So cool to Learn about machines like this, and how useful they can be to accomplish set goals. The wealth of knowledge on Jason’s channel is equivalent to every old timer I have ever met, rolled into one.
Had experience with these type of mills in the power industry, but they were much larger. Biggest problem with them as we found out was keeping the trunnion oil clean and jacking ports clear. But throughput and efficiency are great. Nice addition to your mine.
Will you be running or from your mine through one? I’d love to see a longer form video of this working compared to the jaw crusher->hammer mill-> shaker table that you normally use
Your awesome Jason. I would love to work with that all day long, I love working with water and dirt lol 😆😆. Just I'm a disabled coal miner now. So I'm kinda worthless and take to many breaks. No one will hire me now with permanent impairment on my nerves.😢😢
Something to look into. Gyro-scope. A spinning object will want to orientate the axis of the spin North and South. The bearings will last longer if the axis of the spin is oriented North and South because it will minimize side thrust. And I’ll bet a bigger fly wheel, with a larger diameter and weight, would save some energy also.
@@Kargoneth It refers to matching the rotational axis of the ball mill to the rotational axis of the earth. It's not a big difference, but stormrunner0029 might be on to something in terms of reducing the wear on the bearings. Separately, I agree totally that a bigger flywheel could be helpful.
Wish I had a good excuse to buy a number of your products..... Shaker table is by far my favorite...... if I ever find me the right placer spot, I could see me coughing up the dough to have one of those around.....
@1:58 It takes more than a hand full of balls to discharge 50 to 60 mesh minus out of half inch feed stock. Legend has it that Jason has the hardest, biggest balls, and the largest, most reliable slurry discharges in the west.
Hi Jason..what do you think about designing a "rock chipper" .. attached to a adjustable bucket elevator to bring a consistent feed to a rock crusher..just an idea for you.. maybe some day I will be able to afford to buy one from you..lol...ps..stay safe mining this year!
0:14 Pun intended but it REALLY takes some balls to manufacture this stuff!! .. Jason is basically making this stuff, on Spec. The hopes he's going to sell them!! .. I'm just ballparking here but there has to be at LEAST $25,000 in just raw material in this ball mill (and that's conservative pricing, not counting the motor, and gears etc) )
I found a pile of balls like that in a wooded area when I was a kid. There were some tumbled down buildings, rotten timbers and the like. Off to one corner were the balls, all jumbled. Nobody knew what they were for, not even the 'old timers' recalled a mill of any kind.
Hammer mill output depends on the size of the screen used. The material will remain in a hammer mill until it is fine enough to pass through the screen.
It needs a crusher, before the any type of mill, but the ball mill is a different type of hammer mill then those you typically see in the old mining towns but serves the same purpose to get fine mesh rock dust to run thru a shaker table. The finer the mesh it is crushed the more likely you are to get all the gold out of the rock. It comes with a price though you have to determine if its worth it to crush it finer because it takes longer to process the ore to get the finer mesh.
We fished some iron balls out a old one, up at Bare Mountain Basin back in the 80’s, I stuck it in my front pocket of my pants and hiking down it wore through my pants and fell out on to my toe lol 😝
Hello teacher, good time, don't be tired, I follow your programs from Iran, please guide me how can I translate your videos into Farsi so that I can understand better, I am talking to you with Google Translate program, is there a way to watch your videos? I would like to see through WhatsApp or special Telegram to learn about how to make a cartoon and see how to extract gold from rocks and soil. Please guide me. Thank you for your kindness.
I know content may be more difficult to come by in winter/early spring. But I don't do 2-3 minute videos. The more of them I see from a channel, the less I pay attention to that channel. Society has enough issues with non existent attention span, and these short videos don't help that....
@carlwest859 fair enough. I suppose if I had 10, 3 minute videos available that all were on a similar topic and conveying relevant information, I might do that too. But that wouldn't alleviate the other issue I have with them. the creator gets the same number of views and ad revenue, for a tenth (or less) of the work involved in a full length video, hence why many are gravitating towards that style. But yes, to each their own and what they prefer. I just simply don't prefer that style of information sharing or operating method.
@iebuilt8241 sooooo why not do like he does in EVERY other video (full length format) and use the equipment in a demonstration ? Had you noticed that every video he fully explains and advertises his crusher, hammer mill and shaker table ? And I refuse to accept that the money aspect of short form videos somehow makes the degenerate effects on society in general, a positive thing 🤷♂️
@@John-ir2zf Appreciate your reply. Over the decades I've worked, designed, fabricated various items for profit or research and development. Now I'll be anxiously waiting for your video promoting proper content and production to educate me. Take care.
I’m a diesel mechanic, my wife would like to buy one to wash my work clothes in.
😄😆😅😂🤣
Amen to that!! I'll take one also just for that reason!!
Lol....lol....loi.....😅
I think you're onto something! It might get concrete out of clothes too!
Clever! 👍👍
Love to see it in use!

