I am thrilled that someone else has my similar complaints about the movie. Transformers: Rise of the Beats was supposed to be a breath of fresh air. It was a sign of hope. What we got is another forgettable action movie that tries to be something bigger than it really is.
It's just hypocrisy that people are saying ROTB Optimus Prime is justified in killing Scourge Mortal Kombat style because he killed Bumblebee? And it's funny considering the fact that Bumblebee was resurrected later in the movie lol Bayverse Optimus Prime also had plenty of reasons to be violent Lost Jazz Had to sacrifice his brother to save Earth Was pressured to leave Earth Got killed by Megatron Lost Jolt, Arcee and Chromia Lost the person he loved the most, Elita-1 (left on bad terms with each other as well) Was lied to by the humans Was betrayed by Sentinel Prime Forced into leaving Earth Lost Ironhide, The Twins and Que Unwillingly killed his former leader and teacher Betrayed by the humans, losing more Autobots in the process Lost one of his oldest friends, Ratchet Joshua Joyce told that he wasn't needed to defend Earth anymore Captured by Lockdown and was told his creators wanted him back Quintessa told that he caused Cybertron destruction Quintessa brainwashed him, turning him into Nemesis Prime Quintessa told that the planet he was defending was actually Unicron Sure, he's done some violent things, but calling him "psycho-murderer" is a big stretch too far. The Bayverse Decepticons genuinely look like death machines and have negatively impacted both physically and mentally. Not a coincidence either that some of the brutal kills he's been involved in are regarded as some of the best scenes in the movies, even the franchise. And it's a new take on the character, and I like the idea of Optimus fuelled with rage by the war.
Both Primes were justified in their actions. Rotb Optimus may not have lost anything, but it's just the first film in a trilogy. And yes, Bumblebee survived, but give me one good reason why he shouldn't have kill Scourge? Scourge was still a dangerous enemy who killed many bots and cons under the command of Unicron. Such an enemy cannot be spared.
I still find these reasonings to be bullshit because it doesn't matter how many "justifications" and "reasons" he has because he would never go out of his way to act like an unhinged maniac and go around murdering people by ripping their spines out. Optimus Prime despite the losses he would go through would still never stoop as low as to begin acting like his enemies. Also, he barely had any interaction with any of the Autobots who died in these movies, we don't get a sense that he cared for them or saw them as a family to the point that you'd understand why he would act like a maniac.
@@HenryLouis21 you truly have no brain cells. It’s justified and reasoning we don’t care if it’s bullshit to you that’s what makes bay former prime good
@@HenryLouis21I would agree with most of your points if the Decepticons in the films wouldn't protrayed as actual monsters that has proven time and time again, especially when they seem gleefully happy to kill both Autobots and humans without a second thought along with showing no mercy to their enemies. I kind understand that Bayverse Optimus can be a bit too violent but saying that he's stooping low as his enemies just because of his brutal kills on screen sounds very disingenuous, especially when there's context for why he did them mainly to stop the Decepticons from causing harm to humanity and saving Earth. Also did you even watch the films closely, we see that he does in fact care about his Autobot companions and humans in the film, we have scenes of him talking to them and is usually chilled out in his spare time. Granted maybe we should have more scenes of him talking with the Autobots, but saying that he doesn't care for them really shows that you're basically in the group of fans who essentially too bayverse prime actions out of context.
@@HenryLouis21 so it’s bullshit because Optimus kills decepticons brutally even knowing they deserve it Yep I can tell that you don’t understand the meaning of a warrior
Agreed, RotB is overloved and most people who love it don't even love G1 or watch the Primal show from 20-30 years ago. The people who LOVE ROTB Prime SHOULDN'T complain about Bayverse Prime, especially with the whole "he says a bunch of psycho shit stuff!"
The design really kills it for me. It's horrendous. In g1, tfp, TF2007 - 11, TF6, wfc, DW, Marvel and IDW, he looks really good. I can even get behind his designs in AOE, tfp season 3, and the Unicron trilogy. The ROTB version looks lame and weird in every way possible. It's not as bad as Earthspark, but that's not saying much.
Honestly the design in rise of the beast isn't that bad and I actually really like it and tbh most the designs bayverse weren't all that good neither a lot of them where really bad hell most of the decepticons where a bunch of generics and some where reused designs not mention some of the good designs in bayverse is wasted and just used as cannon fodder for prime and bumblebee to gun down
They could've done better cuz I thought that the CGI was broken or something, could've made it more obvious with more defining features that remind us of cullen
I also really didn't like how Optimus Prime seemed to have so little care for humans. He seemed to go directly against every. aspect of his character from every other medium.
