@@ryanbaker5296Unclear if he was ever given the title officially, (likely not) but he was trained in that type of combat and for simplicity sake and streamline sake, having a samurai and shinobi is a good option. These games were never 100% historically accurate anyway.

That's a myth, the only historical evidence is a paragraph from a paper, nobody knows what he did or the rest of his story, but ofc western media glazing on it like its a big thing

If that is supposed to be Yasuke then I’m confused. I thought the point of AC was to play as faceless people who didn’t leave a mark on history yet changed the world in significant ways. I thought it was supposed to show us the people history forgot.

I just think it's kind of silly that they pick the ONE brother to exist in ancient Japan as the MC of this game. Especially since, to my knowledge, all previous AC MCs were completely fictional. I don't think a single one was based on a historical person. But in this one instance they do make the MC a historical person. If I was a cynical man I'd say they did that just so they can justify it when they get called out...
U have a local and a outsider as 2 main characters. Very standard setup for any story.

@@IanJenn356094 He was the first foreign Samurai in Japanese history which is incredible because Korea and China are right there. He was clearly notable to be able to get the attention of Oda Nobunaga. If he was a one dimensional person he wouldn't even be worth recording.

I would say that this game is really going to be fun with a real life story within this series. As it’s rare for Ubisoft to let us play a real life figure in their games. So I hope it does well for this new era of gaming.

If this game was released between Black Flag and Syndicate then yeah I’d probably be buying it. I haven’t been a fan of the assassins creed series since they went open world. Origins was alright but I was not a fan of Odyssey. I might get a month of Ubisoft+ just to try out the game without actually having to buy it but I can’t say I’m all that excited for it. I feel like every Ubisoft open world game is essentially the same.
Really wished there was I tie in with the ghost of Tsushima lol would be amazing it’s probably different time periods but maybe a reference

I'm a long-time fan of Assassin's Creed, but I'm not super hyped or regular hyped. In fact, I got very low expectations, almost reaching a level of being slightly disappointed. Regardless, I'm gonna buy it just to see what it's all about before I watch a review. GREAT reaction as always, love your videos.
yasuke was the first black man in japan but I believe he was only a retainer and not a full samurai. So they are taking liberties with that but he did know how to fight

Well, I love the anime, however I think Ubisoft coming up with adding Yasuke as one of the main characters, they are making it quite obvious as to why this was truly created. I'm not saying Yasuke wasn't real but even the creators of this game admitted that there isn't much history about him which makes it all the more easier. I say let's see how well this does, so long as they don't blame people for not buying it if it doesn't make profit.
Still think a story about the greatest Shinobi 🥷 of all time Hattori Hanzo would have been the best choice narratively for an Assassin’s Creed game based in Fedual Japan. Imo 🤔💯

As a black guy, I'm not feeling it cause Asians deserve their proper representation. Yes he's based on a real character but I think giving him his own DLC or having him as a powerful side character would've been a better option.
Here's the thing this might be good if not for the climate it will be released in and then the bigger elephant in the room -- it's made by Ubisoft and when that is bigger then the other issue then it's prolly doomed. This has to come out after the Star Wars game that is incoming soon and IF that is a disaster then this will get hit even harder in terms of failure cause Ubisoft cannot get out of there own way and just make GOOD games anymore.

After using non-real historical figures in their games for main characters I gotta admit that ubisoft was kinda clever to use a real one even so if it is one very minor one that is remembered mostly because of the color of his skin....

Yasuke ws an actual historical figure. All we know is that he was an actual slave who landed in feudal Japan and became a Samurai. Most of his story is an absolute mystery. To adapt it to the Assassin's Creed franchise is badass.
