I had never heard of TM:L until just now! And I'm a *huge* fan of the series since I played the first TM on PSX way back in the mid-90's! So basically, TM:L is pretty much Twisted Metal: Black 2 from the looks of it. Same cars, same dark, all-brown colour pallet, same dramatic music, same graphical style and vehicle models, etc. I never liked the dark & gloomy aspect of Black; it felt too samey; the levels were just as much of characters in previous TM games as the actual vehicles & drivers were, especially in TM2. So when I saw Black's stages, although well designed and fun to play, I thought to myself, "Well these all look very similar to each other; they're all dark, damp, and depressing". I realize that's the game's theme and all, and it works for it. But it just made me miss the traditional TM theme / charm. The twisted sense of humour but with a gritty, almost comic-book style "Escape From New York" type of vibe to it, rather than straight up trying to be a horror game on wheels.
I think Black the best horror and dark feel of any game I've played everything about the atmosphere reeked a unique dread and I love it the ost too just classic
For me, I could care less about the darkness look of Black. The major charm of that was that it fixed almost all of the problems that plagued 3 and 4, which made the game play almost like the the first two games.
I love Black, I started playing it when my brother had it back in the day. I was like 8-9. When I eventually got a PS2 around 10 years old, I got my own copy of Black. For me, Twisted Metal: Black is if Twisted Metal had a baby with Silent Hill. I later developed a dark view of the world, so I identify with the world of Black so much. I would love for Black to be remastered for PS4/PS5. But I love Small Brawl as well because I love RC cars, and I would love that remastered. But I think Twisted Metal 2 would benefit from a remaster. David Jaffe even wants to return to the world of Twisted Metal: Black.
@Baptisteog I would like for someone to take the beta of Twisted Metal Lost and and complete it into an actual game. I think that would sell. Also, there was no plane crash on the date with the 6 individuals who are described as video game developers. That story is a fabrication. The real reason is that David was conceiving God of War, and the team was occupied with Head On for the PSP. So Harbor City never got any attention aside from what's in Lost.
I picked this up finally last week. I was pleasently surprised by Lost. I think it would have been an okay game if they went through with it. I didn't like the harbor city idea very much but it played very similar to twisted metalX 2012. So it's cool to see that they kept the control scheme to Lost and used it in the new one.
Jordan Yehezkiel Off the top of my head... Brimstone? I know he launches people who latch onto cars and then self destruct. They aren’t zombies though.
Es el Twisted metal head on, pero es la versión extra Twisted, esa versión incluye estas zonas y los mismos personajes que el black, pero el juego principal de head one son los personajes del 2 de manera remasterizada
wendel rodriguez Try to buy Twisted Metal Head-On Extra Twisted Edition for PS2 at Amazon.com or something. Twisted Metal Lost is a bonus feature on the disc.
Much appreciated. Videos like these are hard to find.
You're welcome!

I wish more mainstream games would add completed levels from canceled games as a bonus feature.

Definitely. I think it was also neat to have a taste of what could have been.
I remember this game childhood memories
Hey dude, I used to play this and there's 1 character who throws some sort of zombies or corpse thing. I forgot the name.
Jordan Yehezkiel Off the top of my head... Brimstone? I know he launches people who latch onto cars and then self destruct. They aren’t zombies though.

this kinda looks like a beta for TM:Black
Are all the characters in this the exact same ones from "Black"?
Yes. But with the addition of Gold Tooth and 12 Pak.
Minion is not in it though.
Is this just Twisted Metal Black on the PSP?
PaniK_Leader Not exactly. Twisted Metal Head-On is on PSP; but it got a PS2 called “Extra Twisted Edition,” which includes these lost levels.
When I was a kid I played this thinking it was Twisted Metal Black lmao
Otimo jogo, lembra muito a minha infância, Obrigado pelo video
I don’t get it why they put this side game with twisted metal head on I mean what’s the point if they already cancelled twisted metal harbour city ??
Just a neat "what could have been" bonus feature for fans.
This is the real Twisted Metal black 2
I wish it could be real, because this is the Twisted Metal Harbor City we need.
It was so fun when I was little
I was wondering, is this game available on the PSP and not just PS2?
With the Lost Levels and bonus content that "Extra Twisted Edition" here offers, no. But Twisted Metal Head-On, by itself, was PSP originally.
You a play this game in Playstation 2 ?
Yes, I did.
