intentionally, GuP works with wargaming, wargaming provides the popular tanks for the show and the movies, like the T28 and the maus so new viewers will be pointed to the game. is a win-win for both sides
@The Yangem you didn't get the joke and irony in my comment do you? And to tell you what, I have a lv100 account. No need to school me about the game modes, I've been playing since 2013.
American tanker courses teach drifting in an M1 Abrams too. I cant think of why that would be a useful skill for a tank; but theres no reason not to.... Except for possible track throwing. I dont even know how common of a problem that is.
Wabaanimkii it keeps your fontal armor to the enemy when turning a corner look up german tanker drifting in WW2 right before the allies over through the Germans
Retrofitted aircraft carrier? Those carriers are 10 times, or even 100 times bigger than any existing carriers. So big, an entire town is on top the deck.
While I would expect that ship to sit a little lower in the water than the image in video, nothing else about the design immediately makes me question her seaworthiness. That being said, her size could create some structural challenges for the designers, and she'd likely be a bit more susceptible to hogging and sagging. There are experts, with a bit more experience on these specific subjects, that could give a more definitive answer, but I see nothing that would deem this ship impossible. However, the design and production cost would be so prohibitively expensive that I see no way to justify the costs of a ship this large.
Without seeing the interior, it is hard to say for sure, but It would require an extremely large amount of weight to compromise the stability of a ship that size. If she was ballasted properly, it would take some rough seas to get her to roll a meaningful amount. I will admit she didn't appear to be ballasted properly in the video, but she's still far more believable than the average Hollywood car chase.I would be interested to know if you have any actual maritime experience in order to put this conversation in perspective.
My headcannon is that GuP is actually set in a nearly post-scarcity economy with a moderately high tech level. There are allusions to it in some of the safety features but it also explains some other things. How tank combat can be romanticized to the degree it is. (Like kendo, this usually happens after the weapon in question is obsolete on the battlefield) How such huge ships can be built. How repairs and replacement parts are so easy to come by, but they need to find tanks & bigger guns if they want to upgrade their team (rules, not fabrication difficulties are the limiting factor) The very little concern over property damage. The huge budget such a club would need otherwise. Everything they build up about highschool life in the setting is character-building anachronism rather than anything near the tech level the society is capable of. Considering how Japan likes to do this with various clubs and cultural festivals irl, it's not really a stretch at all.
***** In real world, yes they did lost all their WW2 CVs. But from what I read about GuP, it seem like it's a different universe. Correct me if I'm wrong.
***** There ar literally zero evidence russian armies were there. We have videos of a meteor from about 15 people, and had only 10 seconds to film it...but we dont have any videos of russian armies in ukraine while they are saying they were there for 3 months...Ukraine is litteraly is ruled by nazis
The tanks make lots of maneuvers that aren't realistic, but the drift is NOT one of them - you can drift a tank if you are really good at driving, and Mako is established as great....
There are reports of drivers drifting tanks during the Spanish Civil War. A lot of the tanks of the 30s would have been ideal for this, as they were light, fast, and used clutch-break steering. Combine that with a hard and smooth surface (both of Mako's major drifts happen on tarmac/concrete) and you can make a tank skid/drift. Is it easy? No. Is it *possible*? Hell yes.
Sure, there's drifting, then there's that Deus Ex Machina bullshit we saw int he show. In short, tank drifting is merely speeding the tank, then performing a hard turn, so the tank will slide in the direction it was going, but having it's frontal armor facing the direction of the engagement as to not expose a weak spot. Yes, WWII tanks were capable of doing this, but it was more of a work of inspiration, and was not always reliable. What we saw in the show was a full blown crescent spin that not tank has any capability to perform. A tank has no way to change it's momentum like that without some part of it providing actual traction and a counter force, of which a vehicle with only two sets of treds, is impossible.
+Neurofied Yamato In my case the most shocking thing in the series was when the tank was sinking and she was jumping from tank to tank to save it, she literally made like 5 world records with each jump ^_^
+Cristea Andrei Ionel Well, yeah true, was more surprised with the Tiger's traverse, although the final traverse was alright. Also, Pz4 drifting, while still unbelievable, is actually possible for a short distance. Tracks are actually rather slippery on concrete, unless it's an MBT, and those 50t of tank can press the tracks' teeth into the concrete.
L Ys That's why no one complained about the tankettes having a slight drift in the OVA. But the complete clock-handle side-ways drift turning is impossible, in fact for most cars, that's not possible. Quite literally that's what we have sports or race car and the likes for
+Neurofied Yamato yeah true, it was the only part i didnt like abt that battle. I expected it to stop long before. But its really cool that they showcased the Tiger's 40kph mobility.
XD I’m a whole year late but uh.... those tanks wouldn’t be able to shoot into that tank. A Maus has a thickness of 200mm while most of those cannons can only shoot through 75mm
My friend asks me "have you watched that anime with tanks in it? I say" no, it looks like another Moe slice of life anime with a bunch of girls. He says " Yeah it is, but it has freaking tanks. Point being, a lot can be forgiven when a show has tanks in it.
Well, yeah, I wasn't into anime, and GuP is the first anime I really watched. Why? Because tanks. It sounded awesome, so I watched. Then I found it so stupid, yet glorious and entertaining af, I wanted to watch other animes, which I did and I don't regret it. Also, before GuP, I was like "meh, WW2, tanks...sounds interesting, but nothing more", and now I love to learn about those. Basically, GuP launched me into WW2, tanks and anime. Thanks, GuP.
@@trapshogun2634 You can definitely drift an MBT. WW2 tanks... technically you can, especially in snow, but it's not easy and there's not much of a benefit to it.
Same, an anime with freaking TANKS needs to be watched. The voice acting was cool too like the russian. But I wonder what happened to the boys I mean it would be cool if it is like ww1 or ww2
Was about to decide to not watch the show but right before I clicked off the video you started explaining how each enemy team was one big stereotype and for some reason I found that downright hilarious; guess I have to watch this show now.
Actually, it IS possible to drift a tank in the right conditions: a medium or light tank, on asphalt/concrete (preferably wet), and after enough speed is built up and then turning sharply and throwing the brake on is TECHNICALLY a thing you could do and as Miho said in the end it would bust your track. But you can do it.
+Tim Liefer Because many people would not know how to pronounce it, butcher it the first few times, and then proceed to give up (yes, even if there's someone nearby who can pronounce it for them as reference). It seems like people just take a look at German words and decide that they look like rather painful tongue-twisters that should not be spoken aloud for their vocal chords' sake...
The logic behind the "girls not being dead after their tank was shot by another tank" requires extra knowledge into the rules of Senshadō: 1. Tanks fire smart ammunition with micro-computers that can track how far the round penetrated the armor. 2. Directly firing at an opponent exposed outside of the tank is forbidden. 3. The smart ammo also has no gunpowder. Let's just assume all the muzzle flash from the tank guns are just really good effects. I mean, they did put microcomputers in tank rounds.
Have you watched the show and movie? For example, the part in the movie where the KV2 destroys two entire hotels with two shells? There is very definitely powder in those rounds. In fact, it's entirely consistent with a regular war load HE shell.
It should be noted that the other teams aren't actually British/American/Russian/German/Italian. They're all Japanese, but their schools have merely adapted a certain country's way of fighting.
I found it weird how American style is classified as cheating when a more accurate way to put it would be preemptive strikes and sabotage. as there are no rules in war.
Jack Pewitt They didn't really cheat, it didn't say in the rulebook that intercepting communication isn't allowed (then you could also claim that sneaking into the enemy team's school to spy on them and find out their tactic could be be considered cheating as well). Also the American's team captain made it clear that she wasn't happy with what her teammate was doing, and she only attacked Ooarai with an equal number of tanks despite having much more than them. So the American team was actually the fairest of the teams that Ooarai encountered.
Thine_Reaper True. From all of the recent animes one would get the impression that life in Japan starts and ends at school. It's almost getting to be a challenge to name an anime that doesn't revolve around a school...
Attack on Titan, Girls und Panzers, Log Horizon, Sword Art Online, ect... yes, yes there is anime that does NOT involve a school, but they are in the minority (less than 10% of all anime being made in recent history).
The problem with dubbing, at least here in the states, is that Voice over acting as a whole is looked down on and considered "child's stuff" by the film and tv live action crowd. Hell, when Disney's Beauty and the Beast got nominated for Best Picture, the director's and actor's of the other nominees got so butt hurt that the next year they came up with the Best Animated Film category.
