Great stuff. Your vids are a great reference. I'm in the process of convincing my wife that we NEED a 650s. I've always serviced and repaired my own vehicles so being able to do this on a McLaren is essential. What is the mds diagnostic tool that you use? What is the cheapest tool that has the ability to reset service intervals and provide most diagnostics for a McLaren? Cheers
MDS is the factory diagnostic tool. There are some other 3rd party tools out there which require an annual subscription and start around $2,000 I think. Those aren't as good at diagnostics either, but may do what's needed. Alternatively you could just get McMedics to go to you to do whatever is needed. Ultimately it will likely be cheaper than buying the tool.

0W-40 European formula, the filter goes to a 2012 BMW M3 also.

It seems to be common for dealers to say they need replaced, it's pretty rare they actually do. The best time to do a video is when something needs addressed and it happens so rarely that video will be a long time coming.

So I am confused. I recently learned that McLaren's are broken up into Sport, Super, and Ultimate categories. So are the cars in the sport category like the 570GT still a supercar? Or are they just a really fancy sport car? I hope my question makes sense. Thank you for your videos, it's nice to see how to maintain these cars on your own.
According to McLaren they're a sport car, which many will argue is still a supercar. It's all relative.
How did you take the top panel off to get into the filter?

More or less. Access from the top is different, this is unique to the 570GT.
Wich is your favorit Oli ? Can i use most of 0W40 Oil?
For McLaren I always use Mobil 1 European.

There are only 2 Autel that can do it and require a subscription to do it.
What oil did You use? Mobil 1 FS 5W40? My 570s is about 40k miles so I think its better then 0W40?
0w40, always. There isn't enough wear on the engine to change viscosity

Nope, most supercars don't, and a lot of cars made in the last decade don't.
@@McMedics Other than electronics, how would you know if the shop/dealership changed it?
The only way to know for sure is the service light was reset.
