The episode should have been called "Matt vs the KSP water physics". The long time viewer will have easily spotted the mistake RCE did here. He forgot to use the strongest shape!
It keeps spinning in the water because of the struts are putting stress on the frame and that puts a rotational force on the vehicle I know it doesn't work in real life but it is common in video games
I think the devs have come out and said basically "yeah water physics is currently broken." why they then included the boat launch in early access anyway is beyond me.
Including it allows them to watch youtubers and streamers as a means of seeing what all is wrong with them, and it doesn't waste the devs' time that could be better spent on other things.
another youtuber hypothesized that ksp2 wasnt initially intended to be Early Access and that the publisher informed the dev team, who were working towards a future date some years from now, late last year about the change. in this regard the dev team may not have had time to realize they left boat launch in, or removing boat launch borked something else so it had to stay.

Interestingly, the real world boat speed record, set by the Spirit of Australia, was over 317 MPH (141 m/s). Over double what RCE was able to get here!
Hi Matt, I don't personally own a copy of KSP2 so I can't test this for myself, but I know there are Hydrogen tanks in-game and it'd probably make sense that they'd be less dense than the water. Maybe it's worth a shot to strap a bunch of them on?
Actually Dennis has the speed record. Wouldn’t it be fun if you both dedicated all your time and content to besting one another in decimal point iterations.
@@Pigness7 you misunderstand. He must make vehicles dedicated to bridging crevices and nothing else. So he has to drive them from the base to location without leaving the ground.
The Center of pressure you keep refering to is the center of drag/lift. Basically you wanna keep that behing the center of mass relative to the direction you wanna be going. The further the drag is behing the mass the more stable it is and the further it is to the mass the more manuaverable it is. Avoid having the drag in front of the mass cuz then ur vehicle will try to flip backwards. Ofcourse this is for rockets and plane. Probably the same for ships though xD

UK Sea Agency... You mean like the royal navy? Also it's amazing how your videos made me kinda forget that the UK Space agency is a real thing. In my head it's just some RCE lore now :D (And I'm a huge space nerd, so this is really weird)
Stratzenblitz set the sea speed record on launch day by just putting 2 command pods together, and letting the water physics do its thing. He literally got to a steady 45m/s without any propulsion, with 2 command pods and 2 wings.
I've both enjoyed and hated these videos. Enjoyed, because they're bonkers. Hated, because they continue to prove how epically broken KSP2 is. As someone with 500 hours in the first game from 0.12 very early access to the present day, it breaks my heart to see the state of this game.

I would consider this true if even the space aspect was any good. This game is still incredibly broken that it's not even funny. It's just, sad.

Just some wholesome, non-euclidean fun.

Matt plan an expedition to the north pole but any crevice or gap found that the vehicle can't cross you must make deployable bridges to get across.
they do bring those on northern expeditions

I remember the early days of boating in KSP 1. We found out that you could slap air intakes on the bottom and they were buoyant for some reason.
I find funny the fact that he always gets the control of the wings for going up and down mix up.
You mean that he pulls them up and that means the ship goes down?
If that how it works then it can be easily explained why he sinks so fast
its because in game "w" key is down and "s" key is up