This show had only 3 flaw's in my perspective..... 1: where is the Sturmtiger? 2: where is the M26 Pershing? 3: where in the name of Jingles is TOG!?!?!
The Sturmtiger is more of an artillery unit, also if it was allowed it would only be able to carry I believe 14 shells (maybe less) because of their sheer size and its rate of fire is terrible. As for the Pershing, I think it was made after the date allowed for tanks to qualify for the tournament. And finally the TOG is OP AF!
+Owain Moir medium tanks can also drift, as I said it depends on the weight. pz IV/pz IV H weighs 25.30 tons with 440 HP (Horse Power). weight ratio per ton
Russian speaker here. Their rendition of Katyusha is pronounces well enough, although delivered with a very thick Japanese accent. When I was in Russia, there was a Japanese woman in my Russian language courses, and she was far worse at pronouncing Russian than the seiyuu were. She also had great difficulty with just forming the words Russian is exceedingly difficult for Japanese speakers to learn. Why? 1. Russian has both L and R sounds. Ya rabotal v ponedelnik. 2. Russian has far more consonants than Japanese. Sch, Zh, r', y', l, kh, ye, plus all the various palatizations. 3. Russian has many more vowels than Japanese. A, E, I, O U, Ya, Ye, Y', Yo, Yu, 5. Russian palatizes a lot. Cem'ya=Family. Semya=Seed. 4. Russian has inconsistent stress while Japanese gives equal stress to all syllables. Stoit=Stands StOit=Costs 5. Russian is syllable time whereas Japanese is mora timed. Not sure how to depict this. 6. Russian allows consonant clusters Japanese prohibits. Svt, kbr, zhch, vshy... Japanese can have a maximum of two consecutive consonants. 7. Russian has a default SVO word order but Japanese has a default SOV word order. Eng: A man sees the child. Rus: Muzhschina vizhu rebyonok. Jap: Otoko ga kodomo o mita. 8. Russian and Japanese are completely unrelated linguistically. European vs Japonic (almost an isolate -- formerly classified thusly) 9. Russian has case grammar but Japanese functions by particle function words. Eng: I see the cat. Rus: Ya vizhu koshku..Jap: Ore ga neko o mito. 10. Russian isolates more than it agglutinates. English: I will not forgive. Rus: Ya ne proschu. Jap: Yusurenai.
+Mortablunt Just a thought, I wanna ask, how would I say "Death to Drug Dealers" in Russian? I wanna ask because I really like the SMERSH organization name, which was an accronym for "Death to Spies" (very direct name for a counter-intelligence agency)
After watching this anime, I now respect the Panzer 4 lineup (Pz. IV A, D, H and such). I thought that they are just shit tanks. Also a new-found hate against the KV lineup (KV 1, 1S, 2, etc.). Yes I play World of Tanks. War Thunder? I'll play it soon enough.
mryupjup Inertia basically. A Panzer IV (the tank our main cast drives) weighs about 25 tonnes, and has a max speed of ~26mph. That is a lot of momentum so making a sharp turn would easily cause a fair amount of drifting. The amount in the show? ... Yeah highly doubt it work out like that... Something just tells me a WWII tank wasn't designed to handle such maneuvers
The two characters (Hana and Miho) that are referenced in relation to character arcs not going anywhere. or nowhere good, are poor examples. In episode 10 Hana Isuzu enters a flower arranging competition and her mother, Yuri, who is also in attendance talks to Hana about her arrangement. Yuri points out that Hana's arrangement has a strength and individuality that was lacking from her earlier arrangements and credits Sensha-do for this growth. This ends with Yuri and Hana on good terms and Yuri accepting Hana's interest in Sensha-do, as well as her new style of flower arranging. MIho's arc is covered throughout the series and subsequent film, and even beyond. Miho, adored tanks and Sensha-do but as she got older the pressures associated with following the Nishizumi style caused her to resent Sensha-do and culminated in her decision to leave Kuromorimine for Ooarai, a school without Sensha-do. Maho (Miho's older sister) cares for her a great deal and was concerned over her growing resentment of Sensha-do. Maho's "antagonistic" attitude through the early battles is born out of a concern that Miho is setting herself up for heart ache by getting back into Sensha-do rather than any ill intent. This attitude gradually fades as Maho observes Miho in the matches against Saunders, Anzio, and Pravda. After the Pravda match Maho even speaks up for Miho after their mother, Shiho dismisses the Ooarai victory as a fault of Katyusha rather than Miho's ability to not be bogged down by style and to adapt to what ever her opponent throws at her. Miho's final line to Maho of "Sister. I've found it. I've found my tankery" confirms to Maho that Miho will be fine at Ooarai. Shiho has little interest in Miho's matches until Ooarai face off against Pravda. During the lull in combat while Ooarai are surrounded Shiho initially intends to leave early, believing that Ooarai have already lost, but she is persuaded to stay by Maho. Following Maho's reasoned argument following the Ooarai vs Pravda match Shiho begins to see Miho differently. Following the victory of Ooarai over Kuromorimine we see Shiho applauding the Ooarai and Miho's victory. In der Film, Shiho is very outspoken against Renta Tsuji (the MEXT official in charge of the school ships department) when he claims that Ooarai's victory was luck, with Shiho pointing out that "There is no luck in Sensha-do. There is only skill and ability." This stated opinion of Shiho's is a complete reversal of her opinion from the end of the Pravda match.
Bro went into character arcs deeper than 99.99% of the community. I just like the batshit insane action, and the odd amount of historical facts and accuracies in the show. In one episode, Yukari is just straight up humming "johnny is marching home again"
Back in the 80's my Army unit had a visiting British platoon attached to us. I was in my jeep with my officer and saw them cross the road flanking the "Enemy", 10 min. later they walked to the side of the road, sat down and brewed up. We walked over and asked them what they were doing during an attack and they told us it was Tea Time. Hey, stereotypes have to start somewhere. I find the attention to detail of the tanks quite good. Not just lip service either, seems like they had people who truly love WW II tanks, like good model builders.
Orcaman15 I asked an actual tank driver and he said that the bigger issue is throwing the tracks off and potentially flipping the tank if drifted on non-perfect ground. But then they were indeed doing it on concrete so maybe lol.
Orcaman15 Indeed lol. But considering how it looked like ruins I wouldn't be surprised if it's not actually as flat as it seems... But for the sake of the show we will just say that it's flat lol
The suspension of disbelief is heavy, but if you can beyond that and I think most anime fans are used to doing that to some degree it is an enjoyable one if watched sub. Just the premise is pretty heavy in disbelief. The idea that being part of a tank crew can be a ladylike endeavor on the level of horseback riding is pretty thick.
The Ammo thing actually is explained, but very briefly and it is easy to miss. Basically they are using a special type of shell and Armour with some sort of advanced sense perception and computing that doesn't allow the shells to penetrate the tanks but instead, when a shell hits the Armour, calculates what would have happened if the type of shell that the tank supposedly fired hit the Armour that the tank should have had. if the calculations find that the tank would have been disabled then a little white flag pops up from the tank showing that it is eliminated from the match.
Glass Reflection I salute you good sir, this is one of my favorite shows and I love it and in reality, yes tanks can drift just not nearly as much as in GuP. Tank drifting is more like a slight power slide than actual drifting. But I thank you for reviewing this show because I was so happy when I saw the video title and the thumbnail at the top of my subscriptions feed.
Fun tank fact: A tank (eg. a Panzer IV ausf. H) going 60km/h, which it could manage, being thrown into a sharp handbrake turn could intact drift. This is heightened by the fact the tank in question is using metal tracks on a hard surface such as asphalt.
The attention to detail is not limited to suspensions. All of the tanks are real and are very easily recognisable to most tank buffs and WoT/WT players. All of the interiors are true-to-life as are the crew seating positions, strengths, weaknesses etc., although pink M3 Lees may always have been somewhat of a rarity IRL. A _lot_ of effort has been put into the tanks themselves. Occasionally it's tempting to skip some talky-talk scenes, but overall it's a good watch.
A hollow voice says "Plugh". . I believe The Chieftan and possibly others from The Tank Museum participated in the design. I enjoyed the stuffing out of this anime.
They live ammunition safety problem is explained in the show. The crew compartments are coated with a special carbon alloy to prevent penetration, and there's a system in the hull that calculates the theoretical damage of each shot.
I love this anime so much. I had no idea there was a movie released this year. I had to watch it, and then this review for the third time. This anime mixes both Cute(Or shall you say, Moe) and awesomeness(with tanks. Tanks are awesome)
6 years later and it's ridiculous how tame the shoving in of moe into the anime spotlight was, compared to the fat Akira-esque tentacled monster that isekai has become on the medium.
Tank drifting is a real thing that could and was done. In tanks with a good enough Power to Weight ratio you can absolutely throw them into a controlled slide, supposedly it was even used in combat during the Spanish civil war. Granted, the particular scene in the anime has an obscenely long drift, but still, the concept is real.
I'm not sure if this has been said before... But as of the live ammunitions, it was explained that the tanks are specifically reinforced to ensure safety while using other techniques to determine whether the tanks should be out of fight or not. Poking heads out, according to our main character, is not that dangerous since it would be really rare to hit a commander... Not ure how realistic that is lol.
