta lot of "gun dumb" people running around; a little extra ND safety if someone's touching shit they shouldn't be), kick on my eotech, adjust brightness down slightly... if there's time. a single click on the up button you get 8 hours down you get 4. so once its on youre golden and if your expecting contact it should be on anyway.
@@XStealthXXCharmX just deactivate that feature then... make it optional, if you want constant on or auto-on/ auto-off
@@IYKYK97 I'm not saying an option would be bad, just that I doubt it'll happen given their main clientele. maybe I'm ignorant because I don't like the feature but is there an opyic out there with a "shake to wake" system that can be disabled?
@@XStealthXXCharmX yep, most of all the holosun optics you can turn it off... currently I'm testing out this company call Northtac they make a red dot called the Ronin P11 which has an auto-on w/ adjustable auto-off time and if i wanna disable it, i can just turn it off and run it on "constant-on", check out 704Tactical's review of it
SoloPAC how are you liking the ronin p11?
We used these in the US Border Patrol and were amazing. Im now retired and got the EXPS3 ,.... soo sweet. The best
Contacted customer support to request service of an EOTECH holographic sight which became too dim to be useful. Was told company doesn't service these anymore, send it in and get a 50% discount on a new one... The whole idea of buying a high-quality optic piece is for it to serve for years to come. Nowhere on the product does it say "will become useless in about 5 years". From what I was told companies like Trijicon and Vortex handled these kind of situations much better by actually caring about their customer. I don't need a new sight, just help me fix the old one - is that so much to ask? Highly disappointed in the company that I always admired so much. Will probably sell my other EOTECHs before they "expire" too.
It is ridiculous that they refuse to service the older sights. Particularly the models that are still in production (552,512)! They post on their website, "All EOTECH Product is designed to give many years of trouble-free performance and reliability." They have proven themselves to be dishonest (lawsuit) and unhelpful.
I had an older model of eotech . Never had an issue with it . I recently bought a new one for my next build .
❤
00:47 It's Former Action Guy SGM Karl Erickson! Actual Badass, folks.
everybody wants to use an Eotech.
Sold take my money!!!!!
Shake awake could add a potential failure point to the optic. That being it works well, until it doesn't/fails. You could honestly just push the up button for 8 hours on before bed.] and it will be on. Problem solved.
Agreed, tons of folks here must physically live in the 'hood' if they are that worried someone is in their hallway when they go to grab the rifle? Chances are they already got the carving knife in ya before you wake up? So sick of the holo-sons of Eotech anarchy whining about the shake n bake!
i wish the hologram was as clear as you show it in this video. mine looks nothing like that
It is when you focus on the target or when you magnify it. I've had 3 eotechs and all were clear
I purchased a brand new 512 a65 5/21 inspection sticker on it and it had a spec of dirt right smack dab sealed inside the glass never seen that before on a “high Quality optic” better qc better battery life n ill buy again
I have owned 3 and all of then had dust and left over glue on the inside of the glass. Terrible QC
Dear eotech... Please add a shake awake function!
What model are they using as a demonstration in this video?

@@imivanm Thanks. Looks good, but a bit pricey.
top
just purchased my first eotech i hope its worth the 615$
you get what you pay for, i love mine it was well worth the price
It is. let the poor haters hate.
We need them not to grow " spider webs" on glass
its like advertisment in cyberpunk :))
Not sure about advantage but I know it doesn’t have a good battery life compared to aim point
I love Eotechs but that’s the main reason i own Trijicon and Aimpoint over Eotech.
"-only in america"
Still no shake awake and memory on settings I mean seriously yall need to get with the shit and your new pistol rds is another let down to the competitors
1.12 accidentally shoot 😂
Hey, noob. look at the left hand on the charging handle.
Immediate actions
If they could extend that battery life they'd be onto something .. That battery life is just horrible. Holosun has long battery life and solar technology. COPY THEM on power source/battery life and I will buy your products. The only advantage EOTech has is night vision compatibility but I don't own any night vision so Holosun is the superior product for me.
Holosun is a red dot made in China. Eotech makes holographic weapon sights in America. And, you’re attempting to compare two totally different technologies. There are several advantages of Eotech’s built-for-combat sight... you should learn more about the differences between red dots and holographic weapon sights before sharing such an ill-informed opinion.
@@candi323t I do understand the difference between a red dot and holographic sight. The point I was making is that the battery life on an EOTech is far less than a Holosun. The second point is that YES I do understand a holographic sight projects the reticle through mirrors/and black magic thus allowing for a supposedly clearer reticle image than a red dot. I personally have astigmatism so I only use the DOT feature on my red dots. Holosun red dots and other companies also have come a long way and are proving to be just a rugged as EOTECH. So given the longer battery life, ruggedness, lower price, and field of view - Holosun is good for me. I do not own any night vision so that factor for EOTech is irrelevant for me.
@@Baroque-Handel It's a red dot parallax really doesn't matter. The problem is L3 is focused on their night vision systems, but now EOTECH is separated from L3 and they are kind of ignoring a very huge market they could tap into.
