I'd love to see more of how you mount it. Like play the footage then show the mounting to get that footage. I never know how to mount it to get the best shots.
Been saying this since the first 360 X. Best cycling camera hands down. You never have to worry about camera angles & have infinite editing possibilities later. I can just focus on my ride. I sold my gopros & never looked back. 🚴🏼♂️ 👍🏼

If you're using a traditional handlebar, use the stem cap mount with a telescopic selfie stick. Collapse (retract) the stick when you wanna shoot stuff forwards, and extend it when you wanna shoot yourself.

For the Garmin overlays with Insta360, is that with a special bike computer? Or with your Garmin watch? Do you have to use special Garmin devices on the bike? Like Garmin pedals or other sensors in addition to Garmin bike computer or Garmin watch? I often rent a bike when I travel at places and those rental bikes would not have any Garmin pedals and the likes. I guess I could add a Garmin bike computer or use a Garmin Watch. I noticed on your video you have RPM statistics for example also, so was wondering how you do that. Do you have a comparison on what data overlays Garmin could add versus a Apple Watch? I am mostly using Apple watch for walking, but guess it would also work for cycling... yet, if there was some advantage of using a Garmin bike computer (without dependencies of Garmin pedals and the likes) I might try that also. Anyways, thanks in advance for any advice.

Lately, I've started using Insta360 cameras on my rides around town with my dog.🚴🐕I managed to mount Insta360 Extended edition selfie stick (300 cm) with the Insta360 X4 over the front wheel of the bicycle using the quick release system. So, I can stop riding the bicycle anywhere, put it on the stand, and continue filming my dog without pausing. Also, I placed the second Insta360 Ace Pro camera on the bicycle seat tube to film what is happening behind me. With this, I covered the area that cannot be recorded by the front camera because of me, because I interfere in the shot. In this way, I can cover literally everything that happens around me while riding a bike, and thus watch all the runs of my dog around me, this way I get great shots suitable for slowing down. I am really excited about both insta360 cameras!
Is there any type of cloud storage like GoPro offers? Those 8k vids have got to be some BIG files. I'm assuming an external HD is a must for storing footage. What's your system for that?
I process the footage to 2d footage while the files are still on the camera, save the 2d files to my portable hard drive, then delete the original 3d 8k files.
Thanks for the review. Honestly I'm not impressed by the image quality. I know it's of course better than the previous versions, but I'm watching this on a ultrawide 4k monitor and the image is not very sharp. Frankly it looks a bit grainy or blurry, especially from the race track.
My image quality was horrible as well on my 38 inch 4k. Then I realized my UA-cam auto sized the resolution. Then I manual set my UA-cam resolution to 4K. 😳 NICE!

Which one? The blue and pink arms one? Thats my skinsuit... maybe will sell it in the future, but not many people buy things like this, and the MOQ is pretty high.
@@ChinaCycling yes I am referring to the blue and pink one. it's true that not everyone likes them but they are increasingly widespread in street circuit and fixed gear races. I hope to be able to purchase it as soon as possible and launch a new trend in Italy!
The image quality is more than lacking still. It's definitely a lot better than before but during faster speeds meaning lots of change in pixels per frame it gets incredibly mushy and soft. The bitrate is as always the bottle neck. Even though it was nearly doubled, the increase in resolution probably eats that extra bandwidth up very quickly. Also very disappointing that they still didn't increase the sensor size. Low light ability is lacking. It's an ok update but it's far from great. I'm guessing the upcoming gopro max might potentially do some of these things better, at least it would be laughable if it didn't having been in the works for 5 years at that point.
The X3 will be great value now, shame I bought mine a while ago! Agreed that with the X3, the 5.7K 'resolution' is not that great after you have framed the shots! But the image stabilization is out of this world.

Its just USB-C for charging, I didnt try it, but 90% sure its no problem to do while recording... you'll just have to make sure the charge cable doesnt creep into the shot.

I had a section showing low light. Basically they recommend you drop down to 5.7k for low light (the device itself prompts you) where it will do pixel sub-sampling for a cleaner image. Didnt make the cut, because this video was already too long and it felt too nerdy. Go check out Potato Jet's video.
@@ChinaCycling I talk about low light not sunset or in shade sample. How about foggy day or after sunset record? Can i ride trail at night with this, or it's gonna be blurry mess? Sorry but all you show just to good of conditions for action camera footage. Its dont show how it gonna work in not so grate scenario.
Yup... as I say in the video, you usually crop into about 140-170 degree FoV, so about 40% of that, which means around 4k...even if you do a 90degree FoV, thats 2k which is the same resolution as everyone's phone screen.
Great video! I'm using the Insta360 and I'm happy with that but I'm having issues big time regarding sync of GPS data, is not synced properly, it's delayed 🫤
Make sure you connect the camera to your phone some time before the ride. When the camera connects to the phone, it syncs the time and date. (Obviously make sure your phone is also getting the correct time and date from your wifi / cellular network etc.)
Guys, I cant sync stats from my Garmin watch to X4 at all (its says No data or something). How come it works for you? Ive asked insta360 support and they said Garmin stats are not available on X4 yet.

I edit everything in premiere. Not a crazy grade though. Just add a bit of vignette and tweak the colours a tiny bit.

Hard to compare. The GoPro is more "what you see is what you get" the insta360 has more possibilities, but requires more effort.

I mean, its still a $500 360 camera, not a $5000 RED... everything is relevant. But, I think it can go toe to toe with regular action camera footage?
Its a bit blurry yeah not as good as a 3+ year old gopro. Which makes sense, its capturing probably 6x the area of a normal camera.

It doesn't have it's own GPS data, but you can pair it with the Insta360 GPS Remote which does. Dont think either have the "find my" feature.