theworldsthreat Well it would still be hard to hit anything from the distance that tanks are supposed to engage at (which is certainly not wha they do in the show lol). Besides, a stationary MG seems to have some issue hitting individual people at range, let alone a one on a moving vehicle shooting at something else that is moving and being only like 10% the size of a normal human target... Personally I would buy that it's not as dangerous as what it might seems to be, but I do think that at least a few casualties should have occured if every single commander is to poke their heads out all the time... But then I think not all of them do, and for those who do they don't do it all the time either. In the episode against the Russian team, there was a scene where they laid MG fire, and I would imagine that it's exactly to discourage the commanders from poking their heads out, thus decreasing their view and combat efficiency. Just my opinions though :P
Zicheng Long The main threat to a commander poking their head out would be the shrapnel caused by a shell impacting on the tank. If a commander has their head out when their tank is hit, this is a very real chance that some of the shrapnel could kill them (especially if the turret is hit).
I burst out laughing when you mentioned watching Jaws and cheering for the shark, because when I first watched that film with my family when I was six, I declared emphatically to my parents that I DID want the shark to win--nay, moreso, I wanted to MARRY the shark. I was an odd child. And now I'm engaged to a man whose initials are J.A.W.S. Coincidence? I'm not sure anymore.
I think those aircraft carriers are a homage to project Habakuk from WW2. They were massive ships about 1,5 kilometers long. A difference though is that the real ships were supposed to be made out of ice. All the tanks are all authentic as far as I can see.
A note on riding around with your head out of the vehicle: Apparently in real life you have to throw a lot of fire at a tank before the crew actually buttons up since (especially since these are WW2 tanks) the Mark 1 Eyeball affords much better visibility than what is afforded inside the vehicle.
Besides the removal Katyusha, I thought the English version was pretty good. To be honest I see people consistently putting the Dubbed version down, and I don't really understand why. I even went to see the movie when it was in theaters last month, and it was also Dubbed and I still thought it was great.
Michael Alex Kawa i feel it's mostly to do with the difference in emotion for the lines. I've watch lots of anime both subbed and dubbed and for most cases it's the dub that can't portray that same emotion. See example 32-b Girls und Panzer abridged. Although it's a parody, the person voicing Miho sounds better than the actual VA because the emotion she could portray. What English VAs can't compete with Japanese VAs in cuteness (moe) can do with a better range of emotions
I think you should review kiseijuu (parasyte) and death parade when these animes end :) But definitely Death Parade. It's only february almost but currently I think it's the anime of the year ^^ It has everything I like. It's thought provoking, has interesting character, sexy visuals and it's kind of dark.
I wouldn't call it the anime of the year yet...definetely the anime of the season, but it's waaaaay too early to say anime of the year. For example, there'll be a show this year writte by the Code Geass Creator and produced by the Attack on Titan Studio...Who knows if that will turn out great? Anyway, let's just wait ^^
DIMusicA Don't forget it will be directed by Tetsurō Araki, ya know, the guy who also directed Death Note and Attack on Titan. I have such high expectations for that anime. Even the bloody title has me excited: "Knocking on the Walls of the Armored Fortress". Holy hell I am ecstatic.
Katyusha was a very popular song for the Russian soldiers in the war. They liked it so much they actually named their most exotic weapon after it. Most of us still remember the multiple rocket launchers as Katyusha's.
I literally found out about this anime less than 2 days ago and watched the entire thing in a day. Then suddenly, GR Reviews right on time. Preparing to watch! "22A - Tank Drifting" awww, what? I would have rather seen the Maus as literally everything that happened around it, including its ability to move at all was completely bs. Also, I came up with this weird idea that the reason they are on boats and there are so few men is because there was a WW3 where many of the men died and since we had just recently made nukes, they didn't destory the entire world but rather made a good percentage of land masses slightly unlivable which is why we have so many tank battlefields that are literally right on the coast and why these boats aren't only schools, but also entire cities. And, for some reason, this war put a huge emphasis on war itself which is why tankery is a big deal for women. And since you seem to review things I've been watching recently as has happened with your last 3 reviews, I feel like next is arpeggio of blue steel? plz?
TheArmnorn The Maus was so heavy it never really saw combat. It couldn't really climb hills especially since the turret was so heavy a slight incline would start to tip it on its back. This heavy turret is the only reason the Hetzer wedge made any sense despite the many other things that still go un-explained about that scene. They existed but were never used. Very similar to the Ratte.
Mischievous Roze Yeah the whole Hetzer thing and so on were pretty unrealistic and the Maus was a bit too fast. And the reason it never saw combat was because they only built 2 prototypes by the time the soviets overrun the facility where they developed the Maus. That and the whole not able to be transported or drive over bridges was kind of a big downside in a war.
Mischievous Roze I calculate by weight so the tank was 2/3 done xD so I count him. I think they only used it in the anime because every fan of tanks knows the Maus. And at least they showed it in the town on it's own not chasing after them in the hills or over the river...
As a world of tanks player, the tanks to me were very well-animated to the point that I can easily tell which tanks were represented just by remembering what they look like in WoT.
lawlerzwtf I am reminded of Fight Club. Except that the wierd single frame is actually just a derp face apperently. No idea why it's there or how it happend.
lawlerzwtf Yeah, I happened to saw it too. I really had to get that. i.imgur.com/pLMIpY6.jpg Glass Reflection I am Arkada's complete lack of derpy face.
you forgot the movies! they are plot central and one covers the Anzio battle the main episodes skip, you really dont get the true feel of the show without them
Yep you can drift a tank, well its more of a sideways controlled slide, takes a damn good driver that can control each track independently in perfect timing. also depends on the control style of the tank as it varies from a conventional steering wheel and pedals to twin joystick control and a lot of variations in between .ground surface is a big factor to. Damn Tankfest in Bovington was fun this year :)
Yeah, but in the documentaries I've seen, they called the Nazi tank forces "Panzer Divisions" so I thought the term was specifically referring to Nazis.
Son-Tchor I It stands for both. Panzer today mostly refers to tanks, but it is also means armour (though its an old term for it and most people don´t use it in that context anymore). I am always suprised that quite a lot of german words don´t get translated, even if there would be fitting english terms...
WHAT? THE TANKS MOVE REALISTICLY? AHAHH They are WAY too fast... The armor was also retarded.. a Stug III with the 75 mm L/48 didn't penetrate a Panzer IV Ausf F from behind... But the series is enjoyable
***** Have to say, they DO move realistically. Well, no, not entirely because them tanks that's used for senshadou is more or less modified one way or another.
***** You mean how a tank flips and tumbles over the snow thrice despite getting shot by a big meaty 122mm gun? No, they definitely don't. Ah who cares, I loved it for the tank fights anyway.
First off, "tanks" for all of your thoughtful reviews. I've found lots of good anime viewing through your channel. BUT...tanks >can< drift a little bit. In fact, in a way, tanks that can maneuver at all are almost always "drifting" to some miniscule degree. Because the treads of tanks are mostly straight, and their paths are often curved, there is often some part of a tank tread that is sliding somewhat sideways as it moves around a bend. But if that bit of reasoning isn't enough for you, there are videos here on UA-cam where you can see Swedish S-Tanks do 180s, and see Abrams and Russian T-90 tanks go a little sideways. (Granted, the degree to which they can do this in real life is probably very exaggerated in the anime.)
My friends, it has often been said that I like moe tank battles. My friends, I like moe tank battles. No, I love moe tank battles. I love moe blob gunners. I love moe blob drivers. I love it when a pellet gun tank shell hits a Russian tank and moe girls spill out like blood from a wound. I love it when moe girls dressed in school uniforms wash their tank like some kind of uncomfortable preteen fantasy. Gentleman, I love moe tank battles!
The first Anime I ever watched... and then proceeded to re-watch five times! At first I was so confused, seeing the same small town but no hills or backgrounds, while trying to keep up with reading the Subs and learn the characters names; which I still struggle with to this day!, and then that pull back shot from the Hanger and we see the vast School Ship, over 5km in length... and my mind goes: 'Yep, definitely watching anime!'
The exploding shell/lack of damage thing is explained in other materials. The shells have a black box in them and an explosive filler. When they hit the target the shells BB communicates with the BB within the tank which decides, based upon the angle and impact location, whether or not the tank is knocked out.
None of those tanks move realistically. Example the metilder is faster then a slow jogger. I'm not joking the tank was designs to travel at the same speed as marching infantry men.
