In this video I answer the question, do I regret paying off my $400K mortgage? I paid off my $400k mortgage 3 years ago at the age of 36 years old. Paying off my mortgage in full has changed my life. It has provided me with financial freedom and peace of mind so I can enjoy my life without worrying about living paycheck to paycheck. If you are working towards the goal of paying off your mortgage, you can do it, stay focused and delay instant gratification, you’ll be financially free before you know it.

Best decision we ever made was paying off our house! No way I could take risk in my career if I had a "fat" mortgage to pay for. If it wasn't because we paid off our house, I would never have the guts to just quit my job and try something new. Now, waiting for my husband to leave his job. We totally understand where you are coming from. You are living a life a lot of people could only dream of. Thank you for sharing your experience!

I've watched this video three times today. My wife and I just bought our first home and we've already knocked down $2,000.00 off of our $196,000.00 mortgage. To see a regular guy like me be able to do this gives the the motivation and hope that maybe my wife and I can do this in 5 years as well. Thanks for this video!

Say it again, PEACE OF MIND. I'm not looking back, 13 more months left to pay off that mortgage by December 2022.

I was cleaning out my pellet stove and I came across your videos a month ago. This morning getting after it again, I looked up videos, there you were again. After I kinda fixed my pellet stoves thermostat(I did ordered another). I came across this video, I relate to almost every part of your video. I’m from Southern Oregon and it seems you may be from Boston. My Mom is 7th generation Bostonian. I’ve been to Mass. I loved it.
I’m new to you tube but Man, I love it. Can’t stop, won’t stop. I have learned so much. Thank you for you videos.

Fantastic. "Peace of mind", indeed! We're hoping to join the "mortgage free" club by June of next year. We'll be 35 and (Lord willing) still have time left to invest.

I'm 33, I have 20k left on my mortgage, going to rent it out after and buy another place to repeat the process. Almost no risk and nearly 100% cash flow.

Thanks a lot for this 3 year later video. Made the decision today with my wife that after paying off an ungodly amount of student loan debt, this is the next mission objective. I guess it was reassuring. I mulled over the same points when coming to our decision. Thanks a lot. This video was a tremendous source of help and support. Love boxing too, its more like love hate though ie match ups, crooked judging.

I don't mean to laugh, but I feel like I'm listening to a story about me, LOL! I never have any luck in the stock market, I always lose my ass when I try to play with stocks (Well known stocks too), I have the worst timing ever. I've stupidly sold my 2bd 1bth Beach Condo that was making me money on weekly rentals in the summer time and it was almost paid in full with only 23k left to go. I had a paid for house, but sold it to get the hell out of the city and move back to the beach, and now have a 172k mortgage @ 2.99%. The one good thing I do have going for me is I don't have any other debts. Right now I am busting my ass to get my mortgage paid off because some day I would like to get a place in Florida for my retirement. Thanks for the video, I'm glad to see I am not the only one who makes mistakes.

First of all, THANK YOU FOR THE TIPS and sharing your story... Sir, as much 'bad luck' as you've endured, I must say, I want to be like this guy! haha... and looking at my budget, I'm three years behind where you are in this video! I can't wait to have my mortgage payoff in a few months!

If you pay off your mortgage with a bunch of money you had, earned. Can you not change your mind remortgage your own house and do whatever?

Who's to say a global economic collapse won't make stock investments go sideways for the next 10+ years? Paying off debt is 100% guaranteed savings that you won't have to pay every month ever again. That savings can then be used for investments.