I agree with some with the Bayverse but i disagree with ROTB. He’s another main character who’s going for an arc and the film is semi prequel reboot which I thought time travel is involved and the Transformers lore is no stranger to the concept. I initial felt weirded out when they show his face it grew on me, but they do get an extra point because he’s based out of Peter Cullen. Sometimes an epic performance of a great character should be reflected by their performers.
Here's the thing about openings dude. Openings are supposed to let us know (as the viewer) what where getting into. If they kept the fight between Optimus and Transit then people would think that Rise of the *BEASTS* (being the key word) was about the Decepticons finding the Autobots on Earth. And they would somehow fit Terrorcons, Unicron, the Maximals into this. If that opening was in there, HELL IF TRANSIT WAS IN THERE THEN IT WOULD HAVE MADE THE MOVIE SO F***ING CONFUSING!! I'm sorry it's just I really like this movie. I'm not saying the fight was bad (it was amazing, and it would probably make its way into a sequel), I'm saying that the beginning we got is so much better (in my opinion). It shows us the Maximals home get destroyed, it showed us how powerful Scourge and Unicron is, and it was a better opening than the original (again my opinion). And that fight with Transit and Optimus was going to end with Optimus putting Transit's body in a river, FILLED with other dead Decepticons (too much Bayverse Prime). And do you even remember how ROTF began? It started with Optimus saying stuff about how humans are violent and shit. And they used primitive humans to describe that "savagery". Not the gun shootin, tank drivin, NUKE EXPLODIN, I'm sorry I'm... I'm getting worked up. And then it has the Autobots hunting Decepticons in Shanghai. Where Sideswipe killed pointless con 1 and Optimus killed pointless con 2... then it goes to Sam's chihuahua. Because that perfectly transitions like peanut butter and that tuna salad that you threw out last night. Yeah I don't have a good comparison, just what the hell? Optimus's death on the other hand, Optimus got killed 40 minutes in. And then there's horny robots, racist robots, Megatron being a weak ass leader, and Devastator's fucking testicles. Seriously who the hell thought that was a good idea?! But if you like the Transit fight more than what we got, then so be it. I can't change your mind. Opinions are opinions. Have a good rest of your day.🙂
@@mahmoodluqmaanbinmahmooddi3837same here since bee destroyed the device so how did transit arrive on earth and if he how did he know that autobots are there and he destroyed his ship so that makes no sense I would say that the opening which we got has more meaning than the scene which got deleted
That transformers game is so good, if you play it like a racing game and you just mess around in free-roam. I used to race around and kill cop cars by ramming into them, since they don't aggro until you shoot them, so you can just bully them on their patrol route.
I wouldn’t say I hate the design, though I do think it’s more…bland, compared to Bayverse. And I definitely did not like his character that much in this movie
It's funny that Cybertron Optimus did this better with his whole "don't interact with the locals" and learns that working with them helps the mission succeed, but here it was almost Animated Sentinal's disgust for organics level of disgust for humans.
my main issue was that they didnt make him more like tfp optimus, the optimus in transformers prime lost everything too, his people, his home and his close friend that now leads the decepticons, and was even forced to destroy a spacebridge, their one way of getting home to save humanity. but even then he tries to stay strong, because his team simply cant afford having their leader, who is their foundation, in a depressed state. he has to stay strong so others around him can feel. i understand why people do like his characters in the movie, especially if you haven't watched tfp, but i feel like he would've been better portrayed had they taken advantage of the fact that transformers prime optimus is literally the best example of optimus we've had in many years. and take inspiration from that
I liked it (the music at the end from the bayverse solidified it) I mostly didn't like how Optimus was suddenly able to beat scourge (ROTF was polite enough to give him a BS dragon ball power up lol) I didn't like how Mirage's character made no sense (he can be repaired entirely from Earth metal, he can store multiple alt modes, he can mass shift into a garbage truck, he can become a suit of armor for humans? And he can make perfect holograms of himself??) I also really didn't like the intro. Walking into "Transformers" at the theaters and then being met with "tell jokes, white people love that sh1t" and "What's with the suit you square? I just don't support capitalism" It was just hella... weird. The rest was fine though
So, I don't quite agree with you. Admittedly, Optimus can sometimes be a bit of a pain in the ass in the film, but that's how it is. With each film in the bayverse he becomes more and more violent, even exceeding the limits he had set for himself. Then in my opinion and this is my choice, the Optimus design of Rise of the Beast takes some elements from the G1 and also from Bumblebee which is a pretty good thing, and then the directive of the film is not that of Michel Bay who wanted to make him a character who, even if he seems powerful, remains upright and fair. The other face was made in this way so that it looks a little like a Cybertronian face and that it doesn't feel like a leader doesn't change the thing since he is a basic leader and he would stay at least until we decided to change the leadership! And last point, for the fact that you say it's a bit empty, it's normal because the events of the film take place in the 80s and 90s so good before the events of Michael Bay's movies and also the autobots have been stuck on Earth for 7 years and he can't get used to the idea of staying because according to him it's because of him that the autobots are stuck on Earth due to the fact that they lost the battle on cybertron against the decepticons. That's it, I've given my opinion and I hope he'll tell you what I think about it (after on some points you're right) but it's not a way to represent a cult character from the 80s. I also hope you'll like all the details I put in this little comment;) Otherwise, continue as you are and only change when in the important moments. So as Optimus would say: Till all are one !
