Daredevil's Season 2 introduces the sultry & deadly Elektra. Here is a highlight reel of all the stunts of Elektra done by Lauren Mary Kim, Elodie Yung's Stunt double.
Yeah.. i think Lauren said on a video with the Corridor Crew that Elodie's a black belt in karate (if i'm not mistaken) so Elodie can also do some of her stunts. And when they're reviewing clips, they would get confuse who's who in the clip because their movements are almost identical..
They REALLY need to hire you for more video game work. This kind of combat would be insane in a fighting game. Imagine plugging in your skills to an Arkham Knight/Shadow of War style fighting system
12 yrs ago I saw the amazing potential of Lauren, takes a series this epic to unlock it, and a team of two people Elodie and Lauren to portray Elektra!
Wow, this lady is amazingly talented! Thank you for making Elektra look like a real badass! P.S. Out of curiosity, what is the title of the music used in this show reel?
#SaveDaredevil Marvel's way of making series and movies may need to be rethought. People watch series for different reasons, story, fight scenes ... it is not up to anyone to decide which reason has the greatest relevance. The series is one of the best adapted, but when you see the actor being replaced by a stuntman all the time in the fights you lose the immersion. Stuntmen obviously must substitute in risky scenes. Many scenes of Elektra the actress does not even appear, it is very noticeable because the stuntwoman has dark skin and is muscular. The actress knows how to fight, it makes no sense to see the fight for the fight and not her performance. These scenes do not have the verisimilitude necessary to maintain the "pact" with the viewer.
Thanks for your thoughts! I just do as I’m told as a stunt performer. I don’t really have a say what they use and not use for the final edit . Sometimes the actor wants the stunt double to do the action- other times the actor wants to. Every show is different and there are different time constraints with tv vs movies. We just try to do the best we can. We can’t please everyone but ever I try to listen to everyone’s point of view. So thank you
@@LaurenMaryKimStuntsIt is nothing against you and your work, for me you are an excellent martial artist, I think then it would be nice to have a movie or a series that you star at, after all you are beautiful and have good diction and oratory, it would not be difficult to be an actress in your case.
It is easy to see when an actor is replaced by a stuntman in a fight scene, this is terrible because it totally breaks the immersion you have when watching the TV show. In addition to being rude, it is disrespectful to those who are watching, it is vexing, especially when the actress is able to do that scene, even more when it comes to who is starring or co-starring. The producers seem to think about just how much they will receive and not the audience that is at home, waiting to see quality audio-visual content, especially in times of pandemic. One should be more careful in presenting the images of the actress on the screen, even from the back you can see that it is someone else, it is not only the face that changes.
@@doublep1980 Idiotic to think it's natural to see a whole scene made by stunt double and say that the actor plays the role. The whole scene, I'm not talking about acrobatics and takedowns, I'm talking about every kick and punch. If you don't see that the idiot is you.
@FlyingMonkies325 That's not the point, stunt doubles are doing whole scenes, and not just falls and stunts, understand that and don't say obvious things distorting my point of view.
@FlyingMonkies325 In the film Matrix, the producers delivered excellent audience action scenes, obviously stunt double substituted the actors in risky scenes, or to make movements that require a lifetime of training, it is known that computer graphics scenes were used. But the big difference in relation to the current films, is that they kept the pact with the viewer, because even with these resources, they kept the immersion of the viewer. The appearance of the stunt double was practically imperceptible. Today stunt doubles have more screen time than actors, Marvel managed to ruin the way superhero films are made. Élodie Yung and Evengeline Lilly are capable of doing much of their fight scenes, so they should have more screen time, but Marvel prefers to repeat the same cake recipe. A Black Widow fight scene cannot be compared to a scene made by Charlize Theron or Sasha Luss, Scarlett Johansson's stunt double has more screen time than the actress.
@FlyingMonkies325 If the actor is going to make a fighter, and has not learned to punch in a credible way, the role is for another. This is part of acting. Obviously, for stunts, a stunt-double is required.
Blimey. I remember thinking that whoever was doing her stunt's was flipping incredible. And now I know who! Such commitment to every action.
I can see why they hired her. Elodie moves just like her. Love them both.

You got the streets of rage! #Stuntdoubletakes
One Badass move @ 1:50
Hi. Can I ask you a question?
she is a stunt double what if she doesn't act well or its not her passion?
What if someone types a non-sensical question on UA-cam?

That is the dumbest thing, I read on youtube all week.
