    No question the RMAX is a game changer. I test drove this XTR two seater a few weeks back, and I was blown away. Very, very comfortable and capable. Yamaha has set a new standard in the industry no doubt. This unit will for sure blur the line between pure sport and sport utility.

    Man I can't wait to see you guys test this. It looks like Yamaha hit one out of the park, especially comparing it to the General. Awesome looking, Yamaha quality and reliability plus the best belt drive in the game. With a growing family, Im thinking of selling the Grizzly and getting a SXS, just wasn't sure what one I wanted, I test drove the Wolverine rspec (video on my channel) and although it was a great trail machine, I found the 850 to be a bit lack luster in the power department. Thanks for all the great videos DT !

    Working in the powersports industry since 1984 Yamaha has always leaned more towards the dependability side and was very conservative on the high performance side.
    Yamaha was very nervous fighting the Rhino roll over lawsuits a decade ago and some executives claimed Yamaha was considering ending their Side x Side division.
    We picked up Polaris back in 2008 and they took an aggressive leap in 2013 and have been growing steadily every year since. The Yamaha product always seemed to have a more solid
    feel but were down on the flashy looks and performance, keeping reliability a priority. It's great to see Yamaha improving their styling and raising their performance levels. In 1985 you couldn't give a Polaris, two stroke chain drive Atv away in Louisiana when Yamaha and Honda were offering a Four Stroke shaft drive unit, man how things have changed.

    Love the content as usual guys BUT you gotta get the details right in this type of video. The base model Rmax 2 you mentioned comes with 30" Tires (not 29"). Also the base model Rmax 2 does NOT come with D-Mode (Sport/Trail/Crawl) its only available on the XTR and Limited Models. The Rmax 4 base model does come with 29" tires by the way so that may have caused your confusion. Also the Rmax 2 XTR does come with the Adventure Pro in the USA. This is straight from the Yamaha website. Also there may be a difference between Canadian and US models but again since your audience is both it needs mentioning. Great video though. Thanks

    One observation about the fuel filler behind the door maybe you could test this and let us know can you put fuel in the side by side with it on a trailer that has fenders over the wheels. Will the door open enough to fuel it? Or will you have to move the side by side on the trailer forward or backwards to open the door and fuel it? I do like how it would keep debris and maybe even if you were moving through water water away from the filler cap.

      @dirttraxtv  3 роки тому

      Good thought, I would say with a low rail on the trailer you could get at it, maybe a low side landscaping trailer but anything too high and you'll be outta luck. I never even thought of that. Thanks for the questions, I'll check it out. ~AJ

    Been waiting for this review forever. Great to finally see it up. However AJ you state the LE model is available, but it seems this is not the case in Canada. Can you confirm if the LE will be coming?
    I will be purchasing the unit (four seat version), however don't want to settle with the XTR if I know the LE is coming.

    We sooooooo much need an updated Commander! Been looking into this catedory for a few years now and waiting for an update and waiting for an update, thinking it will be the next inline... But no, we got a bunch of great stuff from Can-Am, but the commander is just left behind. I might start loking into this crazy beast, but 25k canadian dollarfor a bone stock rig is a lot of money.

    I've been waiting for you guys to get your hands on this. I test drove one a few weeks back. Interesting idea on the door going straight across. The XTR is the SE in Canada and no AdvPro. The US XTR gets the AdvPro and Yamaha Canada is not bringing in the LE. Disappointed with Yamaha Canada on both fronts.
    Something I noticed on the machine I drove and most other vids/pics I've seen including this one, the drivers door is not lining up when closed. The passenger door on all I've seen is perfect, but the drivers door is tilted down and out about 8ish mm. Not a huge deal, just bugs me.
    Can't wait for the your test ride/review. I plan on buying one to trek across Nfld next summer.

    • @dirttraxtv
      @dirttraxtv  3 роки тому +1

      I wish it had the AdvPro as well, kinda thought it would being the flagship model. Besides that I'm really pleased with it, the shoulder bolster is a liability thing so they musta been forced to put it on. It's annoying and could be solved with the door being flush but I get the reasoning for the door cut, sightlines are better for crawling but Id still go high door and no bolster 10 times outta 10 lol. Thanks for watching and for your comments. We haven't have an issues with the door closing but I'll check out and see if maybe there is come adjustment to get it better, or just the old heave ho when the doors open lol. Nothing like brute force alignment lol ~AJ

    • @dirttraxtv
      @dirttraxtv  3 роки тому

      But do ya think the XP is really all that much different? I mean yes it has some updates but overall the fit, finish, interior and exterior are all almost identical and this is really the areas the RMax shows its stuff. General is still a great rig but XP is more of a facelift in my opinion. I think there will be a completely new General in the near future. Possibly a turbo version too. Well I'm hoping anyways. ~AJ

    • @josht8239
      @josht8239 3 роки тому

      @@dirttraxtv I guess for me its different in the areas that count, Its looks were already great. I would have wanted to add aftermarket tires, high clearance a arms, and suspension, much like they did. My problem with the Rmax is with the 4 seater, no rear bed space...same with the teryx4. Like Luke, I have a family that rides, so that's one reason I gravitate towards the general...interior room and cargo storage. I definitely would not mind a turbo.

    I feel like you didn't really do your homework when you did the review on the z force 950. As you got a couple things wrong. And you didn't even know what the override button was for. Then you said you were gonna be giving it a test ride and putting it through the a vigorous test. And you never did that either. But it's all good bro. I still watch all your videos and you do a pretty good job letting the people know mostly what the new machines are all about. Thanks.

Stay tuned. In the mean time we did a fun drag race video featuring the 950. Hope that satisfies until the full review.
