I just love Harry's obvious love of all things automotive he talks from a deep knowledge as opposed to just learning a crib sheet, and it comes across in his presenting. always a pleasure to watch any episode.
Awesome video Harry! I've always enjoyed your videos and am really excited for this channel! The F-Type is one of my favorite cars and the Project 7 just makes it that much better! The sound and look is amazing! Keep the great videos coming!
I love the fact you just pop the wheel off and move the disc round by hand like any other driveway mechanic, reminding us that despite all the "preciousness" of it that it's still just a car. Just discovered your channel. Awesome review.
Harry, fantastic videos! I love to watch these videos on my couch with a pint of beer on a sunday evening. Thank you so much for the attention of details with the cars. Makes these vids really special. Especially with cars like that 64' Land Rover!
That was very lovely Harry. I really appreciate you taking out that tire to show us the suspension of the car, and that NOISE! It really made me smile!
Harry, thank you so much for taking the time to make these great videos and share them with other passionate car-lovers! I read most of the comments (on the first page) and it's a pleasure to see you interacting with your audience. Thank you.
That... Was one of the most onest to god, marvelous car walkthroughs I've ever seen! You know what you're talking about and the passion just radiates, great video!
Mr Harry what a delight, i absolute love your channel and your approach + selection, thank you so much for taking the time to share these wonderful dream machines with the rest of us, cheers from Australia !
You're up their with the likes of Chris Harris for me in terms of sheer enjoyment watching these videos. I think that's because you both show your passion so well and can get across your enthusiasm to the viewer. Great videos!
Glorious sound! Jaguar is really turning things around, the new F type is a wonderful car and has one of the best exhaust notes on the market right now. Both the v6 and v8
Best classic car channel on the web. Harry loves his Jags and I had no idea he was consulting with JLR on SVR!! Pretty impressive CV for Harry. He sure does know so much about the Jaguars.
You just make me smile a lot Mr.Harry, your videos are just truly amazing, taking a wheel of and doing that speeds on a project car it´s just out of this world, you are really the MAN. Thanks for sharing this moments with all us mortals.
You're addition to Jaguar is invaluable. I have personally given up on the marquee in recent years, but really appreciating the direction you're taking them. Good on Jaguar!
Thank you Harry for the special showing of the Project 7. I am very excited to see what you and JLR come up with in the future. The SVO XE will be fun! Black Series lookout.
Never seen another reviewer take the wheel off to show u the suspension ha ha proper nerdy stuff love it king Harry's back the legend never dies keep up the great work
This is what car enthusiasts dreams are made of. #Jaguar #Project7 I also love the authenticity and pureness of the unedited video. Thanks +Harry's garage
Harry, your videos are stand-alone amongst the great mass of [ordinary?] videos on UA-cam! Thank you for sharing your great passion for very special cars. Have you done, or might you do a tour of your garage? I'm sure it would be fascinatiing.
Magnificence.. Sounds as it should, like a Tiger fighting in a firework factory. Great collection of cars, though how you choose which to be play with must be challenging! I struggle with my paltry 3... TVR 420 SEAC (now with 5L Griffith engine) Ford Focus ST (remapped) Honda CBR1100 Blackbird Thoroughly enjoy the videos, keep them coming!
Isn't the small black spring in the coilover purely just for retaining the larger main spring in place while maintaining full shock travel? Those small springs are usually fully compressed when the suspension is loaded...
You're correct and the engineering team point this out to me after watching the video. I had always thought the smaller spring was there to add some compliance but, as you say, it's there to stop the main spring from flapping about when the suspension is at full droop. I'll get it right next time..