In girls und panzer the matilda and most of the tanks can move at up to speeds of 40 kph unless its a super heavy tank cause those things move at 20 - 30 kph and some heavy tanks are at speed 40 while others don't have that much speed so i say its pretty balance in terms of speed, since its not interesting to watch half of an episode just them talking on the radios while moving large distances
I actually recomend the OVA because they do touch on some of the storylines AND a skipped battle- they jumped over teh battle against the italian themed school in the show, just showing them vitorious after the fact, the OVA actually shows the battle, its like an entire skipped episode. I also recomend the Movie- it just has more of everything, more of the underdog story but in a way that addresses the issues in some such stories and turns it around into making you cheer for them even though the premise is unrealistic, it uses the time before the big battle to show more character interactions, and builds up the final battle into a amzing height, all sorts of cool and ammusing strategies are used, amazing tank combat, and some jsut silly moments that blend well with the action. Just go watch it
13:10 THEY DID explain .... the tanks are filled inside with a hardened material that protects them from tank shots. But... I agrees that once you are out of the tank you are in danger of not just tank shots but also shrapnel
Lord Zephyros didnt they also said the rounds are like made out of flour or something(basically smoke rounds that doesnt cause Line of sight) unless that was during practice before the tournament happens.
Lord Zephyros dont plan to re watch the show any time soon, unless I get a Blu ray player and have money for the BD, but I will give you a line if I see it and remember
I have a love-hate relationship with GuP. While I love my tanks and the storyline and character development was pretty nice, the unrealism made me really butthurt. Also, the general stupidity of the Ooarii team also makes me butthurt. In the final episode (If I remember correctly) it was either a Tiger or Pershing just tanking hundreds of shots while the main character fights her sister, against other Tigers and Pershings. The StuG's battle standards also made me angry, I mean, you want to look cool, draw shit on your tank, but don't put extra shit that'll make your tank a lot more obvious. Also, I vaguely remember that the British team who bear Ooarii promised to a rematch, but they never actually had a rematch. The Churchill in the beginning of the series also moved far faster than it should have, in fact, all the tanks seemed to move too fast. Take note, I haven't seen GuP in a while so I can't give accurate details.
I keep seeing shit for this show and I decided to lok it up. Judging from what I've seen so far the Matilda II's and Churchill's are going ludicrous speed compared to reality.
While i understand your butt hurt feelings regarding reality, actually the tank who got hit hundreds of time is the Porsche Tiger and the other side only used German Tanks. As for the battle standards, it was their first match and they just wanna have fun. If not the main character will not have fall back in love with tankery again. As for the rematch, it did happen in Girls und Panzer Der Film, but that is even more unrealistic so you will get more butt hurt. XD
The movie is unrealistic, but at least, Finland stronk. =D (Säkkijärven polkka intensifies) More seriously, the physics is just dumb in this anime. Nobody commenting on Miho jumping in a perfect horizontal line instead of a parabola? Am I the only one who gets bugged about it? XD But the real explaination for dumb physics is here: Anime. You just have to accept it, and from there, it's a really entertaining show.
The main thing this anime focuses on is the battles the history and history references this anime is a gold mine for history references it’s not about characters or any of that stuff it’s simply history made in anime
i am was worried on this review because i am huge fan of Girls und Panzer, maybe you think that tanks not can drifting than i shall recordment it to watch some youtube videos where they did drifting the tanks. most videos are mondern tanks but you shall well stunned it. i am agreed on the episode of pravda school don't singing because it is wonderfull to hear it. that was really bumber if you have orginal DVD there are episodes 5.5. and episode 10.5 does explain the characters more and also explain about the ammunition types rounds they using in the match. i did little back ground research and japan using that game tag ammunition for tank school drills. but not same thing like animes. beside tank drifting in ending of the show...that was more awesome to watch than you think? i am glad you give good review stamp on this video and i wanna ask you recordment to read the manga, it explain more of the school and characters and also you read that Yukari more main character is than Miho ;)
lordsjaak It was said before that while it is possible for a tank to perform a drift, it isn't a very long drift, bad for the suspension/hydraulics and next to impossible to: - do so in an old Panzer IV - perform a drift that long - rotate the turret at that speed at the end they apparently said something about their suspension being ruined form the drifting which is pretty realistic, since trying to drift a Panzer IV at all would just fuckin ruin the suspension
I love how potential history watched the dub of this and reviewed it, *and then complained about katyusha being sung in English* and on top of all this when he addressed people telling him to watch the sub *he refused and kept shitting on the anime for dub*
Panzer Korps Or the bright gold 38. Nothing more camouflaged than a huge, reflecting, golden piece of metal with a loud engine. You'll see the reflection from miles away.
Actually the SAS uses pink as a desert camo as it's very effective at dawn or dusk in a sandy environment and the M3 Lee was primarily used by the Americans and British in the north Africa campaign so I sort of makes sense
@@subjectsigma1317 Yeah, I can see the sense in it camouflage wise, but nonetheless there isn't a tactical purpose to paint a M3 Lee pink on an flying aircraft carrier that mostly consists of urban and forest environments. I'll just chalk it up to anime logic.
The thing that bothers me most is the fact that fucking little 12-year-old girls are riding in tanks while firing LIVE AMMUNITION at other 12-year-old's and the school is fine with it because plot. Also not to mention, they say that the insides of the tanks are coated with carbon, hey carbon, can you stop a HEAT shell? I'm pretty sure if someone showed up to the party with one of those then there would be a pretty high death toll. Plus, not to mention the immortal characters which can survive crashes and being jostled around within their tanks, however men could probably be knocked unconscious just by slamming into a wall. And yet somehow the characters survive being fucking flipped and yet miraculously not breaking their fucking spines.
Well why the fuck would they make them look like real ammunition? Also, those are some pretty big-ass chalk rounds. The largest that I can find them is 40mm.
+Rusty Shackleforde really that is what are most wondering about not the giant aircraft carriers with a city on top of them not the fact that they let 16 year old girls drive tanks and not how medium tanks can drift
I watched this, and it was honestly surprisingly good. I never though girls in tanks could create a good show. What was disappointing to me was that it seemed to care little for the actual statistics of the tanks. A good example of his is from my favourite episodes, the battle against the brits: a Matilda II would never have been able to travel anywhere near as fast as they do in they were notorious for being slow as hell due to their complicated and badly designed engine system. To be honest, they probably wouldn’t even be able to keep up with the Churchill they were in formation with. Speaking of that, the Churchill, despite being a primitive beast with an underpowered gun and being designed around ancient design ideas, became a favourite in the deserts it was deployed too due to its almost supernatural hill climbing abilities. Basically, what I’m saying is it would’ve been cool to utilise the unique features more, e.g. the Churchill reaching high-ground that no other tank could access due to its abilities, and the Matilda II’s slow speed being used as a weakness by the protagonists, but its heavy armour causing them trouble. The anime seemed like it brushed over it, and aside from the StuG III not having a turret and the heavy tanks being slower to reload I never really noticed it caring about the tanks’ features at all. I’m still glad it didn’t try to be way too realistic with it’s tanks though, that would’ve been awful. It’s just a little more variation I would’ve liked.
Hold up...what? Ok I get that they would make the American team loud and admittedly, yes obnoxious, But Why the hell is the American team cheaters? C'Mon you made every country with a positive-ish quirk but the americans? Hell, you even made Germany look better too? Did you not know of the concentration camps in WW2 Japan?(note:I know not all of Germany were ok with the camps but most were manipulated by Hitler to think it was ok.) America is many things yes, but cheater is not one of them.
mergele1000 Well that makes it A little better, I suppose, So arkada, As good as he is at reviews, sorta needs to work on his wording 'cause i was gonna get worked up, but i suppose that was just him trying not to spoil anything.
Ghostbl33d Yeah the cheater acted more or less alone, and if you watch that episode the way the main characters found out they were cheating and use it against them is pretty cool. So no it doesn't portray Americans as assholes or anything like that.
this anime promotes world of tanks and warthunder unintentionally
intentionally, GuP works with wargaming, wargaming provides the popular tanks for the show and the movies, like the T28 and the maus so new viewers will be pointed to the game. is a win-win for both sides
Gokky Legend world of tanks yeah true but, War Thunder? dude you can't compare arcade game with simulator >:(