Optimus Prime: Before time began, there was the Michael bay We know not where it comes from, only that it holds the power to create worlds and fill them... with life. That is how our race was born. For a time, we lived in harmony. But like all great directors, some wanted them for good, others for evil. And so began the war. A war that ravaged our planet until it was consumed by death, and the Michael bay... was lost to the far reaches of space. We scattered across the galaxy, hoping to find it, and rebuild our home. Searching every star, every world. And just when all hope seemed lost, message of a new discovery drew us to an unknown director called... Travis knight.
im crying right now this dude is literally amazing from defending my boy to the twins to rotf or even sharing my complaints about rotb bro i love you man
You do realize that the dude has spent several long years on earth (which wasn’t his plan) endlessly looking for ways to go home right? The dude like many other versions of him are very old and have been through hell and back 1000x over in this war. Loss, betrayal, regret, depression etc is all he has to hide from the other autobots to give them hope so of course he’ll have moments where he isn’t appearing strong like you want him too. Anybody in his shoes (including you) would either be in an insane asylum or dead due to the millions of years of stress and other emotions and responsibilities.
Ignoring the retro design, I rooted for the character given to the cast. Even the humans who always get in the way didn't felt shallow. What I didn't like was how forced the final battle felt.
People whine about the bayverse then drink their copium about how much better the new reboot movies are. When these newer films are littrely just bayverse movies but neutered with all the life drained for them packaged for 6 year olds Bumblebee 2018 is littlrely transformers 2007 but made for 6 year old children (no wonder the g1 fans love it they are manbabies) rise of beasts is just any other bayverse film but everything is worse, the story is worse, the cgi is worse, the music is worse, the characters are worse. Peoples number 1 complaint about the bayverse was the lack of focus on the bots and terribly written human characters . The new movies succeed in way to much focus on boring main human characters
Bumblebee is NOTHING like the bay movies. Only the concept of story is similar. Yet, the type of story is still different. Basically, it's more the heartfelt story, with more believeable interactions and relationships between the two main characters, and with more proper story. Besides, the movie had decent fanservice, and really good action scenes along with fight choreography. That's why this movie was so lickable. It's just felt like something really fun, and refreshing comparing to total emptiness and dissapointment of The Last Knight.
@@vlad2OO5 I agree yes the type of story is different even tho structurally its simililar. Personally I prefer 2007 transformers over bumblebee. Obviously it's okay for you to have yours, my reasonings for preferring it are 1. Better CGI 2. Preferred the soundtrack 3. Preferred the cinematography 4. Preferred the More serious/realistic tone 5. Preferred the humor 6. Preferred the action/fight scenes 7. Preferred the pacing 8. Preferred the autobot and human character writing My critics for bumblebee was it was way too focused on charlie in my opinion I didn't really like the way they wrote her and I felt the family was more annoying than Sam witwickys family Also they casted the annoying kid who played Greg in diary of a wimpy kid as charlies younger brother which added to me feeling that way. I'd say it's mostly a matter of taste I probably enjoy bumblebee as much as I do last knight. And I didn't like the last knight either cuz it lacked most of those points I stated. Overall my ranking for transformers movies are. 1. 2007 (Really enjoy) 2. Dark of the moon (Moderately enjoy) 3.revenge of the fallen (So bad it's good) 4.age of extinction (Boring flick) 5.rise of beasts (I'm falling asleep) 6.the last knight and bumblebee (Let's watch something else)
@@CalledByHim Understandable. Yet, something feels of. In your ranking Rise Of The Beasts stands higher than Bumblebee and The Last Knight. But, didn't you said that the newest films is way worse comparing to other bayverse movies?