I sure don’t miss working on them ball mills!!!
Ours would handle 1300 tons an hour!!!
We had two and one was always on!
Ungodly noisy!!!
The end of the video has a fresh-faced, smooth-cheeked Jason. It's like a window into the past! ha ha ha
Thanks Jason for sharing this awesome machine with us six stars brother

Still need jaw crusher to make the 1/2 to 2 inch feed.
I always wondered what those "spikes" on the outside of ball mills were for, bolts for internal parts makes a lot of sense.....
Jason saying balls over and over is treasure 😂
he looks like he's about to crack up the entire time

I wish I had a legit reason to need equipment like this. Looks like a good mill!
Are we going to see you use the ball mill on your gold mine ore? It would be cool to see how it integrates with the turn key system.
I'm gonna start a drinking game. Every time you say BALL MILL!

Side thrust? North south? Does not make sense.
Maybe Jason could put one on a big lazy Susan and test the theory.

A video of one of these mills being used to process 10-15 tons as an example would be interesting.

Might want to go back there with a good metal detector, probably find some interesting goodies buried and forgotten
It looks like the discharge end is not concentric with the rest of the device. Does it wobble on purpose?
Just needs a pumpbox and a couple of cyclones then u can up the througput or feed size
All your equipment could make a nice little profit. How you gonna move it all up here to Nevada?
I would like a video on how these machines are made
Whoa... how long ago was this shot?😮😊
I am wondering if you are interested in renewing the extended warranty for your ball mill.
No safety guards?
What size material usually comes off the hammer mill? Is it bigger or finer than the ball mill?
Hammer mill output depends on the size of the screen used.
The material will remain in a hammer mill until it is fine enough to pass through the screen.
so is this for an end stage after running through a crusher and hammer mill?

Balls, Balls, Bigger Balls (and bearings) :)
looks pricey? what's the ballpark cost for these monsters?
Damn! Just judging by the color, I assumed those were old, rusty, historical pieces. Well done Sir!
How loud is that?
Greetings from the BIG SKY.
You mentioned you were working on something like this before. Now we gotta see you process your ore through one of these!
This video was not for me, and I enjoyed it anyway. Hope the right person sees it and becomes a customer.

kicking that ass mate
Big machines.
I want one of those!
Very nice now how much
Lookin like Parker Schnabel at the end of the video.
For us less knowledgeable, what does it do?
Turns big rocks into smaller rocks
Turns rocks into dust.
fine incoming from Osha having that machine wired to an open panel.🤣
LOL. Not even trying to pretend it isn't temporary!
Nice builds
ill be honest if i could afford one id turn it into a concrete kiln. good stuff 👍
Who is this young boy? I was expecting to see Jason!!!
lets get an operational vid
Need ball mill
Don't play the 'take a drink every time he says ball', you'll be on the floor before this video finishes :)
Hokey thenkyo 🥀🥀🥀
Jason talking a lot of balls 😂
Hope the hatch don't come open because then they will be all over the place and everyone will be tripping balls .
Wouldn't your hammer mill be a whole lot faster, smaller and cheaper? Seems like this is old tech....
nice!
By over exciting the motor you can actually make some money.
whoa!!!

does the ball mill have a lot of balls. 🤣.
Please stand clear of the drum while in operation ☠
Don't trip walking by that sucker.
🎉
Gods that must be deafening.
Are there spikes on the outside to make it extra dangerous lol jk
👍
Balls...