Just thought I'd mention.... Tanks CAN drift.
Source material: Russian Tank Olympics. It's a real thing.
American tanker courses teach drifting in an M1 Abrams too. I cant think of why that would be a useful skill for a tank; but theres no reason not to.... Except for possible track throwing. I dont even know how common of a problem that is.
ARE. YOU. FUCKING.KIDDING. ME.
It's real! There are videos of Russian solders driving tanks at ridiculous speeds, then to start drifting around corners, sometimes even flipping!

Wabaanimkii it keeps your fontal armor to the enemy when turning a corner look up german tanker drifting in WW2 right before the allies over through the Germans
Retrofitted aircraft carrier?
Those carriers are 10 times, or even 100 times bigger than any existing carriers. So big, an entire town is on top the deck.
something that big can float, but I don't know how the hell they managed to construct and launch such a ship
(Like kendo, this usually happens after the weapon in question is obsolete on the battlefield)
How such huge ships can be built.
How repairs and replacement parts are so easy to come by, but they need to find tanks & bigger guns if they want to upgrade their team (rules, not fabrication difficulties are the limiting factor)
The very little concern over property damage.
The huge budget such a club would need otherwise.
Everything they build up about highschool life in the setting is character-building anachronism rather than anything near the tech level the society is capable of. Considering how Japan likes to do this with various clubs and cultural festivals irl, it's not really a stretch at all.
*****
In real world, yes they did lost all their WW2 CVs.
But from what I read about GuP, it seem like it's a different universe. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The tanks make lots of maneuvers that aren't realistic, but the drift is NOT one of them - you can drift a tank if you are really good at driving, and Mako is established as great....
A modern day MBT maybe... not an ww2 era tank
A tank has no way to change it's momentum like that without some part of it providing actual traction and a counter force, of which a vehicle with only two sets of treds, is impossible.