Funny enough, I only know 1 person who has a similar opinion, I hadn't heard this take on the movie. I thought the movie was really good, I enjoyed what they did. I also wish they kept the transit scene, i feel they couldve put it right after the scene with the Maximals, i do appreciate the Maximals opening to set up their existance, otherwise just like the dinobots they wouldve just come out of nowhere, and i felt that Optimus' arc in this movie was alright. Despite the many complaints one could have with this movie. I personally really enjoyed it
Yeah and when we see how many screen time had at least one character in the movie you an actually understand why CGI in Bayverse looks still good. Because Transformers characters in Bayverse are nothing more then just walking CGI.
I'm a bit of g1 fan myself but don't act like most of them that want everything to be g1 and honestly looking back bayverse best movie was 2007 the decepticons where my favorite because there actually serious problems the rest just went downhill from there. G1 is good but it's not my top favorite my favorite is prime and animated especially animated because it's the show that got me into transformers in the first place way before bayverse.
3:38 yea but that's not the original, in Rise Of The Beast he looked more original more close to what he did in the 80s cartoon and that's what most ppl like, most hate the bays look
So optimus is a leader in rise of the beasts just a conflicted one and towards the climax of the film he shows he is the leader of the autobots. Just like in 2007 he understands that saving earth is the heroic choice. Optimus isnt always a leader as it is fairly common for him to grow into being a leader. I agree that his design is worse than before however he is optimus prime and unlike the bayverse where he savagely kills his enemies and even humans on occasion. I grew up with the bayformers but ive understood that those films are not transformers in its themes and characters its just another blockbuster. And whilst rise of the beasts is not that good its a good step in the correct direction.
@@Eternal_Tardis He only kills one character savagely in ROTB and even then it's only really on the same level as bonecrushers death in 2007 except in the bayverse he goes on to execute sentinel despite pleading for forgiveness, kills Megatron who wants peace and the end. Then goes on to kill a human in AOE. In revenge of the fallen he rips of the face of the fallen as well as ripping grindors face apart. Ripping out shockwaves eye in DOTM. Telling the autobots to rip a deception apart in the same film . Whilst ROTB does include him brutally kill one character. Unlike the bay verse it was a lot more about Optimus becoming the leader he is. as throughout the film Optimus can't seem to work together with Noah as a good leader would but by the end of the film prime is willing to be stranded on earth just to save Noah's planet. The death of scourge is more of a killing of passion for everything we see from all developed characters culminating in his death. Whereas prime in bayformers kills just because they are the enemy which of course is not who prime is as Optimus prime shouldn't consider the death of another life to be first option to dispose of them but rather the last. Both films get this incorrect but one kills more for a reason and only at the end of the film compared to bayformers prime.
@@thesovietseal5887 I'm just gonna bet that in the future Transformers movies, Optimus is gonna become a brutal killing machine like he was in the Bayverse
2:15 Yes but there are transformers in the Unicron Trilogy that look like other bots thag have different names. And Scourge in G1 was made by Unicorn and he was a truck like Scourge in RID 2015.
Everytime optimus speaks I get goosebumps, but in this movie......... Everytime he speaks its annoying. Thats not optimus. Changing the personality of such an iconic character is unacceptable. Hes kinda like a complaning spoilt brat! Seriously! Optimus Prime ! God I haye this movie.
Character development isn't a food btw. ROTB did what Bayverse didn't : make Optimus a real character with an arc, a reason to why he's like this. At the end of the film he's more close to the Prime that we knew in G1 gneh
@@Amperedz19245 ROTB didn't make Optimus with real character arc and he never became like G1 Optimus. Optimus in ROTB has no reasons to behave the way he does. Bayverse has an actual development for Optimus
I have yet to watch the movie, but my opinion is already a low bar due to the designs of the characters. The fact that they gave them the voice actors’ faces just sent my overall opinion based on the trailers from like a 6 to a 3 out of 10. They shouldn’t have done it, it was stupid and I didn’t want to watch the movie to see Peter Cullen in it basically deepfaking himself as Optimus Prime. That would be like if Mark Hamilton played his Joker. It’s the same issue I have as the voice actors for Clone Wars playing their characters in Star Wars. I don’t care how good the makeup and shit is, I don’t want to see voice actors doing the acting. People love Darth Vader because he had an actor and a voice actor to give him the voice, that worked, that was cool, if it was the voice actor themselves it simply wouldn’t have worked.
