I had several prescriptions for blood pressure, chronic UTI, panic attacks and depression and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I’ve lost 60 pounds first by Keto and intermittent fasting and I’ve just started carnivore. No more meds! No high blood pressure! No more hot flashes! I feel better one month from my 60th birthday than I did in my 50’s, 40’s, 30’s and most of my 20’s! I basically dragged myself through those years! Recently, I worked 18 days in a row, 10-14 hour days and I was FINE! Wearing shorts this summer for the first time in 20 years and I bought a swimsuit this week!!! After 20 years of struggle to lose weight, Keto saved my life.

Just to note that after this, my type one diabetic husband went carnivore with me! My “chubby hubby“ is now very thin within healthy parameters according to the BMI charts. He has gone from over 80 units of insulin a day down to about 11. His roller coaster blood sugars from way too high to way too low and back up and down and up and down have leveled to normal levels all the time about 100. He is so much healthier!

If Carnivore means food that is from the animals only then the somalis has always been keto and carivore because we are nomadic people in somalia. My great grandfather was nomadic and his diet was only 100 organic grassfeed meat milk and butter and some wild berrys. The nomads do not eat all the time so fasting for hours is a part of their life. My great grandfather was very healthy until he lost his animals and then got introduced to grains he then became sick.
But the doctors are always tellings us to stay away from butter and red meat and instead use vegetable oil and lots of carbs they also the way we somalis are sick is because of the meat that we always eat . Thanks to you dr Berry and dr Berg on UA-cam I know now that our somali nomadic diet is a good diet.

Mag Ma -Carnivore diet is one of animal, products, period, where are you getting the food police 75% flesh nonsense from? Differing amounts of muscle meat, organs, fat etc are determined by the individuals tastes, needs ,budget and availabity.Thats it,simple, nutrient dense species appropriate food that is healthy.

I found out that refined Carb’s triggered me!!! Once I got the hang of Carnivore and stopped buying all the other fruit, veg and refined Carb’s I saved a fortune and can buy organic butter, the best cuts of meats, organic chicken (as a celiac, grain fed chook makes me ill, bad taste in mouth etc). Suit is beef fat that's use for the birds. Tallow is the beef fat that is more pleasant to our human taste buds. Schmalz is goose fat. Schmalz can also includes pig lard. Generally the pig lard is just called lard.
It's actually best to keep the different fats separated. I use jars the size of peanut butter jars, mark them as to what fat is in there and freeze them. It's easy to take a frozen jar out and keep it in the fridge for daily use.

Margarine was developed originally for fattening turkeys. it was discontinued because the farmers said it was killing their turkeys. Since they had spent so many funds on developing this product, they asked their marketing department what could they do to recover the funds. Oleo was then created and a coloring of yellow packets were added. Just a FYI.

I've gotten my diabetic mother to finally wrap her head around the fact that her diabetes is reversible, but she insists that she still needs to eat her "Whole Grains". I've watched a lot of your YT content but does anyone of your videos lay out why whole grains are not needed? Or even better is that information in Lies my Doctor Told me that I haven't gotten to yet? I need help getting my mom to understand that she needs to let go of carbs altogether.

Thank you for exposing the Mediterranean diet. I was in Cyprus for half a year and all the "vegetables and salads" they eat are just some tomatoes and olives on the sides of their lamb and beef kebab and gyro meats.

To those of you not losing weight on keto or carnivore. Bottom line… you still need to be in a caloric deficit. PERIOD. As a trainer for 25 years, and a proponent of these diets for my clients, I know first hand. If 2,500 cals is your maintenance, and you eat until your full twice a day, and each meal is 1,250 calories, you will not lose body fat. You may lose some water weight if you’re just starting, but you won’t lose fat. I see this all of the time. People think they are in a deficit when they really are not. You need to track and weigh your foods if you’re serious about consistent fat loss. Don’t let anyone fool you. The law of thermodynamics is constant regardless of the diet or macronutrient breakdown.

Love these q&a videos! Could you do a video sometime about checking blood sugars and blood ketones and what is considered a spike? Also, when is the best time to test blood ketones for a spike-
after 30 minute or longer? I've seen so many videos of food products being tested to see if they cause a blood sugar spike and they either don't test the ketones or they only test ketones at the 2 hour mark. I understand that everyone is different so what may not cause a blood sugar spike in one person may not cause a spike in another. That's why I think checking blood ketones is necessary, too.

As of 8-11-20 At our WM in Oklahoma the 10# 80/20 ground beef is $2.70/lb !
That is so doable folks. That is the bulk of my diet. I cook 1-1.5lb with 2-3 Cups cabbage, seasoned well. I put this over some iceberg lettuce. I eat this everyday in 2 meals and love it. Even my non-keto husband loves it. Now that WM ribeyes are back down to 8.97/lb we have that at least once a week.
I also cook up big batches of ground beef, cool, then freeze in a big ziplock. Sometimes i drain some of the fat.

If you have a Costco membership, try your local businesses Costco. They sell case price meat. I have found 1/2 the price or more per lb. but you have to buy bigger packs.

An old school nurse that I used to work with, told me to use fibre (metamucil) to help after my gall bladder surgery. It binds things together to stop the explosion. Also, pepto bismal (handy in a pinch and especially when traveling...). I also got good at intermittent fasting because early mornings are my optimal eating time.
