One of the biggest crime in Nigeria is these gutters you build running parallel to the roads. The gutters are literally everywhere. It's very very shameful. Gutter is a chanel not a drainage system, but that's all we know in Nigeria. Our brain has not trained Nigerians to transcend gutters and instead build proper drainage systems. Proper drainage systems are UNDERGROUND PIPES, with collection points strategically located on curbsides of roads. In most Western countries, there are no drainage systems on the HIGHWAYS. The highways are a little bit elevated above ground which allows rainwater to run off instead of accumulating. What you guys have going on in Nigeria is very very pathetic.
