And when I first heard that it's actually happening I was ecstatic. You are the only reason I gave top gear a chance. You are the only person I felt was worthy. Thank you Chris Harris. Thank you BBC. There. I said it. Now I'm gonna go watch this video again cos I spent half the time typing this.
Clarkson did not leave, he was fired for being a ass and hitting a server in a restaurant and he still is a ass. He did not get his steak perfect for him , again a ass.

I test-drove this car on the street and the highway - no track - and it was amazing. Very easy to drive, plenty of power and merging at 90mph was a gas.
this is exactly WHY Chris is the best at what he does. it's not ONLY about melting rear tires on a track. Yes he can do that all day long (if given enough rubber!). Yes he has experience in a variety of makes and models. Yes he spends HOURS trying to figure out the PERFECT t-shirt to wear. ok. may be not. He is about the CAR. Every car isn't and shouldn't be the same. He gives an honest evaluation of it based on his own set of wants in a car AND ex plains it in a way everyone can understand. He's the man all us guys would love to hang out with and the kind the girls.... wish he was taller. is the next episode ready yet?
I agree with everything you say. He's also very articulate and intelligent and witty. And his passion for cars is infectious. I'm pretty much a layperson when it comes to cars, but I'll still watch Top Gear because of him. P.S. I'm a girl and I like him just the way he is :D
Great video. I pulled the trigger on a 570GT on the basis of this, just like I did with the i8. Harris is absolutely spot on with his reviews, however be warned that the 570's brakes need a caveat: they need to be hot. When they're cold, they're scary as you get nothing for the first 2 or 3 inches of pedal travel then the pads bite and they bite hard. Challenging to drive hard but very, very rewarding. The GT appellation is a misnomer as it's not a soft GT in the style of a Conti GT or a DB9, it's a thoroughbred racer in a dinner jacket.

I see this is already been said, but I want to chime in, too. I really enjoy Chris Harris Drives. I appreciate his analysis of the cars, but the look and sound of these videos is outstanding. Now I really wish I'd spent more time in Wales. Well done to Chris and the team.
But Top Gear does have Harris/ And Harris wouldn't work as a single presenter and car tester and interviewer and journalist. THe only one that didn't work for me was Evans. Reid and even LeBlanc are quite alright.
This show from the producers to the spot boys I mean everyone and of course Chris Harris. Its their collective effort that the show is still watched and loved today. Without any exaggeration this show is the best running example of how the car shows should be made and filmed! Thank you top gear.. Wish you best of luck for the future
You guys are STILL whining about Top Gear?! Haven't your lives moved on? Personally I like CARS so I like the more journalistic approach without the dad jokes and purposely trying to cause controversy. Chris Harris is a superior 'car' presenter in every way than the old 3 guys and NONE of them could even drive a track properly yet still felt qualified to critique performance and handling. Give the new guys another year to settle in and they'll be brilliant. Then we can all shut up about it.

Top gear at a time was the MOST viewed television programme in the world, do you honestly believe such a niche market would of ever gotten so large if it had been factual like this, of course not. People watched the old top gear not because they liked cars but loved the chemistry between the three, the experiences and the raw hilarious relationship of them.They weren't just car reviews, they was entertainers. And bloody good ones at that!

Just like the lovely car in feature, this CHD videos are so pure and pleasant to watch. Those S curve sequences look so cool, even without any post processing, filters, etc.
Had a go in one of these last year and that might be one of the most fun cars i'v ever driven, although i only went 2 laps on a short circuit it instantly jumped to my top 3 fun cars. The turbolag is pure excitement in this car.

Lights like that actually blink rapidly, faster then the eye can see. When a camera films it, sometimes the filming rate (frame rate) mismatches with the blinking/refresh rate of the LED and lets you actually see the blinking. Also high speed, slow-mo cameras help you see faster than your eye can naturally see as well. But yea, LED lights appear to be "on" all the time but they're actually just blinking on and off really fast. That's the main thing to remember ;)
People will let you out at junctions in that for the same reasons people let Astons out, beautiful and British cars get respect. Talking about in the UK at least.
I've often been impressed by McLarens, and always have respected them, but outside of a few impossible daydreams to maybe try an F1 (who could refuse?), this is honestly the first video that made me WANT one.
Not only is Chris a fantastic driver and a pure joy to watch ..but the camera work that we see in these videos is utterly fantastic !

Not only is Chris a great driver and presenter, the camera work is exceptional and keeps new top gear miles ahead of the rest.