in the tank drifting scene the drifting PZ IV was not the most shocking thing, the most shocking thing was the turret rotation on that Tiger :))))
+Cristea Andrei Ionel I can't stop laughing at taht comment because how true it was.
There's that scene when they take on a Maus in a most spectacular fashion, and wins.
That scene alone makes this show worth watching imo.
And he suspension of disbelief there is on the hetzer's suspension being able to escape the maus's fat arse.
+Truestm well, Hetzers gonna Hetz
XD I’m a whole year late but uh.... those tanks wouldn’t be able to shoot into that tank. A Maus has a thickness of 200mm while most of those cannons can only shoot through 75mm

Tank cannot drift
@@trapshogun2634 You can definitely drift an MBT. WW2 tanks... technically you can, especially in snow, but it's not easy and there's not much of a benefit to it.

Zachary Harwell bitch I've drifted Tiger 131.
And as far as I remember that scene the Panzer IVs track was broken after it drifted/while it drifted.
sounds like the automotive club conversation.

Why the hell do they call it "Girls und Panzer" and not "Mädchen und Panzer"?
+Tim Liefer
Because it sounds less plain to mix languages.
+Tim Liefer Because it seems that they don't want to respect the German language.
+Tim Liefer Most probably because when Madchen und Panzer is spoken in Japanese its too complicated and hard to pronounce.

And with more TANK DRIFTING :D
FINLAND STRONK!
More like Tanks goes Airborne
So damn true
The logic behind the "girls not being dead after their tank was shot by another tank" requires extra knowledge into the rules of Senshadō:
And the tanks have like carbon surrounding the interior.
Well when loaded the shells do have gunpowder but said gunpowder is used to launch the shell
They flex sealed that plot hole by flex sealing the inside of the tanks.
The fighting compartments are also reinforced. Open-top tanks are also forbidden
And apparently their stereotypes too.
Dylan Sarabia
Hey, if you do something, you better do it all the way.
Haha, I can understand that. Some of the portrayals might be a little offensive to some people though but I'm sure it's just for the sake of humor.
I found it weird how American style is classified as cheating when a more accurate way to put it would be preemptive strikes and sabotage. as there are no rules in war.
Jack Pewitt
They didn't really cheat, it didn't say in the rulebook that intercepting communication isn't allowed (then you could also claim that sneaking into the enemy team's school to spy on them and find out their tactic could be be considered cheating as well). Also the American's team captain made it clear that she wasn't happy with what her teammate was doing, and she only attacked Ooarai with an equal number of tanks despite having much more than them. So the American team was actually the fairest of the teams that Ooarai encountered.
It's a school...
It's always a school

Kirk Maximus
Samurai champloo! THERE 3sec and i did it.
Attack on Titan, Girls und Panzers, Log Horizon, Sword Art Online, ect... yes, yes there is anime that does NOT involve a school, but they are in the minority (less than 10% of all anime being made in recent history).
I know. I just wanted to be the first to take and winn the challenge. ^^

Surprised he didn't mention the insanely detailed models for the Tanks. Everything is there and functions!
+Xados - I have a good news.
Pershing and sturmtiger (not but that only come up in conversation) were appeared on Girls und panzer der film.
+Xados - hahaha, lol jingles of TOG
+Xados - If the ooarai girls found a couple o' togs lying around they would of.. well.. the outcome is to violent to mention. (Jingles would be proud)
Nah, TOG would have to be in Girls Und (German word for boats).

yup it's proven that tanks can drift, also depends on the tanks weight.
yes but only fast light tanks, like the BT5/7 with improved engines, not like the Panzer IV

A, E, I, O U, Ya, Ye, Y', Yo, Yu,
5. Russian palatizes a lot. Cem'ya=Family. Semya=Seed.
4. Russian has inconsistent stress while Japanese gives equal stress to all syllables. Stoit=Stands StOit=Costs
European vs Japonic (almost an isolate -- formerly classified thusly)
Can you do a comparison between English and Russian or English and Japanses?
+ Mc Karl I was comparing Rus vs Jap.