Optimus Prime's face is literally based off of his legendary voice actor, while yes I do agree but if it wasn't for it not being based off of Peter Collin I wouldn't have loved it as much as I do now.
This dude is complaining about how Optimus Prime is whining like a kid while not understanding that this is a younger version of Optimus Prime who has a lot to learn about being a leader, The movie was amazing; it had a few problems here and there but overall a great movie.
He was already one un bblebee, this is why the arc doesn’t work, god you guys would be shown a dish made of vomit and would enjoy it just because its called (delicious food)
It's not for Optimus to be the leader he needed to be, but to remember why was he leader in the first place. In Bumblebee, he sent Bumblebee to protect Dirt and it's people. But eventually, after 7 years on Dirt he lost sight of why he wanted to protect Dirt, possibly of sanity dropped. He's on planet Dirt for 7 years and all he does is hiding in plain sight cramped up in his vehicle mode and hunt Decepticons in the night where less humans are likely to be up. Remember when he talked to Noah about how he lost sight of the term 'till all are one? The whole movie was about him trying to remember that again thanks to Primal who along with his Maximals allied with humans.
I respectfully disagree. Bay Prime had great character writing in the 2007 movie, way more faithful to G1 than RoTB btw, and I don't even need to mention DoTM.
I can see what they were going for in ROTB with Optimus, it's fine to include a character arc for him but I think they over did it in some parts, like the part where he blames the failed mission in the museum on Noah and Helena, that was uncalled for. This movie isn't worse than ROTF tho that's for sure, at least here they tried to make the characters well, you know, characters.

You can make a weaker version of Optimus Prime go from zero to hero over the course of a story as opposed to starting out as a powerful leader. Case in point Transformers Animated whos an underdog and Transformers Ones Orion. The problem is that in rotb its kinda half assed and like they dont wanna commit to it so they just make him go through an arc of being a better leader but not really cause hes already a leader at the same time
I'm glad they removed Transit from the movie. Earth was meant to be a safe haven from Decepticons, at least give us a movie or two without them (which I appreciate) and having even a single Decepticon be there ruins what Optimus said in Bumblebee, besides we could see Transit again and actually have a longer battle too. Not to mention how Optimus acted in the deleted scene was more like Bayformers Optimus when he was just murdering.
Average Bayverse fanboy who likes a psychotic killer rampage Optimus instead of a emotional and relatable Prime who we are empathetic towards since he lost his home
3.6 stars for Rise of the Beast and 4.2 for Revenge of the fallen 4.5 stars for Dark of the moon and 4.5 for bay versus transformers 1. yeah explains it all you dummies 🤣
prime in the Rise Of The Beast made more sense cause hes new to earth so why should he trust humans and care much what happens to them? and that's how character growth is made, they start from zero and move up, i guess u want fully dev character who has no character growth in bumblebee he was only in few seconds so there is nothing to take away from there

Defeating Scourge felt forced for me because the movie was at the ending sequence, and it didn't felt like the final fight was enough, but I'd still say I enjoyed it for the screen time and character development, despite the lack of carnage
bay optimus had character. he actually has quite a bit in common with his 80's predecessor, he's just a lot more vicious. he starts off like this in 07 saying "we must not let the humans pay for our mistakes" but then you head to AOE where he's all like "how many more of my kind must be sacrificed to pay for your mistakes" i think optimus had some pretty nice character development throughout the bay films as he becomes more and more jagged by the war. primes arc in AOE is learning to give the humans a second chance, regaining his faith in humanity. very similar to rotb optimu's arc except this time its done a lot better because we have an understanding of what prime has went through. unlike rotb optimus who's just an asshole for no reason at all
@@weewoo695 that doesn't make the character good when bayverse optimus is too uncharacteristically violent. Optimus as a character is violent when necessary, he doesn't go mortal combat on his opponents like bayverse prime did. Bayverse optimus had character but it was uncharacteristically NOT optimus. If he was his own character or if his suppose "PTSD" was actually shown more then he would be met with less controversy. Rotb optimus lost everything and is doing everything he can to keep the family he has left, that's being standoff-ish and not trusting humans entirely out of fear and concern. On top of that, he doesn't just commit war crimes like bayverse optimus (killing megatron who offered a truce comes to mind, original tf3 ending had them forming a truce)