Harry's garage I believe the system you're thinking of is called a progressive spring. This isn't usually found on an adjustable coilover set-up like on the F-Type here but more on a spring and shock assembly. It's where a single spring is naturally more compressed at one end and at the other end it is more 'relaxed' (can't think of a better word) which gives both a planted/responsive ride for say track use and more comfortable/forgiving for more every day use respectively. Throughly enjoying all of you videos, please keep up the great work!
What a fcuking car! What a beauty. What a noise. So stirring! 10 years ago Jags were nice but I didn't desire one. Now they are gorgeous, screaming, powerful beasts and I've just got to find a way to make one mine! Project 7 is where my heart wants to be.
Thanks, Harry! Especially for the look at the suspension. It really looks like 21st Century 'kit' . Very organic. Make it big enuf and park it in some corporate lobby as sculpture.
Is there any chance you're going to do a road trip in the Testarossa? You made a brilliant video like that with the Countach already, but I think the Ferrari is much better suited for a continental drive like that. Keep up the great work!
I bet if Jaguar had made the Proyect 7 a 6 speed manual car it would start appreciating rapidly. It would be like a last hooray to proper drivers cars from the past and an even more faithful homage to the D-Type. Greetings from Mexico, I'm a big fan of your videos.
Great work ! The details are amazing because they make the difference. I particularly approve the choice of making the car comfortable in the everyday use for example lowering the seating position in order to comply with the new windscreen or add the 4 point seatbelts to the normal ones when this option is choosen etc. The final result is a beautiful special car you can drive at the proper way on the streets and on the track. Well done !
That noise is just porn ! Wow, seriously it's fantastic. Great vidéo, I learned a few very interesting fact about the car. Harry, you are the best for talking about any car !
There is a tie for the number one car reviewer on UA-cam or TV, in no particular order: Harry Metcalfe, Chris Harris, Jeremy Clarkson, Jethro Bovington, Steve Sutcliffe. True masters of their fields.
I often don't like the sound some modern supercars make, they're trying too hard to sound like an F1 car. This one most definitely doesn't, and it's so much better - it's how a car should sound. Good work!
Thanks for sharing, particularly the front suspension detail. As for the noise, I need to make my old Scimitar sound like that! Unlikely, lacking two cylinders and the supercharger but will hopefully be running the alloy Jag V6 from an S-type with motorcycle throttle bodies so shouldn't sound too bad.
Great insight on the suspension design. Interesting that it is the same design as a Ford Expedition (US), made since 2003. The "A" arms and Spindle are cast Aluminum/ium instead.
Lovely car and styling (fantastic front!). From an engineering perspective, seeing as you are in there having a tweak, cost aside would love fully adjustable caster/camber feature rear and front. Cosmetics: we think perhaps the white stripe and grill surround would suite satin silver in keeping with the high class of car and the heritage. We appreciate the number circles are then another point of discussion.
Awesome vid, it's always good to get right into the detail of these cars. I wonder how much fuel was used being a hooligan on the drive?! Reminds me of years ago when I was young driving a parents car up and down the drive, It was much the same, well, ok, maybe not. It was a MK1 Vauxhall Vectra 1.8 LS. It did make some interesting sounds though 'Trafficmaster license expired call 0800...'
I just love Harry's obvious love of all things automotive
he talks from a deep knowledge as opposed to just learning a crib sheet, and it comes across in his presenting.
always a pleasure to watch any episode.
Thank you, glad my ramblings are appreciated!
Harry,
As a mechanic I really appreciated the look into the suspension and brakes when you removed the front wheel.
Great video as always!
Taking off the wheel and showing us the setup, i love these details. Great video Harry thanks.