Yes yes not with Pz. IV H, but with light tanks for example M22 it can be a valid tactic.

drifting tanks are actually pretty realistic.. just sayin

mryupjup
Inertia basically.
Sypran to be fair, the suspension of their tank got completely obliterated after that godly drift :D
Altairogue True, I would imagine more than that would break though :P
Regardless I enjoyed the show :D
Drifting yes, but a full circle drift with that much mass? Probably a stretch.
Yeah, the stereotypes were all real, and none of them were mean spirited.
T-tank drifting? Why is that not a thing? I want it to be a thing.
Only if you're alright with tearing the treads off your ride and shredding the suspention.
Orcaman15 I asked an actual tank driver and he said that the bigger issue is throwing the tracks off and potentially flipping the tank if drifted on non-perfect ground. But then they were indeed doing it on concrete so maybe lol.
Zicheng Long Very FLAT concrete at that.
Orcaman15 Indeed lol. But considering how it looked like ruins I wouldn't be surprised if it's not actually as flat as it seems... But for the sake of the show we will just say that it's flat lol
Zicheng Long Well considering that its a tank testing grounds, perhaps its not as old as it seems. Who knows?
The suspension of disbelief is heavy, but if you can beyond that and I think most anime fans are used to doing that to some degree it is an enjoyable one if watched sub. Just the premise is pretty heavy in disbelief. The idea that being part of a tank crew can be a ladylike endeavor on the level of horseback riding is pretty thick.
Well this is the same universe that has schools on FUCKING GIANT AIRCRAFT CARRIERS...
About the only disbelief for me was the thirtyeight T surviving a shot from the js2, moreso than the drifting.
+Truestm You mean, IS-2... his name is Iosef Stalin and the tanks were named after him. I actually believe he told them to name it after him.
Sebastian Michaelis
you are correct, its actually different depending on translation. both IS and JS are correct, but IS is more widely accepted.
Yeah, it's not a series meant to be taken too seriously.
TANK DRIFTING!!!
If you like that play War Thunder Arcade Ground Forces. Drifting is basically happening on it's own there,
TheArmnorn TANK DRIFTING!!!
-EUROBEAT INTENSIFIES-
Shut up fucking weeaboo.
Matsakos TANK DRIFTING!!!
Evan Graham you need to watch this and be proud.
yes finally more voices out there introducing people into this glorious anime
Noonecanknow Miner just watch this for me, now you'll see why I like GuP
Fun tank fact:
A tank (eg. a Panzer IV ausf.
And it totally hasn't stopped here either. Now we have Highschool Fleet.
(Listening to Pravda ride to battle to Tetris isn't too bad though)
They live ammunition safety problem is explained in the show. The crew compartments are coated with a special carbon alloy to prevent penetration, and there's a system in the hull that calculates the theoretical damage of each shot.
13:10 they explained that in the first episode. the crew compartments are lined with a carbon hull thing, to keep crew and ammo safe.
I can say being a history buff the tanks are actually accurate in design also all the music in the battles are old military marching songs
I love this anime so much. I had no idea there was a movie released this year. I had to watch it, and then this review for the third time. This anime mixes both Cute(Or shall you say, Moe) and awesomeness(with tanks. Tanks are awesome)
SonicChaocc oh yeah? cute...have you seen what APFSDS and HEAT rounds does to a human inside of tanks?
Where can you watch girls und panzer
SonicChaocc yeah it haves loads of ovas and 2 movies
Girls und panzer der film
Girls und panzer das finale
actually, das finale is a sequel series still in the making, the second episode is still in the making and there are going to be 6 of them
@@tsgaerospace
So, we're gonna have second seasons after das finale
Potential History said it well enough, a tank show for tank enthusiasts but anime.
Let's take the easy 8 Sherman. If a pz.4's commander would have poked his/her head out, the easy 8 has a .30 cal and well do I have to say anymore?
theworldsthreat Well it would still be hard to hit anything from the distance that tanks are supposed to engage at (which is certainly not wha they do in the show lol).
Zicheng Long They also are shooting the mg at the tank to rush enemy tank commanders and to distract them
theworldsthreat I guess that too.
I guess this proves that you can pick up chicks in a tank
Why are you here?
Saw the Katyusha video, saw you had this reviewed, I'm watching this once I'm done with stuff I'm currently watching.
A note on riding around with your head out of the vehicle: Apparently in real life you have to throw a lot of fire at a tank before the crew actually buttons up since (especially since these are WW2 tanks) the Mark 1 Eyeball affords much better visibility than what is afforded inside the vehicle.
Yeah, head out is standard in nearly all situations in real wars.
Some people just irrationally hate dubs.
I think you should review kiseijuu (parasyte) and death parade when these animes end :)
But definitely Death Parade.
DIMusicA
Yeah there's a lot of anime to come, surely there will be worthy contestors :D