Can we also talk about how ROTB autobots and terrorcons look like Blender models. I swear I feel like they're being fully lit like they have a giant ring light infront of them. To be honest i really enjoyed rise of the beast and me personally Optimus had more character than he did in bayverse rather than being bloodthirsty 90 percent of the time also roftb Optimus face is based of Peter Cullen face. Oh i strongly disagree with what said about revenge of the fallen yeah the fights where good but thats it and a lot people hated the twins overall the movie had to many unnecessary sex jokes and of course the overused Exposition plus the human characters have most of the screentime its supposed to be transformers movie but the transformers characters themselves are literally side characters in there own movie. I just agree with the desing but with optimus prime in the bayverse been better I have to say big no . Even I think optimus prime of the bayverse is not a bad prime the rise of the beast is more human, The difference between optimus from 2007 and robt is that in 2007 cybertron is lost not even with the cube the entire planet is death and he had sector seven in their tales he cared more for the humans than his own autobots we can’t really see him show emotion . In robt prime is also in a lot of pressure their home is getting into a civil war and he is stuck on earth. he was trying to act like a leader but with no way to get back home the prime will end frustated. All of this is more than enough to show robt prime is also justify is not a bad prime. other thing i recommend you to look prime as the same way you look at the bayverse prime because even we like bayverse we can say more worst things about him be more objective and try to respect others point of view this will help you to be a better youtuber better than you are now I recommend you to see robt prime again and see the good things on it why people like him more than the bayverse
Rotb at least attempted a buildable story. Tf1 through DOTM was just a blockbuster, action packed, shit story, movie. Prime in bayverse didn't look like a truck at all in 4 or 5 and looked like a overwhelming mess in 1,2, and 3 (I was fine with the design) but still you didn't get the idea he was a truck. In rotb he looks like a truck, like a more detailed live action g1 rendition and with the character itself. Besides fire quotes that rose you from your seats in bayverse he was a merciless killing machine that unlike tfp (inflicted harm as the first option rather than once all other options had been exhausted) Killing humans without regret, like when did we see that. Rotb prime was on earth for so long. He only wanted to return home and was getting old. He blamed himself for the war as he was the prime and so many lives were lost under his command. He wasn't as young and fit as he used to be, more old and cranky to an extent. Rotb Prime was a leader but was weaker in comparison to the terrorcons so he couldn't go on a murder streak. I thought the movie was good, not all about action and big robots shooting each other. None of the transformers movies are good but Rotb's story can at least be built on.
I hated everything about this version of Optimus because he is basically his Bayverse interpretation but acts like an asshole and is way worse as if Bayverse Optimus wasn't any different. How was it demoralizing to see Optimus struggle and have character flaws? Optimus blaming himself for getting the Autobots stranded there wasn't really an issue, and you saying he should "man up" sounds really problematic because what do you mean by "manning up" by beginning to act like a stoic and hyper-violent asshole that is more than happy to kill anyone to put himself on top? Sounds very in line with Toxic Masculinity. Also, I would love to know why you think Earthspark Optimus is a bad interpretation of the character because so far he is the best version of the character we've gotten; he acts like Optimus and feels like a strong and compassionate leader but also a good father figure.
Really? Earthspark? Nah, he maybe works as a father figure. But, does it makes him an interesting character? No. Hes even more borring than even his Tf Prime version. Rotb Prime at least have something. He have some kind of character arc in the movie, he feels younger in his actions, doesn't trust humans, etc. At least they tried to do something with him. Earthspark is just... Optimus but... with some sense of humor? No, really, why is he the best? He's not even the main character, but a secondary one. And, he doesn't really affect the plot. It's not bad interpretation of Optimus, he's just basic.
Optimus Prime: Before time began, there was the Cube. We know not where it comes from, only that it holds the power to create worlds and fill them... with life. That is how our race was born. For a time, we lived in harmony. But like all great power, some wanted it for good, others for evil. And so began the war. A war that ravaged our planet until it was consumed by death, and the Cube... was lost to the far reaches of space. We scattered across the galaxy, hoping to find it, and rebuild our home. Searching every star, every world. And just when all hope seemed lost, message of a new discovery drew us to an unknown planet called... Earth.