Give Top Gear a job with Harry
Fantastic to see you back on the screen Harry.
I'm so glad I stumbled onto this channel. Was really missing Harry's video diaries from EVO.
Love that you can still see the hemstitching machine tool marks on that upright.
Glorious sound! Jaguar is really turning things around, the new F type is a wonderful car and has one of the best exhaust notes on the market right now. Both the v6 and v8

Beautiful! The new F type also is an absolute hit. You're living the dream Harry
You're addition to Jaguar is invaluable. I have personally given up on the marquee in recent years, but really appreciating the direction you're taking them. Good on Jaguar!
He keeps saying "we." Did Harry actually work for Jaguar?
@@ronschwolsky1626 yes. I can’t remember his official title
Masterpiece. Both the car and the video! Keep it up Harry.
Wow indeed, that noise is amazing. Getting some odd looks in work (on lunch) as I gurn away watching that go up and down the drive!
Thank you Harry for the special showing of the Project 7. I am very excited to see what you and JLR come up with in the future. The SVO XE will be fun! Black Series lookout.

My ears would like to pass on their appreciation. Thanks Harry!
Harry resurfaced his drive for moments like this :)
haha that exhaust note was mind blowing! Can't wait to see the finished product!
This is what car enthusiasts dreams are made of. #Jaguar #Project7 I also love the authenticity and pureness of the unedited video. Thanks +Harry's garage
All thumbs up, says it all really.
The channel that puts a smile on your face.
So chuffed to have the videos back Harry!
My thanks for this video. The sound it produces is truly magnificent.

This is like that time Jeremy Clarkson tested his P45, only Harry is a bit better at making cars...
holy thor... that noise is unbelievable. great job!
You are living my dream, honestly
Thanks for taking the trouble to take the wheel off. Eye candy indeed!
Has to be one of the best sounding cars I've heard, absolutely mental.
What we have here is a guaranteed jaw breaker! So much fun that smiling literally breaks your jaw. Awesome.
Thank you for aharing this with us. Man you do really have the dream job!!
Good to see you again! Keep the videos coming!
Really good review. I like how he just took the wheel off :D
You don't see this on Top Gear ;)
It's a boy! Congratulations Harry. Well done old son, well done indeed.

Looking to more videos Harry, loving the content so far.
Thank you so much for making such amazing video on the youtube
Another fantastic video, Harry. Yet another car WANT!
Astonishing car! What a great video of this spectacular project. Thanks for sharing!
Is there any chance you're going to do a road trip in the Testarossa? You made a brilliant video like that with the Countach already, but I think the Ferrari is much better suited for a continental drive like that. Keep up the great work!
Thanks, working on it..

Top work Harry, as usual. Thanks!
It roars like a real Jaguar! That truly is an incredible sounding car.

That sounds PROPERLY good!
Exellent video once again Harry!
You look and sound like James May 20 years from now. Dig the videos!
There's always a asterisks when it come to the US version "rolls eyes" if its good enough for Europe, and Japan its good enough for America.
I think I've just found out what true love really is in this video
Really enjoy these, Harry!
That noise is just porn ! Wow, seriously it's fantastic.
Great vidéo, I learned a few very interesting fact about the car. Harry, you are the best for talking about any car !
What a motor. What a great informative vid. Cheers harry. Keep up the good work.

Tiff Needell ?
Great video, keep them coming please.
14 min went like 5..
Please fit an option with manual carbon seats as in the 458. Thank you. Those will save a massive amount of weight and they are super comfortable.
VOTE 1 ... Harry for Top Gear!

Is that a 930 Turbo tucked away in the garage?
I was wondering that, must be a new addition
David Richards Yep. More soon..
Looking forward to it..
Glorious sound!!
That soft bit of spring at the top...... what a stonking idea........ does it compromise over-all damping?
Thanks for sharing, particularly the front suspension detail. As for the noise, I need to make my old Scimitar sound like that! Unlikely, lacking two cylinders and the supercharger but will hopefully be running the alloy Jag V6 from an S-type with motorcycle throttle bodies so shouldn't sound too bad.
LoL looks like it has been in the makeup dept for a "black and white minstrel show"
That is pretty much the best sounding V8 I've ever heard, it makes a Amg V8 sound quite
That glorious sound.....
Awesome Harry, I really appreciate you doing these reviews again!
In fact I think we all do :)
Great film :) Keeo the videos coming!!!
i think that is the best thing I've ever herd with 4 wheels
Great insight on the suspension design.
Interesting that it is the same design as a Ford Expedition (US), made since 2003. The "A" arms and Spindle are cast Aluminum/ium instead.
Fantastic review Harry! Quick question, why do most British homes have gravel driveways?
We need Harry Tiff and Plato on Top Gear.
And Chris Harris; don't forget Harris
Excellent, Thanks Harry!
That noise is mega.
Should show this beast at ***** if you're taking it to the LA Autoshow. Would be great advertisement!
jay has driven it already just search on f-type jay leno and you can see him drive the project 7 and regular f-type
What a sound. V8 engine at its best.
Top work Harry - the car and the vid.

Having seen that exact car at Goodwood FOS 2014, I'm totally smitten.
"Hi, I'm a Jag...GRRROOOOOWWLLLLL(*)#%)*&@#!"

Harry if requested would your team be willing to put the new f type manual transmission into a project 7
WOW! What a machine!
