  • Old Montreal, or Vieux-Montréal in French, is a historic neighborhood with lots of old charm and character. Some of the buildings in the area dates back to the 17th century. When visiting around Christmas and New Years the streets are decorated with lights and the old port, Vieux-Port de Montréal, offers iceskating. That is if you don’t opt for a tour of the huge Ferris wheel, La Grande Roue de Montréal. The building with the dome that can be seen from all over old town holds the Bonsecours Market, Marché Bonsecours, with lots of small boutiques, restaurants as well as events and exhibitions. Place Jacques-Cartier is a square in the middle of old town and during our visit people strolled around the stalls and listened to music from the small stage. A few blocks away is one of the main attractions in Vieux-Montréal, the Notre-Dame Basilica. During our visit in the evening there where projections on house walls from events in Montreals history.

This is a very charming city and easy to get to, I hope I can return to visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!