@@vlad2OO5 Yes it does, Optimus in Earthspark is a much more interesting character then the murderous self-righteous lunatic in these movies. What Optimus has in ROTB is nothing but him acting like an asshole to everyone for no good reason and suddenly doesn't trust humanity. Don't give me this bullshit that Optimus is younger in ROTB when he is meant to be the well-established leader who has fought for millions of years. Him not trusting humans doesn't make sense because why doesn't he trust humans? He acts like humanity are a selfish bunch who look after himself which is hypocritical because he does the same and how is he any different from what he accuses of? Earthspark Optimus is actually a leader, a caring father figure who looks out of his fellow Autobots. That is more preferable to the asshole who hates everyone for no good reason and is stupidly desperate to go back home to Cybertron which is still overrun with Decepticons with no form of plan on how to reclaim the planet.
@@WesCaptain480 Wow, thank you for recapping the opening speech of the first movie for no good reason and contributing nothing to the conversation at all.
@@HenryLouis21 Well, i can see that. But just because he's skeptical about human's, it doesn't make him asshole. He have a reason's to be skeptical about them. Remember how they treated Bumblebee in the previous movie? And even teamed up with the Decepticons? In my opinion, this is a pretty solid reason to be skeptical about the humans. Yes, there was a girl that helped Bumblebee, but still, not every people can be like that. So, i can understand Prime on this one. I actually think action's of this Optimus is more wise, than in Bayverse. There, Optimus naively, and completly trusted them, respected them, admired them. And what did they do after Prime saved them for the 3rd time? Of cource! They tried to kill him, and they slaughtered most of remaining Autobots, including Ratchet. Besides, why is everyone keep forgeting that new Prime stoped being «asshole», and accepted humans's help?
Bayverse prime was one of the reasons I hated the movies as a kid, bumblebee and rotb made me feel hope, so don’t say ‘rotb prime is grumpy, he bad’ when bayverse prime was murderous and shitty
I am thrilled that someone else has my similar complaints about the movie. Transformers: Rise of the Beats was supposed to be a breath of fresh air. It was a sign of hope. What we got is another forgettable action movie that tries to be something bigger than it really is.

@@andreasedich2418 yes actually
I found out the reason why roftb is different from the Bee movie as well as the designs is because Travis Knight didn’t direct it
It's just hypocrisy that people are saying ROTB Optimus Prime is justified in killing Scourge Mortal Kombat style because he killed Bumblebee? And it's funny considering the fact that Bumblebee was resurrected later in the movie lol
Bayverse Optimus Prime also had plenty of reasons to be violent
Lost Jazz
Had to sacrifice his brother to save Earth
Was pressured to leave Earth
Got killed by Megatron
Lost Jolt, Arcee and Chromia
Lost the person he loved the most, Elita-1 (left on bad terms with each other as well)
Was lied to by the humans
Was betrayed by Sentinel Prime
Forced into leaving Earth
Lost Ironhide, The Twins and Que
Unwillingly killed his former leader and teacher
Betrayed by the humans, losing more Autobots in the process
Lost one of his oldest friends, Ratchet
Joshua Joyce told that he wasn't needed to defend Earth anymore
Captured by Lockdown and was told his creators wanted him back
Quintessa told that he caused Cybertron destruction
Quintessa brainwashed him, turning him into Nemesis Prime
Quintessa told that the planet he was defending was actually Unicron
Sure, he's done some violent things, but calling him "psycho-murderer" is a big stretch too far.
Agreed, no clue why they tried combining Bay Prime’s face with Bumblebee’s, just looks really off putting to me
Look up “rescue bots academy Optimus”
@@kevinp.h157oh no.....pls dont...I beg of u 😢🙏
Honestly the design in rise of the beast isn't that bad and I actually really like it and tbh most the designs bayverse weren't all that good neither a lot of them where really bad hell most of the decepticons where a bunch of generics and some where reused designs not mention some of the good designs in bayverse is wasted and just used as cannon fodder for prime and bumblebee to gun down
Well, the rotb optimus isn't that bad, but they should have kept the bumblebee design
They made Optimus in this new series from just a generic leader to a burdened brother so just stop complaining about it
People forget that they modeled prime's face after peter cullen himself
They could've done better cuz I thought that the CGI was broken or something, could've made it more obvious with more defining features that remind us of cullen
Wait really?
So was the mouth in the Bayverse and guess what, it doesn't matter if its modeled after Cullen because its still bad.

