    This road is definitely dangerous as vehicles are also travelling in opposite direction on what is meant to be a dual carriageway, you have pedestrians walking by the side of the road, there are sand banks on the road side and the central reservation. Most bizarrely is when the carriageway go through a village spilling into two with no road signs or warning. Eboh Gee, this a very good quality video with beautiful drone shot.

The beginning of Enugu state roads are not lage enough and by the roads sides are dirty things . From Enugu out to Anambra state the roundabout of Awka is not good , but the rest of the road is very good and lager enough , that's the type of road in abroad. There are 2 main problems with constructed roads let's say around Eastern Region. First, Open Culverts; nobody has found a solution as to why contractors leave it open without slabbing it. Secondly is sand, red earth or mud coming on to the road and reduces the road space, forcing drivers to go I to on-coming traffic.

    Nice video , not dangerous by Nigerian standards .
    However I had palpitations due to certain things
    1. Why don’t we have proper markings on Nigerian roads , they use normal paint which lasts a few months at most .
    2. Traffic suddenly comes from the opposite direction on a dual carriageway!
    3 No lane discipline , linked to no1.
    4 . Sudden obstacles , potholes etc
    Having driven on these roads for more than 20 years , driving in Europe is such a pleasure. People will kill themselves in so many accidents if they suddenly had to drive on these sort of roads here.

    • @autumn_b905
      @autumn_b905 2 роки тому +3

    • @sammsilo
      @sammsilo 2 роки тому +2

      @@autumn_b905 you dey vexoo. I am speaking factually in real time. If you call this road dangerous you have not traveled by road a lot in Nigeria. Nigeria has big problems which led to the increased insecurity. There is not enough time and space here to go into it , if you think it’s a young leader ( like Bello of Kwara) is the solution, then you don’t even have a clue what the underlying problems are.

      Insecurity is a recent hurdle but the biggest setback is lack of vision. These States have a great potential to cover the area with high yield palm trees that thrive naturally here. Palm oil is a highly priced commodity globally. Where is the ownership of the lands, the cattle and livestock barns etc? These uninhabited terrain can be covered with solar panels and wind turbines. But no! The current crop of politicians are there for money sharing and that’s why it’s hopeless.

There are more federal roads in the east than in the west really if you think about it.Apart from lagos lbadan expressway and oshodi apapa expressway there is hardly any federal roads in the west.Lagos benin expressway is for the easterners to get home,portharcout, Aba to enugu expressway in the east,Anambra to enugu has two decent roads,east west road,calabar to ltu highway,enugu Abakaliki highway all in the east.......??? with all the army check points on nigerian highway,how is nigeria different from Ukraine that's at war then?Check points and road blocks should only be used in a state of emergency not during peace time....These people are destroying the roads with drums and tyres just to collect bribes from drivers.Western countries do everything to make sure there are no objects on roads but in nigeria it the police and army government officials that are destroying the roads.God please help nigeria she needs government that can actually govern a nation.Thank you.

      I don't think @Suntan Glory was dissing the Igbos. If you drive some roads in the Southwest you will see what she means. Oyo-Ogbomoso Rd, I mean, you basically have to say your 'Hail Marys' before getting on that road, and basically keep saying it all the way throughout. This is the old A1 road, Lagos all the way to Niger Republic. It is still the road plied by all the juggernaut trailers speeding down from North to South and vice versa, at least at that Oyo-Ogbomoso section. The express way has been sitting there uncompleted for decades.
      Other roads I understand are in pretty bad conditions as well, nothing as bad as this road though. So please, let us stop the divisive talks. The Southwest is in the same boat as the Southeast with the government.

    The caption was wrong, because I didn't see anything dangerous about the road,I meant to Nigeria context, except for the police and army roads block, and in my observations, Udi and Orji-River supposed to become a "State in Nigeria" the vast landscape is unbelievable, it needs to be developed, same thing as Awgu/ANINRI ,these Areas are supposed to be a State on their own

    One of the biggest crime in Nigeria is these gutters you build running parallel to the roads. The gutters are literally everywhere. It's very very shameful. Gutter is a chanel not a drainage system, but that's all we know in Nigeria. Our brain has not trained Nigerians to transcend gutters and instead build proper drainage systems. Proper drainage systems are UNDERGROUND PIPES, with collection points strategically located on curbsides of roads. In most Western countries, there are no drainage systems on the HIGHWAYS. The highways are a little bit elevated above ground which allows rainwater to run off instead of accumulating. What you guys have going on in Nigeria is very very pathetic.