And since you seem to review things I've been watching recently as has happened with your last 3 reviews, I feel like next is arpeggio of blue steel? plz?
Why was the Maus moving bs? You know two of those existed right and they plan to rebuild the one that remains in russia?
TheArmnorn 1* The other one was never finished. They had the hull down but thats honestly not even half the tank.
Mischievous Roze I calculate by weight so the tank was 2/3 done xD so I count him. I think they only used it in the anime because every fan of tanks knows the Maus. And at least they showed it in the town on it's own not chasing after them in the hills or over the river...
Weapons and women, what more can a men ask.
As a world of tanks player, the tanks to me were very well-animated to the point that I can easily tell which tanks were represented just by remembering what they look like in WoT.
Anybody else see that weird single frame come up between 10:55 and 11:00? Happens at around 10:57
lawlerzwtf I am reminded of Fight Club. Except that the wierd single frame is actually just a derp face apperently. No idea why it's there or how it happend.
lawlerzwtf Yeah, I happened to saw it too. I really had to get that.
i.imgur.com/pLMIpY6.jpg
Glass Reflection I am Arkada's complete lack of derpy face.
Glass Reflection could review shaman king next?
John Smith lol john smith pls. go be the man that will change haruhi's world.
Glass Reflection I honestly didn't think you would review this show. I thought you'd review something like Death Parade or Rail Wars
you forgot the movies! they are plot central and one covers the Anzio battle the main episodes skip, you really dont get the true feel of the show without them
Suspension of disbelief explained.
They put your disbelief inside the tanks. Because suspension.
The historical reverences are probably the best thing about the show. "Potential History" made some good videos about it.
Wait, you said "metal bawkses"...
Is that a reference?
OUR ENEMIES HIDE IN METAL BAWKSES?!
To be honest, I saw the word "Panzer" in the title, and I thought the show was going to be a bunch of Nazi girls in tanks.
Yeah, but in the documentaries I've seen, they called the Nazi tank forces "Panzer Divisions" so I thought the term was specifically referring to Nazis.
austin crowder Please, German speaking people, correct me, but I think it means "armored", like the "Panzer Kunst" used in Gunnm.
Jan Wiebach ¿ And what's your opinion on the use of en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_umlaut ? :-þ
Son-Tchor I
It stands for both. Panzer today mostly refers to tanks, but it is also means armour (though its an old term for it and most people don´t use it in that context anymore).
I am always suprised that quite a lot of german words don´t get translated, even if there would be fitting english terms...
Panzer= tank
Source: American but has German lineage, knows German
WHAT? THE TANKS MOVE REALISTICLY? AHAHH They are WAY too fast... The armor was also retarded.. a Stug III with the 75 mm L/48 didn't penetrate a Panzer IV Ausf F from behind... But the series is enjoyable
*****
Tanks aren't THAT slow, but yeah, they do seem a bit fast in the show.
Tanks really are pretty slow.
***** Have to say, they DO move realistically. Well, no, not entirely because them tanks that's used for senshadou is more or less modified one way or another.
They don't...
***** You mean how a tank flips and tumbles over the snow thrice despite getting shot by a big meaty 122mm gun? No, they definitely don't.
Ah who cares, I loved it for the tank fights anyway.
the fact that he has "Panzerlied" playing in the the backround during the intro is enough to leave a like.
And this "field artillery" next too
Mädchen und Panzer*
PS: if you watch the rest of the show, the conflicts get resolved in OVAs and the Movie.
...wat? When? Where? How?
Forget the haters, i likes this one as well.
I have watched 8:08 about 20 times now, actually dying
My friends, it has often been said that I like moe tank battles. My friends, I like moe tank battles. No, I love moe tank battles. I love moe blob gunners. I love moe blob drivers. I love it when a pellet gun tank shell hits a Russian tank and moe girls spill out like blood from a wound. I love it when moe girls dressed in school uniforms wash their tank like some kind of uncomfortable preteen fantasy. Gentleman, I love moe tank battles!
Hellsing Ultimate reference.
A bad (no offense) parody of the Major's famous "I love war" speech.
Tank drifting IS fan service for some of us.
So you've been wearing a St. Gloriana uniform this whole time! I just hope you have pants on.
Could be a cute little dress, LMAO.
The exploding shell/lack of damage thing is explained in other materials. The shells have a black box in them and an explosive filler. When they hit the target the shells BB communicates with the BB within the tank which decides, based upon the angle and impact location, whether or not the tank is knocked out.
But... but... Bitches LOVE Cannons
None of those tanks move realistically. Example the metilder is faster then a slow jogger. I'm not joking the tank was designs to travel at the same speed as marching infantry men.
"Melider"? You mean the Matilda? The Matilda II had a top speed close to 22 km/h.
Just go watch it
I LOVE world of tanks and I LOVE this anime.
.
if you like tanks and cute girls WATCH IT!!!!!!!!
***** I dont remember that part, if you find out let me know :)
Lord Zephyros dont plan to re watch the show any time soon, unless I get a Blu ray player and have money for the BD, but I will give you a line if I see it and remember
World of tanks can make your life more stressful
Wabaanimkii this is what we call anime
While i understand your butt hurt feelings regarding reality, actually the tank who got hit hundreds of time is the Porsche Tiger and the other side only used German Tanks. As for the battle standards, it was their first match and they just wanna have fun. If not the main character will not have fall back in love with tankery again.
As for the rematch, it did happen in Girls und Panzer Der Film, but that is even more unrealistic so you will get more butt hurt. XD
St- Gloriana kinda had a rematch with Ooarii in the movie
The movie is unrealistic, but at least, Finland stronk. =D (Säkkijärven polkka intensifies)
More seriously, the physics is just dumb in this anime. Nobody commenting on Miho jumping in a perfect horizontal line instead of a parabola? Am I the only one who gets bugged about it? XD
But the real explaination for dumb physics is here:
Anime.
You just have to accept it, and from there, it's a really entertaining show.
The main thing this anime focuses on is the battles the history and history references this anime is a gold mine for history references it’s not about characters or any of that stuff it’s simply history made in anime
i am was worried on this review because i am huge fan of Girls und Panzer, maybe you think that tanks not can drifting than i shall recordment it to watch some youtube videos where they did drifting the tanks. most videos are mondern tanks but you shall well stunned it.
i am agreed on the episode of pravda school don't singing because it is wonderfull to hear it. that was really bumber
if you have orginal DVD there are episodes 5.5. and episode 10.5 does explain the characters more and also explain about the ammunition types rounds they using in the match. i did little back ground research and japan using that game tag ammunition for tank school drills. but not same thing like animes.
beside tank drifting in ending of the show...that was more awesome to watch than you think?
i am glad you give good review stamp on this video and i wanna ask you recordment to read the manga, it explain more of the school and characters and also you read that Yukari more main character is than Miho ;)
Ik kom je ook overal tegen :)
altijd weet je toch ;)
lordsjaak It was said before that while it is possible for a tank to perform a drift, it isn't a very long drift, bad for the suspension/hydraulics and next to impossible to:
- do so in an old Panzer IV
- perform a drift that long
- rotate the turret at that speed
at the end they apparently said something about their suspension being ruined form the drifting which is pretty realistic, since trying to drift a Panzer IV at all would just fuckin ruin the suspension
than give you me old panzer IV and those are rare than sherman tank and i shall do it :)
anyone know the music play in the "tank drifting" scene, gotta buy the anime just because of that
I love how potential history watched the dub of this and reviewed it, *and then complained about katyusha being sung in English* and on top of all this when he addressed people telling him to watch the sub
*he refused and kept shitting on the anime for dub*
Who paints an M3 Lee PINK!!!!
Panzer Korps Or the bright gold 38. Nothing more camouflaged than a huge, reflecting, golden piece of metal with a loud engine. You'll see the reflection from miles away.
Six high school freshmen girls.
B- *cough* some people love cannons.
I cracked up at the part of the tank drifting that has included the song Riding in the 90s. Nice video btw.
i love yuru yuri
same
same
what about the order of rabbit
And yet somehow the characters survive being fucking flipped and yet miraculously not breaking their fucking spines.
you would be right if they were 12 and if the amunition was acualy live
they explain it in the anime i think
Live ammunition is ammunition where actual projectiles are fired from the shell. I'd be damned if the damage caused to those tanks were from blanks.
+Rusty Shackleforde no i think they were chalk rounds that aperently explode
but anime logics what u gonna do
Well why the fuck would they make them look like real ammunition? Also, those are some pretty big-ass chalk rounds. The largest that I can find them is 40mm.
+Rusty Shackleforde really that is what are most wondering about
not the giant aircraft carriers with a city on top of them not the fact that they let 16 year old girls drive tanks and not how medium tanks can drift
The tanks are permitted to have modern modifications to their engines, particularly electrical motors.
Maybe that cheater thing should mean something different?
Only one of the american characters is cheating, and the american captain is pretty pissed about her doing so.
The American team captain scorns her teammate for cheating at the end when she found out
mergele1000 Well that makes it A little better, I suppose, So arkada, As good as he is at reviews, sorta needs to work on his wording 'cause i was gonna get worked up, but i suppose that was just him trying not to spoil anything.
Ghostbl33d Yeah the cheater acted more or less alone, and if you watch that episode the way the main characters found out they were cheating and use it against them is pretty cool. So no it doesn't portray Americans as assholes or anything like that.