It's funny that Cybertron Optimus did this better with his whole "don't interact with the locals" and learns that working with them helps the mission succeed, but here it was almost Animated Sentinal's disgust for organics level of disgust for humans.
my main issue was that they didnt make him more like tfp optimus, the optimus in transformers prime lost everything too, his people, his home and his close friend that now leads the decepticons, and was even forced to destroy a spacebridge, their one way of getting home to save humanity. but even then he tries to stay strong, because his team simply cant afford having their leader, who is their foundation, in a depressed state. he has to stay strong so others around him can feel. i understand why people do like his characters in the movie, especially if you haven't watched tfp, but i feel like he would've been better portrayed had they taken advantage of the fact that transformers prime optimus is literally the best example of optimus we've had in many years. and take inspiration from that
It's sad how this new Transformers LA universe started off good with Bumblebee and two movies in it's going downhill
I liked it (the music at the end from the bayverse solidified it)
I mostly didn't like how Optimus was suddenly able to beat scourge (ROTF was polite enough to give him a BS dragon ball power up lol)
I didn't like how Mirage's character made no sense (he can be repaired entirely from Earth metal, he can store multiple alt modes, he can mass shift into a garbage truck, he can become a suit of armor for humans? And he can make perfect holograms of himself??)
I also really didn't like the intro. Walking into "Transformers" at the theaters and then being met with "tell jokes, white people love that sh1t" and "What's with the suit you square? I just don't support capitalism"
It was just hella... weird.
The rest was fine though
The hologram thing is a g1 reference, but I agree with the rest.
"Unlike the bayverse where he savagely kills his enemies" So Does ROTB Optimus

They shouldn’t have done it, it was stupid and I didn’t want to watch the movie to see Peter Cullen in it basically deepfaking himself as Optimus Prime. This dude is complaining about how Optimus Prime is whining like a kid while not understanding that this is a younger version of Optimus Prime who has a lot to learn about being a leader, The movie was amazing; it had a few problems here and there but overall a great movie.
Bayverse Optimus always favorite
Bruh, the whole film was about Prime becoming the leader he needed to be 😅😅😅😅😅.
Never seen a more cry baby Optimus, heck even some of these G1 kids may make better Primes 🥲🥲
Isn't he's already a leader wdym?
Wasn't he already that in Bumblebee? This Prime feels like a completely different character from the one in Bumblebee.
At least Optimus felt like an actual character in ROTB then in the Michael bay movies

The problem is that in rotb its kinda half assed and like they dont wanna commit to it so they just make him go through an arc of being a better leader but not really cause hes already a leader at the same time
That deleted scene didn’t make sense for Optimus as a character and the story
Exactly, it's just a cool action scene, nothing more.
Wheres your movie?
It made optimus better
Agreed
no it didn't
I agree they should get the transit seen
I'm glad they removed Transit from the movie.
Earth was meant to be a safe haven from Decepticons, at least give us a movie or two without them (which I appreciate) and having even a single Decepticon be there ruins what Optimus said in Bumblebee, besides we could see Transit again and actually have a longer battle too. Not to mention how Optimus acted in the deleted scene was more like Bayformers Optimus when he was just murdering.

Bay Prime (both versions) is SUPERIOR
You can't 💩 on Prime.
This video is a you win some, you lose some situation. Bay Optimus has the strength (albeit brutal but you get the point) but lack character, while reboot Optimus has character but lack strength.
Another thing is that when Peter Cullen was in the studio they made him say a line that didn't sound like Optimus and it was clear he did not like it.
Can we also talk about how ROTB autobots and terrorcons look like Blender models. I swear I feel like they're being fully lit like they have a giant ring light infront of them. In Bayverse there's a lot of dark shading and little lighting to the transformers which makes it feel more realistic. ROTB I feel like some scenes don't have that realistic lighting and shading

@@WesCaptain480 Some people really care about they're home, and don't want to give up until all options are done. They weren't going to destroy earth, just use its resources
0:38 here you complain that they had too many factions, but later on you complain about the deleted scene with Transit, if they kept the scene then everyone would be even more confused cause now there would be Deceptions in it, and it could actually break the whole story of the movie since I imagine many would ask "if the Deceptions already know that Optimus and the others are taking refuge on Earth then why don't they send ALL of their army to kill them?" since they would also know they are probably outnumbered even more than before.
And the reason why Optimus acts the way he does in rise of the beast because it shows him as struggling leader even the director said that he wanted show a different side of Optimus prime and growing has leader much like animated Optimus prime.
I lov the bayvers

Thank you for sharing my thoughts
I can agree you, man as in mixed feelings for rise of the beast I till did enjoy the movie
None of the transformers movies are good but Rotb's story can at least be built on.
i love every optimus prime so idc if there bad or not i still love optimus prime
